Razor5-1 Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 I noticed this just after 1.2.4, When I jump into a Russian aircraft sometimes there will be a very loud solid noise coming from apparently the left side of the cockpit somewhere. happens when I start cold and dark at the ramp and never stops. It doesn't happen all the time, only some times and I can't seem to turn it off, only happens in Russian FC3 birds and 25T. Anybody else getting this?
HiJack Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Solved by doing this: 1. Attend Metallica rock consert 2. Were no ear protection 3. Make sure to be in front This is the result: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tinnitus I got it and I can't say I hear the noice in Russian aircrafts ;)
aceviper Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Make sure to stand with your right ear facing to the stage...that way you will be balanced beautifully...ringing in both ears...
Mazzic Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 its most probably your wingman, they do not start cold anymore since 1.2.4. also units which are set as uncontrolled do start with engines running.
Razor5-1 Posted May 9, 2013 Author Posted May 9, 2013 No it's not tinnitus or a wingman, just my own A/C. I recorded a track but the noise does not show up in the track, it sounds very much like an RWR noise almost.
PeterP Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Is it like this ? Have this sound issue too in various planes/modules. Here is how I can reproduce this bug 100% - in the Su-27: 1. Use attached Mission "All planes-modules test.miz" 2. First Select the P-51D 3. [ESC] > Briefing > Back > Select the Su-27. = whining noise All planes-modules test.miz (6.4 KB)
ED Team NineLine Posted May 23, 2013 ED Team Posted May 23, 2013 Hey guys I got this on the weekend during a test session in the Su-27, I switched slots and it went away, nobody else had it so I thought nothing of it, now I see others are having the exact same thing, I am going to report it now. Thanks! Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
ED Team NineLine Posted May 23, 2013 ED Team Posted May 23, 2013 Well, now I cant recreate it, let me know if you guys are still seeing (hearing that is) it, maybe its something that goes away after restarting the game? Dunno.... Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
PeterP Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 no - it don't just 'goes away' (like a cold) - doesn't my instruction work for you?
Stonehouse Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 (edited) I've been trying to learn mission building and triggering delayed starts for enemy a/c and found the noise in my mission which is attached. If you take Colt 1-1 you air start (I'm trying to test the triggers) and get the noise - sounds like dry bearings or a pump failing. I say this because the initial version of this mission Colt 1-1 was a ramp start and the noise began the instant I switched on the fuel booster pump and turning it off didn't get rid of the noise. Cheers, Stonehouse PS I don't get the noise when I do the ramp start instant mission for the P51 which may explain the trouble reproducing the error. I just hope it appears in my attached mission, I definitely hear it when I fly it and it's really irritating ;D so hopefully fixed soon Edited May 23, 2013 by Stonehouse
zaelu Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 I notice it too... I think is Berioza noise but with no modulation. If I make a mission with many "client" planes sometimes when starting the mission from ME when I pick a plane from briefing page I get the noise... I press escape... briefing... back... select same plane (or other) and click fly and the sound goes away. I friend reported this once in a multiplayer mission and we ignored it because it got away as soon as he switched plane and we gave no more importance. Stonehouse Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Yes I was flying/testing my mission from within the editor as well when I got the background whine/screech.
logixxxxx99 Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Since DCS World 1.2.4.12547 patch there is a critical P-51D sound error in the complex multiplayer missions ! However in the normal game does not present the wrong P-51D sound. Even in case of an old, simplier multiplayer mission does not present the stupid P-51D sound. I have removed all of the fw-190 plains from the mission and the P-51D sound problem vanished ! You can solve the problem when you change all of the fw-190 to an other airplane type ! The ticket is still open at ED !!! It's a critical bug !
ED Team NineLine Posted May 23, 2013 ED Team Posted May 23, 2013 no - it don't just 'goes away' (like a cold) - doesn't my instruction work for you? No, I tried a number of ways to recreate it again and I could not. I will try again tonight when I get home. Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
Stonehouse Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 (edited) Interesting about the FW190 logixxxxx99 - I will change them to 109s or something and see if I get the same results. It would explain why I don't get the problem in instant action. Just one other thing, the noise is present in MP too. I hosted the mission I attached a couple of posts up and had a friend join without mentioning the issue to him but had him talk through his start up - the sec he turned on the fuel booster his immediate comment was what was the horrible noise. <edit> Ok I changed my mission to have 109s only and found that the ringing/whining noise still happens when I turn on the fuel pump so for me at least it is not related to the FW190s combined with the P51 <end edit> Edited May 23, 2013 by Stonehouse
ED Team NineLine Posted May 23, 2013 ED Team Posted May 23, 2013 (edited) Ok, looks like it is somehow related to the 190, and it looks like it has been fixed in a tester version. Stonehouse Posted May 23, 2013 Posted May 23, 2013 Just curious Sithspawn, were you able to try the mission I attached and get the same issue? If you had tried it and didn't have a problem then it would tend to imply a difference between my DCS environment (and the others hearing it) and yours was possibly the cause.

No, your mission has the noise for me as well, I think they have it fixed though, so next update should correct it. Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
Buzpilot Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 I got the same sound tonight too. After I crash to ground with that sound from Beryoza,in a Su-25, it was in my next respawn. PeterP Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 (edited) It's not fixed in 1.2.6.18933 . Create a mission with all flyable planes and jump in/out of the various cockpits (I do this often to test my mods). Sooner or later you will end with this whining sound in one of the Russian planes. Vedexent Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 I've never had this happen on single player, but on a multi-player server, I've had this happen several times recently. I leave an aircraft (or die, or crash) I get a new aircraft from the multiplayer menu I get that tone - and yes, it's the one in the YouTube video I leave that plane, and go back to the main multiplayer menu I re-select the plane No tone And yes, I have the latest - October 8th - update.
