I wouldn't call it 'biting the bullet' since I jumped in eyes open and happy to do it.

But yes, it is an addictive little aircraft!;)

As soon as you're able to get the damn thing off the ground that is....:pilotfly:

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

takeoff is quite easy in the P51, trim er out, apply power slowly and you shouldn't have any problems

And you don't need to apply full power like the training session says.

This is an amazing sim! 'Nuff said!:pilotfly:

i never use full power on takeoff. the torque just makes the plane roll violently. as i compensate on the ground for full power & when rising i cant stop the plane from rolling.

Pull back your stick until you reach ~100mph then slowly ease the tension and let the wings lift the plane off.

80-90 mph is when torque is dangerous so make sure the tail is solid on the ground.

i do. and i never give more than 80% throttle, that 80-100 is devastatingly hard to take off with.

id rather have a smooth TO and require 50 more metres of runway. i also think given the beta release its all probally not finalised fm etc

...wonderful, beautiful enablers :megalol:

I've been lurking and wondering if I should get this (...I own both A-10 and BS2...), and after all the videos and screenies, I finally caved in.

Can't wait to try this one out as it seems to be growing on a lot of you.

:pilotfly:

That is exactly what I did.

I keep getting mixed up my controllers' moves as to each aircraft's differences.

I am still learning BS2.

Well, I have the P-51 down good enough, just need to fine tune it a bit.

I exploded a freighter with an 8 round rocket salvo on the 1st pass. LOL! Don't know if all 8 rockets actually hit it. A big fireball resulted and a message, "ship destroyed".

I'm waiting to buy, if I buy now, ill learn the not so complete FM. I promise everyone is in for a shock when its patched up. I have read enough incomplete parts to get lazy before the real thing. The threads will all saying what worked and now is broke. I'm holding off till its out of beta. Just a little bit longer...

Promised myself not to buy P51D.

Damn.

Did not work.

LOL. Same here. :megalol:

Yeap. I am liking P-51D so far although it is the hardest to fly of the two (A-10 being the other one). I only made one lucky take-off. Will practice some more tonight to see if I get it down.
