112th_Rossi Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 Ordered from Flightstore.co.uk :) Any tips on set up or anything I should know to avoid any confusion? :)
159th_Viper Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 (edited) Your first experience with TrackIr? Did you get the clip too? It's pretty much Plug-and-Play. You might want to however look at Fish's tutorial for advice on how to set it up for the A-10 and other products: I would go so far as to say that using his profile should be mandatory as it is moons ahead of the default profiles available, which are in hindsight, severely restrictive. If it is your first experience, be prepared for it to feel completely alien at first - give it about a week or so before your brain is programmed to accept the new input. Good Times ahead to be sure :) Tutorial: TASEXUd4Oto Edited April 17, 2012 by 159th_Viper Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career? 112th_Rossi Posted April 17, 2012 Author Posted April 17, 2012 I had a TrackIR2 but it doesnt work with A10C. So not a complete newb, but this 6DoF thing is new to me.
112th_Rossi Posted April 17, 2012 Author Posted April 17, 2012 It comes with Track clip, but not Track Clip Pro. Whats the difference?
159th_Viper Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 Yeah, Pro was what I meant. The Pro has active LED's for tracking as opposed to the reflective tabs of the other device that fits on a hat. http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/02-products/product-TrackClip-PRO.html I cannot compare the two as I have only had the Pro, which is also handy to clip to a headset/mic. http://media.naturalpoint.com/files/print/trackir/tcp-quickstart-200612.pdf Also means that the TrackIr device is offset on your monitor to the left or right, depending on what side of your headset/mic the Pro is fitted to. Britt007 Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 I've used both the cap clip and the pro clip and can honestly say the pro is way better, I also cut off the USB lead and made it wireless and use it with my turtlebeach PX5 headphones. I've attached my profile if you would like to give it a try.Britt007 DCS.xml.zip Windows 7 Pro 64bit 16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 memory OC @ 1648MHz i7 2600K @ 3.40GHz OC @ 4.4xxMHz Nvidia GTX 590 3GB Asus P8Z68 Deluxe Motherboard Crucial 128GB SSHD

HiJack Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 TrackIR version 5.2 beta 1 is online for download. The main issue seams to be Windows 8 support. http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/06-support/support-download-software-and-manuals.html I have not tested this version so please check out the TrackIR forums and make a backup (or a system restore point) before you upgrade. Supersheep Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 I'd say start with Wags autochthonous profile and when you are used to TIR, you can build your own without confusing yourself. IMHO, there's no profile that will fit your idea just right. Super- The PVC Pipe Joystick Stand How to thread
