Blaze Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 http://files.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/86353/ You don't have to put the .dds texture in the zip like it states, just drop it in TempTextures. i7 7700K | 32GB RAM | GTX 1080Ti | Rift CV1 | TM Warthog | Win 10 "There will always be people with a false sense of entitlement. Olivia Elliott, of the 40th Flight Test Squadron, climbs into her A-10 Thunderbolt II prior to a test mission Jan. 10, at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. Her mission was to wrap up flight testing of the new Net-T software upgrade on the LITENING II advanced targeting pod. The new upgrade allows the pod to provide ground forces beyond line of sight command and control capabilities as long as the aircraft is within range. This is the first-ever test of this new capability. bladechaser Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 http://files.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/86353/ You don't have to put the .dds texture in the zip like it states, just drop it in TempTextures. now i put the dds file into my temp textures file C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Bazar\TempTextures started up the game no change .. wondering if there is another temp textures folder ?
Arctic Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 Hey, ...\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\aircrafts\A-10C\Cockpit\Resources\Model\Textures In this folder is the file "A_10C_C_EDM_TEX.zip". Open it, backup the original A-10C-glass-REFLECT.dds and replace it with the new (a, b or c). But, sadly, the middle window is yellow too. I tried to tint it but im bad at it.... middle window is colored in the left yellow colored window part, too, but i cant find the exact part of it... I already asked Ricardo for help but he seems to be really busy with his A10 cockpit mod...
Milli Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 I tried to get this working too but to no avail. The middle screen is yellow as noted above. Would really like to have this mod working. Regards, Milli

Arctic Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 Then try to cut the .zip to your desktop. Open it there, backup the original file, paste the new file and copy/paste the edited .zip into the old folder again... ...but for me it worked without this... :noexpression:
Milli Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 I think I've cracked it. Seems to be working ok. The front quarter windows are tinted while the side and front windows remain clear. See attached picture. Go to your .....DCS World\Mods\aircrafts\A-10C\Cockpit\Resources\Model\Textures folder. Here you will find a zip file called A_10C_C_EDM_TEX.zip What you need to do is open this A_10C_C_EDM_TEX.zip file (after first making a backup copyof it), find the file inside called A-10C-glass-REFLECT.dds and delete it from that zip file. Then, put my A-10C-glass-REFLECT.dds (found inside the attached zip file below) into the A_10C_C_EDM_TEX.zip file. Colour and strength of the tint can be changed by editing the .dds file. I used photoshop with the NVIDIA DDS plug-in. You can try GIMP Freeware as well but I'm not familiar with that one. Would like to hear any remarks to try to fine tune it further. I'm new to dds files and modding in general so please bear with me. Regards, MilliA-10C-glass-REFLECT.zip 1
Rider1 Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Tinted widows are present in Quad 1. We lost that, and wingtip vortices when A10C was assimilated into World.
Arctic Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 We lost the wingtip vortices in 1.2.3 i think, im pretty sure they were still there in 1.2.2 I will try this new reflections file later:thumbup:
Skulleader Posted March 30, 2013 Author Posted March 30, 2013 Hello Milli, I've tested your reflections file and I can say that everything is OK, perfect work :clap_2: I really love this new tinted window, congratulation for your work and your sharing  Best regards, Skull. Britchot Posted April 1, 2013 Posted April 1, 2013 That's not a pitot tube, but a fuel probe. It was fitted to the test aircraft for the biofuel program back in 2010. Source: http://www.eglin.af.mil/news/story.asp?id=123196918 Unfortunately, it is not a fuel probe, either. The two different wind vanes attached to the end of the probe are to measure different angles of attack that the aircraft encounters during flight. There is normally some sort of temperature gauge embedded as well as other measurement devices. It's out in front of the aircraft so it is not spoiled by the airflow of the fuselage. This sort of measurement tool is attached to various types of aircraft during tests so the "10-pound brains" can crunch numbers later.
