Guys, it is not funny. It is war!!! Blood, death and suffering. It is impossible compare with game.

"Педаль до упора, штурвал на себя и вдруг что-то

Меня опрокинет, закружит, потянет к земле.

Сочувствую всем, кто ни разу не пробовал штопор,

Считаю, что им не достался счастливый билет..."

true Beslan happened after years of war, but the war happened becuse a bunch of terrorists had taken over Chenchya...so yet again the reason I say Russsia was right in invading in the first place.

I thought it was interesting to see a good ol' HMMWV in that video. I have been told that it was a vehicle that was captured from insurgent forces.

If you guys are interested in the Russian/Chechnyan conflict, you might wanna try the "kodori Gorge" campaign found here:

http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=10359

some quotes from the mission briefings:

Beslan school

September 14th, 2004. The Russian media alleged last week that one of the terrorist suspects, allegedly behind the hostage-taking in Beslan school, is hiding in the Kodori gorge.

Georgian border patrol has spotted Russian helo's and believe they will penetrate Georgian airspace within 15 minutes to search for them.

Allthough they are not authorized to do so, they must not be shot down by Georgian fighters (if any).

You are assigned a 30 minute CAP mission between waypoint 1 and 2.

ATA at WP1 is 10:20hrs

ROE: Do not stray from your route. Only engage Georgian fighters when you or the Russian choppers are under attack.

Downed UN helicopter

October 2001. An Mi-8 chopper with UN observers took off from Dranda this morning and headed for the Kodori gorge. A few hours later the tower picked up a mayday signal from that flight when it was just north of Amtqelia after which all communications ceased.

Neither Georgia or Abkhazia (a self proclaimed autonomous republic of Soviet Georgia since the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991) claim to be responsible. Intel suspects that Chechen rebels (that are known to operate in the Kodori gorge) downed the Mi-8.

A SAR mission with two Blackhawks is taking off as we speak and you are tasked to provide A2G cover near the crash-site.

You are cleared to RTB when the rescue party heads home

Bridge to conflict

October, 2001. UN observers in Sukhumi report a Abkhaz convoy heading for the Kodori Gorge. We fear that they will meet Georgian troops near the village of Giorgievskoe.

To prevent the population of this village to become innocent victims, the UN wants to bring the Abkaz convoy to a halt without any casualties.

You are tasked to destroy the bridge near Giorgievskoe and thus bringing the Abkhaz convoy to a halt.

TOT is approx. 8 minutes

No casualties on both forces are allowed due to your attack on the bridge.

Gorge reinforcement

October 10th, 2001. Several Su-25 fighters aircraft (that Georgian authorities alleged had come from Russia) bombed the vicinity of Sakeni and Omarishara village in the Kodori Gorge yesterday morning. No casualties were reported.

Following the air strike, the Georgian MOD announced to fortify its troops in the Kodori Gorge in order to protect ethnic Georgians living there from separatist attacks.

Abkhaz leadership denounced this move as a "step towards war".

Allthough the UN doesn't approve of the move either, fightings between Georgian and Abkhaz troops are considered worse.

Intel reports that some 700 Georgian troops are now heading for the upper part of the gorge.

You are tasked to fly a 20 minute CAP mission some 15 miles west of the Georgian convoy.

You are to patrol along the line between waypoints 1 and 2 that are 20 miles apart. Any boogies crossing your flightpath from the west are considered hostile and may be shot down.

Do NOT engage boogies that stay west of the line.

Eyes on Frogfoots

October 18th, 2001. Su-25 fighters and military helicopters bombed the Kodori Gorge and the Marukhi Pass yesterday. Georgian officials claimed that Su-25 fighters flew from Russian territory, while helicopters approached from Sukhumi.

Tiblisi fears ground attacks will happen again today and has requested assistance from US F-15's.

You are tasked to fly a 20 minute CAP mission north of the Kodori Gorge.

ROE: Engage hostile fighters that are within 10 miles of your CAP area only!

Enough talk; You are cleared for take off, right after the F-4's.

