ED Team BIGNEWY Posted April 30, 2012 ED Team Posted April 30, 2012 Just a quick message in-case its not been mentioned I have switched to windowed mode, sometimes the focus of the window does not work. i.e if I have ts3 window open but have p-51 at the front it will not allow me to type a password for example. Just get the ding ding sound in windows 7. I have replicated it, but it does not always seem to happen. thanks BIGNEWY Forum rules - DCS Crashing? MadTommy Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 It is a known glitch - annoying isn't it? Nate Is this the same issue that windowed mode does not work in GUI / Options screen? Seems to work when flying (Su25) but not in the menu. i5-3570K @ 4.5 Ghz, Asus P8Z77-V, 8 GB DDR3, 1.5GB GTX 480 (EVGA, superclocked), SSD, 2 x 1680x1050, x-fi extreme music. MadTommy Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 No - that is new, GUI works ok for me in windowed mode. Nate Hmm.. what i am getting is: I've got two monitors, running the game in windowed mode, when in the GUI if i click on my 2nd monitor the game minimises. But when flying and you click on 2nd monitor it acts as it should and remains open. Implying that windowed mode is not functioning for me in the GUI. (annoying when setting up profiles when you want the list of key command to remain visible, and you have a poor memory like me!) i5-3570K @ 4.5 Ghz, Asus P8Z77-V, 8 GB DDR3, 1.5GB GTX 480 (EVGA, superclocked), SSD, 2 x 1680x1050, x-fi extreme music. Nate--IRL-- Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 Nate, have you already reported this bug? It was a setting changed by Freleen when we were fiddling with something else I'm waiting for him to change it back. I haven't checked the trunk yet. Humor me and try a res in DCS slightly lower than your native monitor res so you can see the desktop behind DCS, and try again. ^^^ I see what you mean, it does the same for me Do you also have 2 monitors? Kuky Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 I have 4 monitors, opening maing menu page and clicking with mouse anywhere outside the main monitor minimises the DCS menu window PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
Nate--IRL-- Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 I have 4 monitors, opening maing menu page and clicking with mouse anywhere outside the main monitor minimises the DCS menu window Hmm ok were getting somewhere now - please run DCS at a windowed resolution lower than your monitors resolution and try it again. Does it still minimise? Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading

Humor me and try a res in DCS slightly lower than your native monitor res so you can see the desktop behind DCS, and try again. Nate Ok tried this.. running at less than native res and clicking away does not minimise DCS. Easy workaround when 'setting options'. Seems like running at native res in the GUI forces full screen... no big issue. At 1st i thought windowed mode was not working at all, but as long as it works when actually flying its a non issue for me. Cheers. i5-3570K @ 4.5 Ghz, Asus P8Z77-V, 8 GB DDR3, 1.5GB GTX 480 (EVGA, superclocked), SSD, 2 x 1680x1050, x-fi extreme music. TM Warthog, Saitek combat pro pedals, TrackIR 4

Panzertard Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 I've seen this too, 1 monitor only. But it's hard to grasp how to reproduce the problem. Solving is easy - alt-tab back / forth - and you'll be good to go. Still under investigation, although not at highest priority (easy fix). The mind is like a parachute. It only works when it's open | The important thing is not to stop questioning
Pikey Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 I have this focus thing, its connected with Aero too. My GUI bug was also linked to the full screen/windowed GUI - I couldn't get the GUI running properly in full screen. Aero off and run in windowed works around for now. ___________________________________________________________________________ SIMPLE SCENERY SAVING * SIMPLE GROUP SAVING * SIMPLE STATIC SAVING *

I have two monitors. Trying to run game in primary monitor native resolution but in window mode, so I can still click and use TS3 on second monitor. If I click on TS3 on second monitor then DCS World suddenly minimizes. Nate--IRL-- Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 I can't check that since I'm not fortunate to own two monitors - however the Fullscreen mode has been adjusted to behave properly now - please check the behaviour in windowed mode in the next beta and let me know. PeterP Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Please do what Nate said, but humour me also and use this tweak - and tell me how this works for you: Fix: adding a custom resolution to in-game options.
