Manny Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Eagle Dynamics, et. al., per your request to view a track demonstrater MERs and the WSCP. I have an appropriate load to demonstrate an apparent break in WSCP logic as compared to actual weapon release. Please view at http://home.comcast.net/~ishareef/Weapon_Release_Demo.trk
Ironhand Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Hi Manny, Hope you don't mind, since I'm not with ED, but I took a look at your track. I don't see any problem with the WSCP logic. You set the salvo size to 'ALL' with the release mode switch set to 'SSC-MJM SERIES'. You evidently wanted all MERs to release their bombs. So far so good. What you seemed to forget, however, is that MER munitions on the -25T are released 0.3 seconds apart. In your case, you instructed the system to release a total of 16 bombs. That represents a total of 4.8 seconds from the start of the release sequence to the finish. And you must keep the weapons release button depressed the entire time or you interrupt and stop the release sequence. It looks like you pressed the trigger and, then, let it go rather than continuing to hold it down. For giggles, I took control of your track at the release point and held the trigger down myself. All bombs on the MERs released as they should per your settings. Force_Feedback Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Now Manny, about that manual..... Cheers, - JJ. That's what we shall call "Biatchslapped" from now on :p The gool 'ole manual beats all the noobs (with respect to them, but still: read the freindly manual) Creedence Clearwater Revival:worthy:
Guest EVIL-SCOTSMAN Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 friendly ? heres me thinking it was something else :)
Ironhand Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 In fairness to Manny, I'm not sure the manual clearly states that you must press and HOLD the release button through the entire sequence in the relevant sections. But maybe it does. Who am I to say? Manual? Did we get one? Where do I find that? :) Rich YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCU1...CR6IZ7crfdZxDg _____ Win 11 Pro x64, Asrock Z790 Steel Legend MoBo, Intel i7-13700K, MSI RKT 4070 Super 12GB, Corsair Dominator DDR5 RAM 32GB.
Iron Legionnaire Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Dunno about the manual, but it tells you to hold down the trigger until all munitions are released in the training tracks... About the manual, though... I recall reading/seeing somewhere that bombs on the outermost pylons (2, 3, 7, & 8) are released in symmetric pairs to avoid overly unbalancing the aircraft, whereas bombs can be dropped singly from the innermost pylons (not talking about MERs here). I played the quick-fly Su-25 mission today w/ the default loadout (4 RBK-250s, 2 S-25Ls, 2 MER*4 FAB-100s), and I was able to single-release the RBKs from the outermost pylons. From Page 47 of the Lockon 1.1 Manual Note that even the "NO 1" setting will still release ordnance hung from the outermost weapon stations in symmetric pairs, to avoid excessively unbalancing the aircraft. Only the four innermost wing stations provide individual release with this setting. Was this something that was changed in a patch subsequent to the 1.1 release? To be fair, I'm not really complaining, heh. I'd rather use only the amount of ordnance needed on a target, and it only took a little bit of trim to sort out the imbalance.
504MrWolf Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 all quiet in "Camp Manny" ;) www.VVS504.co.uk www.lockonskins.co.uk
Force_Feedback Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 all quiet in "Camp Manny" ;) Let's hope it stays so, until a real bug is discovered by him. :p Nothing personal though, Manny. :D Creedence Clearwater Revival:worthy:

Manny Posted November 28, 2005 Author Posted November 28, 2005 I don't understand why you have to be so mean just because he made a mistake. Ironhand, thanks buddy, I missed that in the training and thought if choosing the "Zero Time" release and all weapons pickle simultaneously, then the MER/KMGU release mode that is greater than 0.3 seconds will release an order of eggs sunnyside up over a distance. Yellonet, thank you for expressing your understanding of the community you are in... To all with exception to Ironhand and Yellonet, your fanboiism is accepted, please pay your club fees on the alter of your ego... :p Ok that is one mistake I reported, counting "1" Ironhand, what did you think of my hot and heavy approach? Thought the wheels would peel off did ya? :icon_jook
Manny Posted November 28, 2005 Author Posted November 28, 2005 Now Manny, about that manual..... Cheers, - JJ. Hey screw the manual; it doesn't even adequately explain the 25T fuel gauge ... ;) Nevertheless, there is a cadre of LO-MAC fanbois and geeks to rely on so who needs a manual Alfa? Nonetheless, I am satisfied I can now deploy any and all weapons carried by the Su-25T with precision since I understand how to properly use the MERs and FAB-100s.
504 Wolverine Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Well in respect to the other forum members, some of us have flown nothing but the 25 or (in my case) the 25T since 1.1 was released. Do you not think that if this was a bug it would have been spotted already? ;) The only problem that I seen in 1.1 was that if the gunpod was used in conjunction with the laser then only 2 bursts of gunfire was possible but it seems to be fixed now. [/url]
Manny Posted November 28, 2005 Author Posted November 28, 2005 quote=(504) Wolverine Do you not think that if this was a bug it would have been spotted already? ;) No, not necessarily and further more not my concern. If this forum can't be utilized to hash out operator error or legitimate bugs in a civil manner, then I suggest the 25T Fanbois release their passion and sexual frustration in the Falcon 4: AF forums with as much ferver and conviction... ;) I am sure the response will be less than kind. The only problem that I seen in 1.1 was that if the gunpod was used in conjunction with the laser then only 2 bursts of gunfire was possible but it seems to be fixed now. I never encoutered this problem in the 25T. There is a gun configuration control allowing continuous fire but I am sure you already know that.
