hello everybody,

Actually i have some Problems by flying the Su25T which i can't solve.

1. With default Load, i must hold the nose on 10°+ to keep the height. Without the 6DOF of TrackIR i got problems to look over the nose to ground and get an overview over the battlefield under the plane.

2. The plane is curling massive. One second fly normal, the next (most after an attack run, or get out of the autopilot) the Plane is rolling over 70-80° in 1-2 seconds. The movement is left, right, up and down. And the most problem, i can't trimm against that. I must use the complete moevement of my warthog to hold against it. generaly the plane moves al lot 1 lost a few 100/1000 metres when im concentrate on the SHKVAL and when i got a target and fire a VIKHR i lost laser contact very fast.

3. SHKVAL, don't move smooth like the TGP, the cursor jumps sometimes 10m so i got poblems to focus targets in time. Most when i got a lock, then i'm only 2-3 nm away from the target, and had mass problems to stabilize the plane for firing the VIKHR.

I know my english is not so good (im german) and i think only the half of you understand what i mean. I think a track sayed mehr than 1000 words, so hiere is a rack from me, showing my problems.

wold be nice if someone could help me. cry.gif

I could say one sentence - learn to fly :D

I noticed you took off and went high too early and too slowly. Don't push higher and higher when you fly 300 km\h.....

Your average speed was too low, in some moments you had only 260 km\h....

I didn't find Shkval jumpness either :P

Everything seems to be fine, except Vikhrs fire bug, where even if allowed to fire they can miss laser beam, which is rare in FC2.

Don't use laser if you don't intend to attack almost immadietly, and btw - laser will turn on itself if you fire missile.

Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D

The extreme rolling occurs when you exceed the maximum angle of attack, which is very easy to do when fully loaded. Watch the angle of attack meter in the cockpit.

For the SHKVAL, go in the game axis settings and have a curve of plus 20 and a deadzone of around 5 then edit fo taste.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

If you exit the Autoplitot on a highly banked turn, the plane will be trimmed for that turn. If I rememer well from my Su-25 days... you have to options:

1- Reset trim as soon as you exit AP

2- Before turning off AP, turn on Level AP, and once in level flight, turn off AP (this was my preferred system).

Ive found the autopilot modes to be extremely important in this aircraft. Fortunately I have a Logitech keyboard that I have mapped the autopilot modes to. In particular the mode that autocenters the aircraft is extremely helpful if your aircraft get totally out of trim. Learn the autopilot mode young padawan and you will become one with the Frog.

I can do number three;

The Shkval in this Su-25 model autolocks exactly like a Maverick in A10 but acts slightly differently to the one in BS1/2.

If you ground stabilise it and keep the nose in that direction its rather easy to get locks on relevant objects because it will jump to a target.

As for timing, yeah, its not easy, I'd recommend having a good understanding of where the targets are first from the side, remember the terrain shape and then take a really long attach run rather than trying to work out all of that on the way right in and trying what would probably end up like a Rockets run.

Attack runs should be no less then 3k out anyway even for the A10.

Ok thank for the Help no it works. :)

I use the autopilot to get out of the trim problems, and i must say, i fly al lot to slow, so i could not stabilize the Plane.

Now it worked very well.

Now i only have 2 problems left.

1. Get new Payloads in SP

2. Get a new chute after landing. :megalol:

Thanks for the Help. :joystick:

I know but that don't work on with "Create Fast Mission" and Rampstart. :(

I have a different small problem.

Is there actually a way to bind the axis of my toebrake to the two toebrakes?

Thanks in advance!

Most on DCS you have the brake axis and then the left and right brakes as keys.

i think i must build a own mission, but i don't know how. :megalol:

Go into ME. PLace an Su-25T at an airbase. Set plane to player skill. Click on the airbase and when the dialogue on the right pops up make it Red. (Assuming russia is red coalition.) Done.

Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing

Ah,

I looked and looked but there's no such axis on the SU25T control settings.

I guess it's the Su25T in DCS World that do not allows it.

I guess it's the same as FC2...

the Su25t flys like a brick with wings.if your not going the correct speed ( i say stall for it is at 270km cause the plane will roll to one side at the speed for me ) the plane it self can over speed easily,

Posted (edited)

As Bob said it's clear you're new not only to the 25 but also to flying. While the stall speed http://www.faa.gov/library/manuals/aviation/pilot_handbook/ may be ~270 for a lightly loaded A/C (aircraft) it can be over 300 for maximum takeoff weight and much higher than that for m.t.w. at even higher altitude.

Now, while key number values must be remembered you have to learn to instinctively, continuously and correctly adjust your airspeed to current conditions (weight and altitude). Here's how you develop this skill quickly. All you need is an ability to set up simple flights in the mission editor.

Level 1 - static, low altitude

a) minimum weight, 350 km/h close above flat terrain

Maintain level flight (vertical velocity indicator is the critical instrument here - not "artificial horizon" let alone the altimeter!). Retard the throttle to begin slowing down. Make the slowing down slow. The closer you get to 300, the slower. Compensate for the descend by pulling back on the stick. Continue until you stall, pulling back on the stick till the moment you crash.

a2) same as above but...

Try not to stall completely – don't slow down further when you feel you can't stop the A/C descending. Note down the weight, minimum airspeed and altitude. Now accelerate by ~50 km/h and decelerate back to minimum speed. All still flying close to the ground. Repeat few times.

a3)

Fly ~20 km/h above stall speed, ascending and descending by ~20 meters. Do a sort of flat sine in the air. Smoothly.

a4)

a1) through a3) above – all the same except you set up the flight with maximum takeoff weight.

Level 2 - static, high altitude

Level 1 steps a1) through a4) – all the same except you set up a flight at high altitude, behind a big A/C like A-50.

Level 3 - dynamic, low altitude

Level 1 steps a1) through a4) – but don't make it smooth. Make gradually rougher moves on the stick. Even try to make a sort of “Pugachev's cobra”.

Level 4 - dynamic, high altitude

As level 3 - all the same except you set up a flight at high altitude, behind a big A/C like A-50.
