IADC Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Ladies and Gents, In the world of mission building it is important to add as much immersion as possible to a mission. I lot of time and effort goes into building a quality mission so one might as well make it the best possible. Voice overs for missions, builds this immersion and I am looking for people to to provide those voice over files. I have the required scripts for these that are properly punctuated to create the right mood so one can manipulate his voice accordingly. If you are interested in helping with this there are several mission builders on the forums that would appreciate your help. Please post me if you have time to help (we need quick turnaround) on these files. I will post you the scripts in order of sequence, all you have to do is save each voice file with the corresponding number as per the instructions. No special effects required all these are added when we get them back. In your post to me please state Gender/Approximate Age/Nationality - Accent. All information provided will remain confidential. You only need to down load a free program like gold wave and have a mic to build these voice files. I can help over Team Speak if needed. Hope some of you can help thanks in advance. Rob
MasterZelgadis Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 There is a thread in the ArmA II board about voice acting, a lot of people already posted there. Maybe you could use this as an "additional resource" ;) http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?90625-Voice-actors-forum-group-find-actors-or-become-one! IADC Posted July 5, 2012 Author Posted July 5, 2012 Thanks for the pointer to that, I will try there as well. I was hoping that some of the DCS crowd would help out as my missions are aimed at this community to use. Hate to take effort from people who wont benefit. Cheers anyway and it gives more options.
GregP Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 I'll help out if I can: Male / 36 / American, no particular accent

IADC Posted July 7, 2012 Author Posted July 7, 2012 Guys thanks all very much for your replies. On the next mssion build I will send out all the script files so each of you can give it a shot. This kind of help is very much appreciated. The mission currently being built has had the script voices allready done. Very amature stuff poor quality but hell we are not sound engineers yet... Any way thanks and will be in touch.
BoneDust Posted November 24, 2018 Posted November 24, 2018 (edited) You can get some pretty good AI voices for most recordings. These are clips of different ones I've added to a test mission I'm experimenting with. Old post, but I thought someone may benefit. An airplane by it's nature wants to fly, and if not interfered with too strongly by unusual events or by a deliberately incompetent pilot, it will fly. A helicopter does not want to fly. It is maintained in the air by a variety of forces in opposition to each other, and if there is any disturbance in this delicate balance the helicopter stops flying; immediately and disastrously.

BoneDust Posted November 27, 2018 Posted November 27, 2018 There are many. I use different ones, but you'll often have to adjust the speed and pitch of the voice. Frag Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 There are many. I use different ones, but you'll often have to adjust the speed and pitch of the voice. Which one? Those are not that vibrant, but they could be used for more extensive ATC communication! Let us know :)
BoneDust Posted November 30, 2018 Posted November 30, 2018 (edited) I use Cloud text to speech. Last part of video sound is messed up because it didn't render properly. Frag Posted December 1, 2018 Posted December 1, 2018 What I do not like with text to speech is that everything is always read like you would read a book ... There is no tone. Don't get me wrong, the technology is fantastic, but I am pretty sure the technology will let you set the tone soon (sad, happy, excited, order, scared ...and so on).
