Just noticed in latest version of DCS World that i have flickering white boxes

again over the terrain, but only whit HDR enabled. (not sure if its only in urban areas)

This same issue existed in some of the beta versions of A10C, then disappeared, and now reappeared again.

Searched the forum but could not find any useful info besides that it may help to instal a gfx driver of over a year old.

Reason i don't simply turn off HDR is that enabling it gives better performance for some reason.

If anyone has some hints/tips for a workaround please let me know.

That problem was never solved, many complaints were sent to AMD to no avail...

Only version that had no flickering white boxes was catalyst 11.6 I think...

I went from 6950 to 6770 only because of this problem...

In some day I will get another 6950 to try again... hope not to see those little bastardz again...

In another thread the following post was referenced as a possible fix for a cloud display issue.

http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1509264&postcount=139

So I went ahead and installed the fix as a preemptive measure, even though I did not have the cloud issue.

Lo and behold, there were no flashing squares AT ALL on my last flight. :D

I don't know if this was the fix or not, so, could anybody with the issue try this and report please?

Not that I think that anything will be (or could be) done about it... but here it goes...

The file above does not seem to work anymore after update 1.2.1. Surprisingly, after a fresh install, I did not have the flashing squares at all.

However, after patch 6192, the flashing squares are back with a vengeance. They seem to be related to the aircraft strobe lights. If I have them off, I see a lot less (like 1 every 2-3 minutes), but with them on is Christmas time in the Caucasus...:santa:

actually ... :sad_2: Back to flying with no HDR. I miss the nice sun effect...:cry_2:

On the bright side, I can crank up everything to high and get very nice frame rates.

I reverted to 11.6 Catalyst... I even play BF3 on it disregarding the fact BF3 warns me on start-up that the first recommended Catalyst for BF3 is 11.7...

Can you believe that??!?! I mosly play this two games and one works fine on 11.6 and the other would like 11.7 and up...

If I told someone, they wouldn't believe me, right? :D

anything above Catalyst 11.x is buggy as hell until they finish adding in the 7xxx series features, then start to debug the drivers.

if your not running a 7xxx series stick with the last 2 or 3 11.xx drivers.

Again come back? :\

It was a reason why I changed a GPU from 6970 to 7970.
