Is there an easy way? The sight keeps bouncing around. I know you can ground stabilize but it still starts jumping about when you try move it again.:helpsmilie:

Set a markpoint on the target first. Then slew Mav to markpoint and TMS Fwd Short until Mav tracks.

Yeah I would either set a SPI with the TGP on your target and then slew all to the SPI or set a markpoint on the target and slew all to it. Either way you can use that method to get your Maverick seeker to look directly at the target.

Now, I'm not the best at weapons employment but I've only had one AGM-65 miss the target and only had 2 that never got a lock out of about 20 or 30 launches (I'm not keeping track so that's a wide ranged guess). When the seeker is looking at the target I have the white cross hair lines that are broken in the middle. Like I said, a couple of times it hasn't "locked" but it usually does, and it always stays put where I've slewed it unless I manually slew it and then it is hard to get where I want it.

If you use a maverick with a HUD bore indicator, boresight it, then point the whole plane towards a point close to it, and keep the TVV there. You can reduce the slewing rate for finer tune..

Your best option is almost always going to slaving the Mav to your SPI. My method most of the time is setting a target as SPI using the TGP (TMS up short to set point mode, TMS up long to set as SPI). Then slave the Mav to the SPI by using china hat forward long. DMS up short once you're in range to lock with the Mav.

Now if you have a line of targets and you fire off one Mav, I usually use the Mav camera to lock the adjacent target. You can modify the slew speed of the Mav by changing the slew value (lower numbers slew faster, higher numbers slew slower). Between a good curve for my stick and slower slew rates for the Mav, I can usually ease the Mav onto the next target in line with little fight. Takes practice.

I rarely ground stabilize my Mavs actually but I'm going to renew that effort for next time and see if it helps.

Interrogative: is this supposed to be TMS up short? I just ask because I'm easily confused and want to make sure I'm doing it right. TMS up short works for me but if there is a better way to do it I want to know about it. Thanks.

TMS not DMS.

Correct - I mistyped.

I used to have the two misnamed in my head so I am prone to mixing them even though in practice I'm always using the correct one.

is a very good Tutorial by Ralfidude, you should check out his other "Idiot Guides" as well. In general he's making either fun to watch DCS vids and you learn something from them, well, in short: i like em :D