Railway train ceasure

October 24th, 2001. Ever since the Sovjet union collapsed, Russia has promised to remove it's fascillities from Georgias airbase Gudauta. They still haven't done so and Georgia has set an ultimatum; Either remove troops and equipment or Georgia will step back as member of the new Russian federation.

Georgia's resources (oil) are to valuable for Russia so they have agreed to remove all equipment and troops from Gudauta.

Today the last train with equipment is scheduled to leave Gudauta and head for Russia.

However, Novyjafon radiostation reported breaking news that Abkhaz millitia men have ceased a railway train (carrying "kub" airdefense systems) inside a tunnel just north of Novyjafon.

You are tasked to put an end to this hijack by attacking the terrorist vehicules with precision weapons.

The railway tunnels must NOT be destroyed.

PS: Due to maintenance on the taxi lane, only 2/3 of the runway is available for take off. A follow-me car will take you to the runway entry.

Sakeni-Chuberi pass

December, 2001. Getting to the Kodori gorge is no easy matter. Ever since the main road linking it to the outside world was closed by Abkhaz troops in 1993, the only way in has been along a rough trail through the Sakeni-Chuberi pass.

A convoy of trucks (as part of an annual transport organised by the Georgian authorities) delivering flour for locals who are cut off from the outside world due to the snow, are stranded at the start of the Sakeni-Chuberi pass.

Not the snow but Georgian- partizans and Chechen rebels are preventing the convoy from crossing the Sakeni-Chuberi pass. They have occupied the out-post on top of the pass and threaten to engage anyone trying to cross it.

Scouts report a handfull of military armour at the out-post.

You are task to destroy the enemy vehicules and leave the structures at the out-post unharmed.

You will be escorted by F16's, allthough A2A threat is believed to be non-existent.

Weather conditions are poor but the target area lays well above the curent cloud level and visibility there is good.

You will be flying above mountainous terrain. Break through the clouds (8000ft) before you reach waypoint1.

PS: Two CH53's are on their way to resupply the out-post. Make sure all threats are destroyed before they arrive.

PPS: Due to maintenance of one of the exit-lanes, you must roll out to the end of the runway after landing and take the last exit to taxi to the parking area.

Relocation

March, 2002. After all equipment and troops have been removed from former Russian airbase Gudauta, Abkhaz authorities has asked UN forces to help re-build the airbase into an operational airfield.

Several transport aircraft are scheduled to depart from Dandra AFB, to re-supply Gudauta.

It is most likely (especially since not all russian Anti-Aircraft hardware has been counted for) that Chechen rebels will try to provoke a war between Abkhazia and Georgia by engaging incoming transport aircraft with military hardware that they stole.

You are tasked to search and destroy SAM/AAA threats in a 10 mile radius around Gudauta airfield.

Your flight package comprises:

Enfield; 2x A-10A's

Colt; 2x F-18C's

Dodge; 2x A-10A's (your flight)

Navy helo's are enroute to Gudauta with troops to secure the airbase. Their ATA is 40 minutes.

The first transport aircraft will arrive around 11:45hrs

Keep your eyes open for threats until both transports have landed.

You will relocate to Gudauta aswell.

PS: Do not engage SAMs at the Russian airbase Adler.

Peacekeepers retreat

April 12th, 2002. Tensions in Kodori continued in 2002, despite a UN-brokered protocol signed by Russia and Georgia on April 2 that called for the withdrawal of Georgian forces by April 10, and the resumption of joint patrols by Russian peacekeepers and UN observers.

Yesterday Russia dispatched a group of soldiers to Kodori in what it called a peacekeeping operation. After protests from Georgian and UN officials, who had not been notified in advance of the troop deployment, Russia promised to withdraw the soldiers today.

The Russian troops made camp near Arhyz tonight (waypoint1) and start their withdrawl from there. Once all troops are moving north of waypoint2 you may RTB.

You are authorized to engage troops that are straying in other directions ONLY.

Do not fly beyond waypoint2 or you'll be entering Russian airspace.

It goes without saying that you'll be held responsible for your wingman's action too.
