luza Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 Hey guys, a quick question here. I have no problem inputting settings. But if I have landed at an airfield, then taken off. when I go into Wind Edit, the page doesn't display current wind / temp, making me unable to put any inputs into the wind page! (works fine if I start up take off without landing) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Mike Busutil Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 You did not ask your question.... ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Checkout my user files here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/filter/user-is-Mike Busutil/apply/

You have to reenter them again. true for DSMS profiles, additional waypoints not in planner added during first flight, as well as markpoints.. What I do, is before shutdown (specially when I'm ridden), I write down everything then ask chief for ground power, then turn engines off. This way I keep my bird running. AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. luza Posted November 9, 2012 Author Posted November 9, 2012 Does nobody in this forum ever input wind? It is pretty essential to have any sort of precision with unguided ordinance :-/ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Evil.Bonsai Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Does nobody in this forum ever input wind? It is pretty essential to have any sort of precision with unguided ordinance :-/ I never have; been looking at it lately, though. Don't know how to use it just yet, but working on it. Usually, I just look at smokestacks to see which way the wind is blowing, and how hard, then just offset my targeting a bit when using tgp. Kentucky windage, I believe it's called :joystick:
Dave317 Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Are there any tutorials or docs on it? I did a search the other day and didn't come up with much.
oceanoftimeGER Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 (edited) Does nobody in this forum ever input wind? It is pretty essential to have any sort of precision with unguided ordinance :-/ Luza, I would love to use this feature. However, whenever I attempt to input any kind of elevation levels into LASTE such as 06 for 6000 ft (which I think is correct) it comes out as 03 every time. I am not sure if this is a bug or if I am doing something incorrectly but I have followed a tutorial step-by-step. Is anyone else having a similar problem? Edit: Thanks FreeFall, I was looking for that post! To give a better idea of the problem I'm having, if you look at this image (http://www.zen6757.zen.co.uk/Images/LO/5.jpg) you can see under ALT it says 00 and 06. These numbers will always be 03 for me no matter what I type into the CDU. I also recall trying to enter 07 and it coming out as 04 in the LASTE panel, almost random! Dave317 Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 (edited) I didn't see that one, thanks. Ill give it a go next time I'm flying. Does the wind ever change or is it fixed through the whole mission? Edited November 10, 2012 by Dave317
PFunk1606688187 Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 Did you find this old thread?: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1089008#post1089008 Can we get that in the official A-10C Wiki page for the tutorials? Thats by far one of the most useful tuts I've come across. How many times have I felt like dumb bombs have been crap unless I was screaming down at 1500 ft.... This could be one of the bigger deals in my gameplay improvement. Gotta go try this RIGHT NOW. Warning: Nothing I say is automatically correct, even if I think it is.
luza Posted November 11, 2012 Author Posted November 11, 2012 Anyone with any information of why the altitude input is always changed? Also anyone figured out my origional question? Tried re-aligning INS after my landing with no results... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
ENO Posted November 11, 2012 Posted November 11, 2012 (edited) Wow that's perfect! Been wondering about this myself. Still not sure unless mission designers build the pertinent info into the briefing that there is a practical way to get this information in a target area... Climbing out and recording the data may be one way after takeoff but in dynamic weather those settings could be worse than no data at all. Definitely awesome detail though and when you have a chance to polish the cannonball a little- may as well know how! Anyone with any information of why the altitude input is always changed? Also anyone figured out my origional question? Tried re-aligning INS after my landing with no results... Makes me wonder if that quick, temporary cdu error i get while taxing just about all the time has something to do with that? I get it after I've taxied a minute or so after landing... It comes and goes and I think it's a common thing amongst players- a bug perhaps resetting something that affects those readings? The CDU resetting after landing is not a bug. That is how the real system works. This was implemented a few patches ago if I remember correctly.

Dave317 Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 I'm having the same problem. It either enters 03 or cdu error and i can't enter anything.
