Just a thought - I've got my "Mad Genius" hat on today and I've started playing with idea how to attach the joystick below table level with adjustable height to give it more natural feel - is it something that might be interesting for anyone? I'll post pics in day or two

Being a mad genius myself (more mad than genius), I am interested

Well you have my Intrest. Still waiting for the plate to turn up so I can mount the stick and then measure the extension length i would need, but not too sure how well mounting it to the chair, will work.

Look forward to the pics, while u have your genius head on, really could do with a good solution to mount the throttle and the side of a chair. ;)

Just wanted to note how nice it is to see that an occassional minor issue with v1 of the extension has not turned into an unjustified flame war (seems the 'net norm' these days).

Also, for side mounting on a chair - I just drag one of the kids chairs on either side of my chair as a mount when it's game time (ie: they in bed). As long as your actual chair will live without the armrests, the Warthog is so damn heavy and stable it should be fine on any sturdy object the right height (and the makeshift mounts pack away where ever they usually reside, so the boss doesn't get upset).

Just received my extension. Try as I might it will not connect electronically to the stick. The connector isn't working on the top of the extension. The stick works fine without the extension but isn't recognised when I try to attach it to the connector on the top of the extension. Any suggestions before I return it?

Did you modify the PS2 connector per instructions?

I read the thread again and I assume you are talking about modifying the extension so the connectors protrude a little more? My issue (I think) is at the top of the extension where the connector is not making contact with the handle. Getting it to protrude a little more would probably solve the problem but I don't think I'm competent enough or have the tools to do that.

Hi, sorry about the slip up. It shouldn't be too hard to do the fix - there is very little what can go wrong and if you won't have luck let me know and i'll send you a new cable or you can send it back and i'll fixit for you.

All what is required is just philips screw driver, any knife and some glue.

Step

1) undo the top screw on shaft

2) pull out the male plastic bit with connector

3) pull the connector out of the male part (there i a hot glue which is not too hard to remove)

4) strip 2-3mm of the plastic as per photos (i think 1-2 pages back)

5) test if the connector protrues enough ~2mm (put it in without a glue first)

6) use some glue on the connector and insert the connector

7) insert the male end back into shaft and put the screw back.

8 ) patt your self on the back and have a beer - all done!

If you'll get stuck pm me or if you have a skype pm me your nicknme and i'll talk you through it or send you a photo guide

Cheers tomas

Regarding the mount - what kind of chair are you guys mainly using & do you want to have the mount attached to chair or table?

Hi Zahry, at the moment I'm using an Office chair, and I will be attaching it to that.

While I have you on here, I'm still planning to order an extension within the next week, can you confirm or not if the new orders will have to be adjusted as per the instructions above, or will the slight issue be sorted with new orders.

Thanks Zahry - maybe ten years ago I'd of given this a try and I could probably do it, but now I'm just to old to be asked. I appreciate there is likely to be some issues with a new project and I hope you don't mind if I opt to send this back to someone who knows what they are doing.

Hey no worries - I just appreciate the fact there is someone out there with the interest and dedication to do this and I'm glad I have the means to support it.

What is actually the length of your stick extension you show on first page? Do you have a picture of the Color options as well? Orange sounds fancy.

hi, the length is 12,5 cm (~5in). I'll take photos of the colors I have and post it on webpage in day or two. Orange and red looks pretty cool :-)

Zahry,

I received my extension today. I made the mods required to get the electrical portion working properly with no problems.

But I am having the same problem as Wolle had a couple of pages back. The lower female bit does not grab enough threads to hold the extension properly to the warthog base. If I loosen the the six screws around it I can get another thread or so but that does not seem to be a viable fix. If I could put a shim in-between the upper and lower half of the 2 pieces it would put the lower half down some so it could catch more threads and give me a solid connenction but that would also require getting longer screws and fabbing up the shim.

PM me so we can get this resolved.

I do appreciate the work you have put into this.

Thanks in advance for your help.
