Installed this mod and do not see much of a difference than stock - what am I doing wrong.

 

I think I've got it installed right because the auto-pilot channel labels are different - single letters. The overhead label fonts are different.

 

Also the PVI-800 has a reverse color - gray background...but after some time reverts to the standard black background.

Maybe you can provie "before & after" screenshots. So we can see what you did.

Maybe the mod works partially for you. I don't know.

Blue Cockpit version?

 

It is a bit difficult to see the buttons and switches with the black layout - is there a blue cockpit version for this great mod?

I'm really paranoid about doing this (computers don't like me).

 

I copy the "Mods" folder right into DCS World? It's asking me if I want to merge is that right?

Merge? Computer should ask about "Overwrite".

But do not forget to customize the folder structure. The has in fact changed from "aircrafts" in "aircraft".

e.g.: C:\Games\DCS World\JSGME\Ricardos Blue HD cockpit\Mods\aircraft\Ka-50 ...

But there are some links (other mods also) that have the old folder structure held. It should be just a hint ^^

yes, there is a change that has to be made.

the mod has two main folders you will be adding

 

Texture Old Path:

Mods\aircraft\Ka-50\Cockpit\Resources\Model\Textures

Texture New Path:

Mods\aircraft\Ka-50\Cockpit\Textures

 

The second folder remains unchanged.

 

This folder structure applies to all of the aircraft in 1.5, so any mods that change the cockpit such as language mods or similar will follow the new directory structure

Does not work 1.5...:-(

Delete old rar file and the paste new textures rar. file..and..nothing..

Even though the original textures delete, still be in play..

Version DCS 1.2. all OK.

X-Plane 11 Payware :

Aircraft : Boeing 767-300ER, Airbus 319-100, Airbus 350 XWB, Beechcraft King Air 350, Diamond DA-62

Airport : KATL

I read somewhere Devrim is updating his mods for 1.5 Open Beta. Quite an effort, just be patient, his work is free, cannot complain!

 

I have a complete DCS World copy, separate directory, latest updates, not 1.5, I use just for modding. I intend to keep it just as it is and not 1.5 to play just for SP. I rather doubt the MP community will still be supported once 1.5, 2.0 and Edge get established.

I was about to return to the ugly blender but man, the cockpit is poor. Even at the release the texturing was not great (texturing of large parts of the cockpit was outright rudimentary), now it's disturbing. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1278634&highlight=missing+textures#post1278634

 

Obviously Ricardo's re-texturing makes everything look better but even with re-texturing... Take a look at the altimeter pointers here http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=95633 and then take a look at the altimeter in e.g. MiG-21bis. Here's a poorly lit version but you should get the idea http://www.leatherneck-sim.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/screenshot_6.jpg

Most pointers in the shark look completely flat, like C64 sprites. I doubt it can be modded without changing the actual 3D model.

Don't forget the actual age of the DCS:Ka-50 model versus the mig21bis' model. It's just not fair to compare the quality. In light of it's age, I think the Ka-50 cockpit with the upgraded textures looks brilliant.

I don't mean to compare the actual quality of the two. Merely providing 'somewhat 3D' vs 'completely flat' cockpit instruments. And I stand by what I said. The shark's pit (especially the texturing) was mediocre at best considering the time of release. Have you seen the shark's texture assets? 4 pixel wide pointer textures.

don't need to rename it

just create a new folder there, and put all dds and description.lua into the new folder. Then you can choose that cockpit in option->special->ka-50
