Now if you want a new in the crate suncom SFS drop me a line i still have one https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.
Nealius Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 What is it that drives the prices of these HOTAS sets? Even the TM Cougar is still fairly expensive (from my point of view) despite its age. Is it the fact that these look like the real deal, or is the technology used in them really that good? I've always found my old refurbished X52 to be plenty...
cichlidfan Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 I suspect a part of the price is due to limited demand. There certainly is nothing expensive about the technology involved. There is also the possibility that the various companies consider us, as a group, to be complete idiots who will pay stupid amounts of money for our toys. :D ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero, i7-6700K, Noctua NH-D14 Cooler, Crucial 32GB DDR4 2133, Samsung 950 Pro NVMe 256GB, Samsung EVO 250GB & 500GB SSD, 2TB Caviar Black, Zotac GTX 1080 AMP! SkateZilla Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 Cougars are expensive because there's nothing else that comes close for F-16/Falcon4+ People Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2), ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9) 3x ASUS VS248HP + Oculus HMD, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + MFDs
Nealius Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 But the Cougars still have flaws...I guess that's why they're just barely cheaper than the TM Hog.
Cali Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 But the Cougars still have flaws...I guess that's why they're just barely cheaper than the TM Hog. Yes, they still have flaws, but people still buy them and mod them. I just bought one 2 months ago, it has the uber mod, but I may go force sensing. i7-4820k @ 3.7, Windows 7 64-bit, 16GB 1866mhz EVGA GTX 970 2GB, 256GB SSD, 500GB WD, TM Warthog, TM Cougar MFD's, Saitek Combat Pedals, TrackIR 5, G15 keyboard, 55" 4K LED
Nealius Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 Meh, been there done that with modding (and creating my own missions and a bunch of other stuff). Net result is me spending more time modding/creating than actually flying lol.
Bloodbath Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 TM eagle is my choice. Find your wild bird food at wildbirddirect
Razor5-1 Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 I really hope they will make one as I believe there is a big market for it, I'd prefer both! But if they decide on only one then I'd hope they make a replica of one OR the other and not some awful hybrid mix of the two, they are similar but not identical especially since the throttles are very different.
