It has come to our attention recently that several players flying in our dedicated server are abusing the global chat function by taunting and harassing other players after being shot down.

After reviewing the chat logs we would like to point out what we deem as unacceptable in our server and will not be tolerated from anyone;

Swearing at another player,

Complaining in global chat about the number of missiles fired at you,

Complaining in global chat about the number of aircraft engaging you,

Complaining in global chat about the type of missile fired at you,

Trying to ridicule other players for extending away from you,

Trying to ridicule Fighters who have shot down Striker aircraft,

All of the above are not appropriate behavior in our server, we have worked very hard over the years to give the community a platform that can be enjoyed by everyone and not dominated by the bullying trash talking culture of games like Call of Duty and Battlefield 3.

If you must complain about an engagement and cannot contain yourself it may ONLY be done on Coalition/team chat, any type of outburst on global chat is unacceptable. If you do not think it was a good kill on behalf of your opponent you may only complain about it to your team otherwise say nothing at all.

We have asked our server admins to be on the lookout for clients in our server abusing these rules and offenders will be warned in game. Anyone who cannot abide by these rules after a warning will be removed from the server as we will not allow this type of behavior to continue.

On a more positive note we have also noticed through the logs that more and more players are using team chat to work together and help other players with any problems and pointing them to our teamspeak server. We hope this will continue and we can maintain a healthy server where players feel comfortable flying in and don't have to worry about being antagonized by other people.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation,

Can you please clarify this rule with respect to fighters shooting down Ka-50 please .

Many feel its unfair for (example) an F-15 to shoot down an enemy Ka-50 .

I feel that as long as they shoot up our targets , their fair game . After all , isnt that how the mission is won , taking out ground targets ? All is fair in love & war !!!

Good and honest set of rules though , and thanks for one of the best servers out there :pilotfly:

Indeed... There are 104th hosted missions where you're SUPPOSED to attrite enemy A2G forces, and others where you physically can't, due to triggers. If you are in an A2G role that is at risk because your CAP support sucks, well better hide, call in support, get in a fighter, or just leave. Complaining about it is just whining at that point. :)

It is not against our rules at all in any way.

Every aircraft that flies in our missions must accept the risks, they are flying in a simulated war zone, there are no provisions to ensure anyone's safety regardless of the type of aircraft flown.

Complete approvement. I would ask the extension of moderation to that kind of attitude to all chats. Sometimes it's completely annoying having to abstract to someone complaining about absurd things.

If a Ka-50 get detected by a radar, it is doing it wrongly and should be shot!

Most understand these unwritten rules but since FC3 there seems to be an influx of players that weren't present in FC2 who have this childish sour loser/obnoxious COD attitude. Hopefully for their sake they'll soon learn this trash talk is not accepted or else have to face a humble chat in ts just to fly again.

Also i've never understood why someone chooses to chat one solitary swear word if they crash etc. surely just saying the word releases more frustration and also keeps your respect intact.

Swearing, bullying and derisery remarks have no place in DCS servers, this is where the grown ups have fun.

I think these rules should be respected as global, thanks Maverick and Polecat for putting it up.

Here's a few pointers mate:

A Ka-50 travelling at 250km/h is visible on a F-15 look down Radar ~30nmiles.

At ~80km/h this represents about 15-20nmiles detection.

And then something magic happens at about ~70km/h .... on look down, a Ka-50 is practically invisible right up to a merge situation, on enemy radar. ;)

Oh and if you think it is a Su/Mig: EOS lock in the rear hemisphere for a Ka-50 is about ~7km.

But Head on is about ~3km. So think twice before you run away. Best thing to do is travel slowly <70km low and face where your opponent.

I thought the modeled Doppler notch velocity was 140 km/h. It was in FC2, or at least, that's what everyone told me.

Lies. Well...

It has a stepwise character to it. Whoever said that to you probably loves shooting down choppers. I fly at 120-80 for that second step 15-20miles detection. If I want to remain really safe, I'll set up flight director and trim out for <70ish and and go watch youtube for a while. :D

Please add ground control commanders for those of us without sticks at the moment! :)

Sorry sir, Combined Arms will not be ran on our server until it becomes more stable in a MP environment, until such time it will be pilots only, but we are looking forward to when we can change this!

I often turn on AP and go watching TV or just Alt-Tab game for browse forum and so on. Sometimes when I get back to game it is too late for reaction lol :D

Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D

Rules and briefs have been modified:

* Exiting flight while engaged with enemy and exiting before dying is not allowed. You must wait for server messages if you are unable to return to base if hit.

Then I will gladly ram my plane straight into the ground. No one will take me but me... XD. In all seriousness though, It sucks people do that.
