Pigmachine Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 Watched it a little on you tube, and it seemed.. a bit too much adapted to consoles, and thought it was a steam only game. But it's getting interesting if it's not! But not this month! :( CPU i7-6700K 4,3Ghz, RAM Corsair Vengeance LPX 2666M 2x16GB, GPU Gigabyte Gaming G1 GTX 1080, Monitor Benq 24" 1920x1080 @ 144Hz, MB ASUS Z170-A, OS Win 10 Pro (Creators ED), HOTAS X52 Pro, VR Oculus Rift Cv1

Pigmachine Posted October 28, 2012 Posted October 28, 2012 Waste of time, console crap. Thanks! Saved a bit of money to buy planes for! Suspected it being that way. :D CPU i7-6700K 4,3Ghz, RAM Corsair Vengeance LPX 2666M 2x16GB, GPU Gigabyte Gaming G1 GTX 1080, Monitor Benq 24" 1920x1080 @ 144Hz, MB ASUS Z170-A, OS Win 10 Pro (Creators ED), HOTAS X52 Pro, VR Oculus Rift Cv1
asparagin Posted October 29, 2012 Author Posted October 29, 2012 Waste of time, console crap. Did you play it? HiJack Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 Did you play it? No, it was just my personal opinion. It will surly be a big sale of the game on consoles. Jack
Cowboy10uk Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 Ok Yes it was designed for both Consoles and PC, but I'm sorry, by writing it off as console crap, you are missing out on a stunning piece of gaming. Sure it may be short although isn't everything theses days, but what a journey. Best game I've played in ages. Can't recommend it enough. Namenlos Ein Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 (edited) Best game I've played in ages. Actually I still have Dark Messiah (2006) installed. Edited October 29, 2012 by Namenlos Ein
Cowboy10uk Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 (edited) Not finished it yet, guess I'm 3/4 of way through, been playing for about 5 hrs. I will most Likely finish it on my next session on Thurs, bloody work getting in the way. ;) Yes I agree with you that it's criminal that most stuff is getting dumbed down or is a port to the PC these days, unlike the goldern days when things were ported From the PC. However once in a blue moon a good game will appear, like this one. I love my pc gaming and believe me if it wasn't any good or I felt that it was just a console port I would say so. The interface feels good, controls don't feel forced in like they do with some ports and it works well with multi monitor and extreme resolutions which again if it was just a port it wouldn't do. Lots of graphical options as well. I can appreciate though people's concerns, I think we have all been bitten by bad console ports in the past, while this may not be a full price purchase for you, If you find it on sale somewhere, it would certainly be worth a look. Only real issue is the Steam requirement as I'm not a big fan, but I have also come to realise that if I want to continue gaming I have to sadly accept that it is here to stay. Cowboy10uk P.S. I still have Dark Messiah installed as well. :) Edited October 29, 2012 by Cowboy10uk [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Fighter pilots make movies, Attack pilots make history, Helicopter pilots make heros. :pilotfly: Corsair 570x Crystal Case, Intel 8700K O/clocked to 4.8ghz, 32GB Vengeance RGB Pro DDR4 3200 MHZ Ram, 2 x 1TB M2 drives, 2 x 4TB Hard Drives, Nvidia EVGA GTX 1080ti FTW, Maximus x Hero MB, H150i Cooler, 6 x Corsair LL120 RGB Fans And a bloody awful Pilot

HiJack Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 Agree with you Cowboy but it's sad that a $59 game is finished in a coyuple of weeks and with no hope of more free content. Look at BlackShark and Flaming Cliffs 2! Initial loads of fun and still there is plenty of free missions and stuff to enjoy! And what was the initial price for those two? Get the picture? Jack
Cowboy10uk Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 Oh I do Hijack, and believe me, I hate the way gaming is heading with short of very short single player story's. Sadly the producers only think Multiplayer is worth looking at now and single player experience is tacked on, unlike the old days when it was the other way round. However that said, it is still enjoyable when although short, in relation to say games that came out early to mid 90s, (which lets be honest, were so long I still havnt finished some ;) ) the producers manage to deliver a stunning story and make the gaming environment as believable as they have done here. Nothing is worse than a short game with a crap journey, But a Short game with a stunning Journey, is still quite good and while granted if I paid the £45 that console gamers pay I may have been disappointed, Pc gamers still pay significantly less, I consider my £22 well spent. Significantly longer than a £15 blu ray, and certainly with this game, quite a number of replay options, as the game itself changes with the way you play it, grows darker and more violent, the more violent you play. Unfortunantly I think the day of month long epics are sadly gone, but with a good story and a good game design we can still enjoy ourselves. Also we do still have our stunning sims, to keep us entertained for years and years. joey45 Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 It depends how you play it... Yes you can speed through it once and say... Bit of console crap or play it and see and find everything then replay it again differently. Can it be played on a Keyboard and mouse... Yes does it have a proper settings menu... yes is it a bit of console crap curled out on a PC platform... No it is not. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. HiJack Posted October 30, 2012 Posted October 30, 2012 is it a bit of console crap curled out on a PC platform... No it is not. A good review from TotalBiscuit will of course convince a lot of PC players. Personally I don’t like the graphics that shows in this review. As TotalBiscuit was telling they made a water mesh over the whole map, a quick port from console I guess. Other than that I'm sure it has quite a lot of fun in it, and it should for $60. Jack
