Flaring up again tonight, for what it's worth. All 4 of our group present tonight are having the same problem. (Crash upon attempting to log in to master server.) All we can do is sit on our thumbs and hope we don't wait too long, I suppose.

Is M/P going to be fixed before Fc3 is released?

 

You have many server admins who promote your product, for free, so the community can fly against each other. For free. Flying against the AI, who cheats just isn't any fun. The AI in DCS isn't too smart.

A.I. in DCS is easily the the best I've seen in any flight sim. Not too bright, sure, but no A.I. is. If you think this is bad, you should see the A.I. in Rise of Flight.

 

That said, yeah, multiplayer is much more interesting than single-player. I hope the fix comes soon.

ED is well aware of the problem. It has also been confirmed that the matter has been rectified and the fix expected in the next patch.

 

In the interem, we please request that everyone exercise a wee bit of patience.

Patience is one thing, but this has been going on for quite some time now.

I have a feeling it was pushed to the side in favor of fc3. I would ask for some information on the timeline for the next patch since this problem is still going on but all i can think about is how much of a hassle it was just to get this problem acknowledged ...

Same for me ... crash, crash, crash.

 

After couple of minutes in the air whole DCSW crashes to the desktop.

Thought maybe my Helios setup is guilty, tried singleplayer and everything is fine.

So far I bought all programms just to support, never flew the Mustand really and never touched a vehicle ... but now I will wait until the A-10 is nearly bugfree.

 

It seems that ED is releasing and releasing ... getting money and forget to deliver a working product. Lets call it a banana software ... :(

No fun at this time.

Sorry Viper, but the whole community has been waiting since DCSW Final got released for about 3- 3,1/2 month! So, how much patience do you accept?

Your anger is quite understandable. My online flight time is suffering too because of this issue. However, in this aspect you are quite wrong:

The problem was acknowledged by the devs, as we told you like a month ago. Devs loaded up an old version of the software, and were able to reproduce, but no one was able to reproduce in newer, internal builds, and this we also told you like a month ago.

You didn't believe us until c0ff came on here and told you himself?

 

Please, just try to sit tight, and hope we can get that next patch as soon as possible.

The 689th Tactical Group has reverted back to 1.1.1.1. Just as some other squads have done. Not sure how DCS World will react to another aircraft type (FC3) being introduced when it is already unstable and mostly unflyable for us.

About that remote, dedicated server capability... We're tired of trying to explain why we can't host a dedicated server for DCS. One word: when?

Masterserver is down, again.

 

The master server is NOT down, and I think the master server has a downtime of only a few hours a year, if that. I can't remember a time when it was down, ever (though on this forum I did see complaints of a bug, fixed perhaps 8 months ago, that occasionally prevented some people from logging in).

 

What is happening is that the game is crashing when it attempts to display the server list. It would seem then that the issue lies in the code to display the server list. It would seem that most likely, the master server is only guilty by association- by default, the last thing you do before attempting to display the list of internet servers is connect to the master server, so people wrongly associate the problem with the master server.

 

So now, people are angry at ED's very non-intrusive and reliable master server, when the master server probably has nothing to do with the problem in the first place, and even if the master server did not exist at all, we'd still have the same issue.

Note the use of the words: "it would seem that", "probably", "most likely", etc.

 

So, to reiterate again, I do not know this for a fact, but it would certainly seem that the master server is not at fault here, just based on these observations:

1) The master server is in fact not down, you can log into it with internal beta versions and 1.1.1.1 just fine, hence, half the reason why many online squads are staying with version 1.1.1.1.

2) The problem only occurs when you try to view the server list. If you login in LAN mode, you connect to the master server just fine, but as soon as you try to view internet servers, the game crashes.

 

I'm not sure what you mean by the "master server list". There is no "master server list". There is the list of internet servers. We had a multiplayer interface that would provide us with a list of internet servers long before the master server login ever existed. I would suspect that this is provided by some server (though I know next to nothing about network programming), but the problem is not with this server it would seem- otherwise, ED could fix this in a jiffy on their end, without a patch, and this problem would probably appear in internal versions and 1.1.1.1.

 

As far as the active servers not being shown on server list, I don't know much about that bug, I have not been pursuing it myself (yes I am aware of it though). Even if I did know something about whether or not it's fixed, it may not be my place to tell you whether it's fixed in internal versions.

It seems Master server was not accessible due to new releases and a lot of people wanted to play online. Please excuse us for inconvenience. We do our best to fix it.

Sry if I missed the post inbetween the multiple threads refering to the problem, and why cant these types of posts be stickied so its not on page 13 on the middle of nothing. My biggest complaint is the lack of information or my lacking of knowing where to find it. Also I see what I think is a new post but its actually quite old.. years sometimes. Ed is so quick to edit a post with something negative it it why cant they clean em up a little too.
