I`m requesting feature "Stabilized view to the ground from cabin" like TGP do it.

Real pilots look at the definite point on the ground, but we(sim users) look to the ground with fixed angle(relative aircraft) and ground is moving constantly.

I'm using TrackIR, so I don't need this, but AFAIK there exists some padlock for desired ground point...

Check ingame Options/Controls/Padlocks

Edit> Here it is

Is there any way to move point of view on the ground in Lock terrain view mode? HOTAS slew does not helped.

unlock padlock and relook then lock.

does padlock work with trackIR on? I'd love to move my head to a point with TIR and lock it with padlock.

If so, how to do it? I've mapped the 5 padlocks and none seem to work with TIR on or OFF. any ideas? using 1.1.1.1

Padlocking aircraft does infact work in the A-10. Not sure about the ground though, never tried it. If you set up your TrackIR right you can keep it nice and stabilized on a point on the ground without locking your view though.

could you explain how? trackIR moves constantly with head movements. We need padlocking for terrain, and we need it, NOUWWW!!

Uhm...look at a point on the ground, use 'smoothing' option for TRACKIR, move head along with point you're looking at?

That's how I do it, anyway. Works fine.

UNLESS you mean it keeps a specific point center of screen no matter how you move your aircraft. Then no, it won't do that.

I want to keep looking at a point on the ground. Does padlock ground work ED??

I can't believe TIR doesn't allow to stabilize the view by increasing the smoothness?! Even Freetrack allows that, there's a "stable" button and you can move your head slowly, but it doesn't feel natural at all...

Nor should you believe it. It's called "Precision" mode, default F11. Though I don't think smoothing has anything to do with it - it's just a gain reduction.

Nope, gain stays the same, definately smoothing.

Yeah, you're right. It just feels more like a gain reduction to me, as I only switch it on when I am trying to track an object and I am only making very fine head movements/adjustments.

From 10,000 ft, 7 nm out, zoom in and go slow. disable trackIR. the result is amazing

If you have the head movements disabled it shouldn't be moving. Though if you're moving the aircraft it will follow the motion...

you mean head movements by G forces or head tracking device? cuz I've tried disabling trackIR then padlock ground and it didn't work. Which .LUA should I edit to enable padlocking?

I've searched view.LUA but nothing about padlock.

Lock On FC2 has this file PADLOCK_commands.LUA, but A-10C don't. I'll try copying from LOMAC to A-10C and see if it works.
