I have a little bit strange question. Do not laugh plz!)

It is possible to activate the tracer for 105mm, 120mm, 125mm and RPG ?

Hi Mustang, i just ran a quick test, and it seems i have less of a fps hit with long bursts with this mod installed than i did with the default tracers. Its drops about 7-8fps with default tracers, and only about 4-5fps with your mod. Thereabouts anyway, hard to get exact figures. (same mission and zoom settings) Don't know how you did it, but well done and thanks :thumbup:

Interesting LiveBait thanks for the feedback, there actually should be no difference in framerates between this fix and the default tracer since they're both identical in filesize and model complexity - the only differing factor is the colour.

It is technically possible to do that, the model names are pula.edm for the HE rounds and kinetic_type1.edm for the AP rounds.

 

Infact, i've attached modified versions below that use a tracer, extract them to Bazar\World\Shapes.

Very cool man! I've wanted to see tank tracers for a while

 

My apologies in advance, (you opened the flood gates :D)

 

Is it possible to replace the yellow tracer with a red one? For both p51 and the armor?

 

I could have sworn I read that tracers in the game change color based on their speed, this seems true enough based on my experence with the mustang. They seem to start yellow and end up red after they richochet. It's a cool effect, but despite the apparent realism I'm hoping to set up tracers that burn bright red from the muzzle to burn out.

Is this by chance a matter of a simple file edit?

System specifications: Computer, joystick, DCS world, Beer

With these (new) tracers AP and HE night battle tanks or artillery fire looks very nice :thumbup:

You are very good to add different effects to the DCS World :)

Maybe you realize my next idea?

1. Add a little smoke to the exhaust pipe of the tank.

2. Add one more animation! Hit the rocket or RPG in (TAnk)

In the game already has a similar animation: inside files vehicles (....Lua) GT.swing_on_run = false;

And also in the file GT_t.lua

generic_vehicle.animation_arguments.body_swing_pitch = 20;

generic_vehicle.animation_arguments.body_swing_vertical = 21;

generic_vehicle.animation_arguments.body_swing_roll = 22;

generic_vehicle = generic_vehicle;
