UH-1H Helios Profile?

Care to help me out mate, never used Helios before, but I have an Ipad that is sitting itching to be used!

 

Any tutorials for putting it on the ipad.

I'm using a laptop for running the sim and displaying it through a projector over the laptops HDMI port. I am also running the air display app to connect the iPad to the laptop.

 

I downloaded the Helios software and loaded the Huey profile. I had to resize the panels and the monitor settings needed tweaking.

 

I'm currently trying to adjust the settings to remove the laptop display from the equation. Helios is seeing three displays. Not sure if it will work with the laptop screen off yet though.

 

Ill give a more detailed description once I play with it a little more.

Once that is set up and running.

 

What I have done is download the helios profile from this thread.

 

Opened it up in the helios profile editor. You will see two monitors, 1 above 2.

 

Then I opened up another instance of the profile editor, you will see your setup as 1 and 2 side by side.

 

I then copied the screen from the loaded profile using crtl-a and the pasted it into my ipad monitor, to resize you have to hold down shift while dragging the blue outline. To get the blue outline to show up all around the controls I clicked top left of the loaded graphics.

 

Lower the zoom level so you can see the whole ipad screen and using the shift grab, maximize the graphics into the screen area.

 

Save profile as a new name, I have saved it as ipad.

 

Open up the helios control panel and test run the profile. You will see it appearing on your ipad.

 

Job done.

 

I will make a video if it is needed tomorrow night.

Use the Ipad its a good idea, but note that my profile is configured for a secondary monitor at 1920x1080. For use with an iPad as a monitor, you will have to modify the size and/or layout of controls.

I have seen that there are gauge-exports for android-tablets... so wouldnt it be similar to get those data for helios??

just questioning, i have no idea of programming and such things.

You can add your controller as an interface in the Helios Profile editor. From there you can add keyboard inputs to it. Look in the top left corner of the editor under "profile" and "add interface."

Not sure how it will work with a 100% homemade joystick, but I modded my old X-52 into a collective and it shows up as an X-52. So if you used an old joystick to make your collective, it will probably show up in the list.

I have mine setup so when i use my joystick to switch from guns to rockets, the helios switch will also change states, so its always in the correct position.

Hi...can you tell me if you can see kneeboard/map in shaded (greyed area) window in your profiel? Is it live feed from kneeboard from the game itself?

Yes, its easy. You can edit the monitorconfig.lua and modify the size and position of the kneeboard.

 

If you want, i could create a new profile version with the kneeboard and map buttons in center.
