Title says it all, did a search but couldn't find anything.

Has anyone converted the A-10A campaign from FC3 to A-10C?

I'd love to fly a new A10 campaign but I much prefer the DCS level -C over the mid fidelity -A.

I tried doing it myself, but it wouldn't let me save the missions.

Anyone?

Hmm, interesting idea. Maybe also replace the trigered smoke marker with a real jtac. Shouldn't be that hard. :)

You most likely couldn't save the mission because you weren't running DCS World as admin. Those missions are in /Program Files/ and you need admin rights to change them.

I don't think that was it; I always run DCS as admin.

...uh actually I was just able to do it. Hm. Maybe the one mission was just giving me a hard time? I'll convert them all tomorrow and report back

Very nice. I'm always on the lookout for new campaigns for the Hog

Just bumping this old thread. Did anybody have any luck converting The Valley from A10A to A10C? I just tried changing the aircraft type in the mission builder and then adding the campaign files to the A10C. It didn't work though, I had an error :/

Yeah I did start it, it's best to copy the campaign into the user mission folder I

Found. But you can change the folder from read only if you

Want to permanently change the original mission. I can't cOnfirm but i think if you leave it in the original folder it wil revert to the original mission if you update the version.

Changing the airframe is obviously not difficult but like eluded to if you want to add jtac, it seems there is no AI logic, and all targets must be manually inputted into the trigger script. This was the point where i ran out of motivation.

Remember you can play with any of the official missions on the editor. Doing the Shore campaign but in the SU-25T in a SEAD role is definately interesting, especially if you try and run past the Osas trying to get to the Grumbles.

What I do is start the campaign mission in single player.

Once you have got the briefing screen up for that mission go to the change load out screen so you can see the map then exit back to the main dcs world screen and click on the mission editor.

The mission you just loaded in the single player will now show up in the mission editor. Not sure if this is a bug but I have been able to edit single player campaigns like this since the early days.

Change the aircraft to A-10C and then save the mission as a different name in a separate folder on your hard drive (I use a folder I have created on the desktop)

You can see all the triggers and what not that was created in the original single player campaign. I use this especially for examples where the uh-1 doors open and close as a certain altitude and speed like they do in the 2nd mission in the single player huey campaign.

EDIT: unfortunately you would need to do it this way for every mission in the single player campaign as this is the only effective way I have found it to be done so far.

I have been working on this conversion in my spare time for the past few weeks. It's almost done and will most likely be available this week. :)

That is great news winz, thank you for your work!
