Mine has a modified missile launch I placed for the mod that is taken from BMS, therefore I cannot share it, but this should convince you to install this:

There are some radar missiles with their own lock sounds defined in ALR69_param.lua, but you are talking about the generic missile launch warning? How did you do that, what line in which .lua did you change for that?

You don't have to edit any .lua files for that IIRC (did the same edit myself many months ago). You only need to find the missile launch sound and replace it. Hope that helps, if you can't figure it out I'll post up something more detailed when I get back to the home computer

System specifications: Computer, joystick, DCS world, Beer

Smokey has it right. The files is called Launch Warning US or something like that in the SOUNDS folder. What I did was modify the _MODs folder so that there is the option to do it straight from JSGME and not have to manually do it every time.

It's fun to change the sounds a bit. I also made my own flares sound to make them pop out a bit more and have more life to them. They are rather quiet in game.

Yeah, I found it! Thanks you two! :o)

Those who have not jumped on board yet.

Do it.

It's awesome and much more immersive than the standard RWR sounds.

Thanks for the vid Ralfi!

Does it work with 1.2.7?

Sorry to all for the absence, day-job has been kind of hectic. Haven't had a chance to test if all is fine with 1.2.7 but hopefully nothing has changed. Let me know if anything needs updating and I will get it fixed.

I use it (thanks for the mod by the way) and it seems working perfectly!

As long as ED doesn't change sound file system, this mod (or other sound mods) will work always.

:helpsmilie:

I installed this mod a few days ago and I LOVE it. After playing BMS the A-10 RWR default sounds sounded a bit bland, but this mod is great. But one thing I cant quite figure out is how to tell the difference between when an airborne threat is locked on to you( or at least using a high radar 'refresh rate' if that's a thing, like in the f-15 where you enter TWS?) and when its just in search? IIRC in BMS, it would play the radar tone a lot quicker, almost continuously, but in this I just get the infrequent tone of say a Su-27 until they launch a R-27 then I get some indications after? IS this a problem on my side, or something I am missing? Still a great mod regardless, thanks for creating it!!!

Could someone suggest why this isn't working for me please? I've only got about 3 mods currently so I'm fairly noobish on it all but this is the only one I can't get to work?

I copied the file "ARL69_param" from Tetra's download folder and pasted it into the identical destination folder in Program Files>Eagle Dynamics>DCS World>Mods>aircrafts>A-10C>Cockpit>Scripts>AN_ARL69V>device, and then replaced it when it prompted me, but in game it has made no difference? The old plain RWR tones are still active, what have I done wrong?

Try to install into {username}\Saved Games\DCS folder.

If not exits, create a Sounds folder in DCS folder, and add these folders: Effects\Aircrafts\Cockpits\RWR

I installed this mod under RWR folder, and it's working...

I installed this mod under RWR folder, and it's working...

Just as GC1993 in the post above you i installed this mod using JSGME according to the readme.txt but somehow it doesn't work?

If i install it with JSGME, shouldn't the original folders not be backed up and then overwritten by the mod? Because this doesn't happen.

JSGME creates RAE_MOD folder in the main DCS World folder which contains the correct mod files.

Because this doesn't work, i made a backup of the files in the directory's where the new files are supposed to go and then copied the new files into their place... still no joy.

The way Devrim describes it is sure not the way to go (i also tried to copy it into {username}\Saved Games\DCS folder), no joy either.

What am i doing wrong?

JSGME creates RAE_MOD folder in the main DCS World folder which contains the correct mod files.

That is the issue, the original rar isn't set up for JSGME by default, the RAE_MOD folder shouldn't be in your DCS installation. The contents of it "Mods" and "Sounds" should be however.

To use it with JSGME, you would need to: (I don't use JSGME personally so I hope this is correct)

1: Navigate to your JSGME _MODS folder

2: Open the RAE mod rar file you downloaded and navigate (inside the rar) to the RAE_MOD folder.

3: Drag that RAE_MOD folder into your JSGME _MODS folder.

4: Activate it with JSGME

So your final file paths should look like

_MODS\RAE_MOD\Mods

_MODS\RAE_MOD\Sounds

Alternatively manually you can do it as follows:

1: Download RAE mod 3.1 (the one that says RAE MOD v3.1

Full mod, all files.) on the first page of my thread. You can also grab it directly from this link:

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...ANSION_3.1.rar

or the user file section: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/421081/

2: Once downloaded extract the rar file anywhere you like.

3: From inside the extracted mod go to this folder

RAE_RWR_AUDIO_EXPANSION\RAE_MOD\

And you will see two folders, "Mods" and "Sounds". Select both and copy them.

4: Go to your DCS installation folder. For example mine is

C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\

Now paste the "Mods" and "Sounds" folders from my mod folder into that directory and overwrite any files if asked.

5: Mod should now be working for the A-10C

If you wish to uninstall the mod all you need to do is go back to my mod folder (from the rar file you extracted) but this time go here

RAE_RWR_AUDIO_EXPANSION\ORIGINALS_BACKUP\

and again copy the "mods" and "sounds" folders from there back into

C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\

or wherever your DCS is installed. There are only two files that are overwritten by the mod, the first is

Mods\aircrafts\A-10C\Cockpit\Scripts\AN_ALR69V\device\ALR69_param.l ua

and the second is

Sounds\Effects\Aircrafts\Cockpits\RWR\ThreatNewUS. wav

Aside from that it just also includes a lot of ogg files for the various RWR sound effects which can be left if you uninstall the mod as they are tiny.

Thanks: Works fine now (through JSGME).
