Hello fellow Flight Sim folks. I have a question for you. I'm looking for a pair of rudder pedals that are quite rugged and that will stand up to some wear and tear from frequent use. The types of games I'll be using this for are of course DCS A-10 and the beta version of DCS World which contains the P-51 Mustang. I'm also considering purchasing the Take on Helicopters game. I'm looking for a pair of rudder pedals that do not go heel to toe such as a gas pedal in a car. I was considering purchasing the CH Pro Pedals (300111DIS) but it doesn't say on the website whether these are heel to toe. Any input you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

James

PS Please keep in mind that I really don't want to go over $100.

Check out the Saitek standard pedals. They have adjustable foot size.

The combat ones are excellent as well but your foot doesn't rest on them like the standard ones.

Both are also very rugged and will last.

The heel to toe comment got my attention...

FWIW, I've never flown an airplane where I didn't rest my heels on the floor while pushing with the soles of my feet against the base of the peds (not top).

I see so many sim pedals have that "bottom lip" behind your heel and are angled so flat compared to real life ones.

Thanks for your input. Where could I find out more information about the A-10 pedals?

I'll take a look at the Saitek pedals as well. Thanks for the info.

Oh, there aren't any PC A-10 peds AFAIK. That was just a pic to show what a more common pedal setup would look like in a real plane (A-10 in this case).

Ch pro peds do both. For the rudder function, the entire pedal slides. For the toe brake function the pedal rotates like a cars gas pedal. They also provide a pair of blocks or chalks that will prevent the slide function for those folks that want a racing sim setup.

I can say without a doudt they are sturdy and tough, but at the same time accurate.

Sweet description. Thanks!

I have owned both CH and Saitek Pro Flights.. and I prefer the Saiteks.. they have a wider stance, a smoother throw and adjustable foot rests.. You can also adjust the tension on them although I thnk I could do that on the CH pedals as well.. it has been a while..

I have the Saitek Pro Flight Combat pedals, which are probably the closest thing to the real thing (for a moderate price - you can always go for the Simpeds which are considerably more expensive).

Saitek Combat rudder pedals are metal (as opposed to some other models, which are plastic), which gives them a more realistic feel (and they feel pretty sturdy, too, and heavy).

I have had my CH pedals for over 8 years and they still work perfectly. They have seen a lot of flight hours, I'd say roughly about 8+ hours a week.

Do CH or Saitek pedals have individual brakes for each wheel. The reason I'm asking is because when I play DCS World and I'm taxiing the P-51 Mustang it's hard to use the keyboard to brake the left or right wheel individually to make a tighter turn. Plus I think it would be a lot easier to do the same when trying to come to a complete stop out on the runway without having to take my hands off the controls.

If the game supports it then CH can do it. I don't have P-51 or A-10C so I wouldn't know.

I have the saitek pro pedals and yes they have toe brakes. You can assign the left and right toe brake in the game options.
