zaGURUinzaSKY Posted January 9, 2006 Author Posted January 9, 2006 I'll do some test later and let you all know precisely the differences. Robbie.

RvEFoxteR Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 Erdem can you please quote me the the sentences written by my squad mates that made you think we are acting childish? Let's not start insulting each other cause that will not bring us any good. Everybody made a big mess about these simple tweaks not to mention that the force feedback disabling issue has been covered in many posts months back, actually it was a very popular tweak back in the 1.02 patch coz it was a fps saver and we all know that fps are very valuable in this game, every extra gained 5 fps makes a whole different feeling in flying. About this joystick tweak I also do not see such a great importance in advising the whole community about it since my squad member AS when discovered this he was still playing around with it, changing many values to see if it really makes a difference. I feel it makes a difference but it's maybe like 5% really (it feels just a little bit smoother on response), and I'm saying for the X52...those values also depend what stick you have coz every stick is a piece of hardware of its own. If you all think that changing from default to some other number will make you become an ace pilot in an evening time beleive me it wont no matter how much u try it. If you talk about maturity think about your actions first, what you write and then point fingers....Sorry if it seems I'm pointing finger at you Erdem, I'm not...I'm saying this to all the people reading these forums. You made AS look bad here, not to mention Frazer who is a respected member of the aerobatic community and I think that is not the way to threat your fellow flyers of this community. One thing that annoyes me the most is when somebody is being "very smart" insulting people metaphoricaly. I think admins should also pay attention to that not only warn people that are cursing. Mizzy Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 Oh dear what's all this about? I recall my Dad once saying a few people learned how to put some bricks in the shape of a pyramid and kept it secret. Now they run our judicial services and corrupt police.... I think he called them freemasons :) Regards Mizzy.
zaGURUinzaSKY Posted January 9, 2006 Author Posted January 9, 2006 Guy please let's quit this lil' story here.. we're going no where.. or probably lower.. Let's keep the topic focalized on the real argument, the secret, is it really usefull? not? make your tests, enjoy life, enjoy the game. Keep you private discussions private and keep the comunity a friendly place.. (as much as possible.) Robbie.

RvEFoxteR Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 Thought it look weird lol Thanks Pilotasso :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
RvEFoxteR Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 Thanks on the compliments Ruggbutt, I'm doing my best lol Now let's get back to the topic (if there is anything more left to discuss), I'm filling the post with unnecessary text, I'll quit now ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Rhen Posted January 9, 2006 Posted January 9, 2006 This is an email I received and I think it can be usefull for some of you, so I share it. zaGURUinzaSKY __________________________________________________ Hello Robby, =RvE=--AS-- let me know the following thing; In Lock On/Config/joyrange.cfg you can change the dots per axis. The default setting is 400dpa but tests prove it is best to change that to around 3000dpa. Then you will have more "points" in your joystick range to control! So that means a smoother joystick feeling especially important with formation flying! The second thing he adviced is to change "ForceFeedbackEnabled = true;" to ForceFeedbackEnabled = false;" in Lock On/Config/producer.cfg. ForceFeedbackEnabled forces your computer to make more, not needed, calculations which can couse hickups or joystick lags. I found the controls like suspected much smoother and less bouncy. This is "secret" information which should only be shared with fellow aerobatic pilots. Keep up the G's! __________________________________________________________ Hope this "secret" (LOL) is helpfull. Thanks A WHOLE bunch GURU! A friend of mine and I tried this out shortly after you posted this and it smoothed out our flying in fingertip. This was one of the few things we've done to LOMAC that's made a difference right off. It's smoothed out our turns and minimizes PIO and makes small corrections possible, without oversensitivity. I've always had problems flying fingertip determining my bank angle with respect to the lead aircraft. That problem is not so pronounced now that i can make a small correction when i see myself drifting laterally. Again thanks GURU and I can't wait to try out 4-ship fingertip now! :D
zaGURUinzaSKY Posted January 10, 2006 Author Posted January 10, 2006 I made some test with joyrange: I saw no particular difference in piloting with joyrange.cfg at 400 or 3000. I try to rotate a point of the HUD around a distant object with 3000 and I did it very precisely with unvisible joystick/rudder movements, then I tried with 400 at same distance and I did it almost the same (almost), but between the two tests I had an excellent glass of italian white wine!! I think I don't need movements more precise that how they were in this test. Movements were so small that I can say invisibles. FPS didn't vary of a single unit anyway... FPS Force Feedback enabled or disabled makes 3 FPS of difference. I always experienced some movements but it was the wite wine goin down to my stomach. A bit offtopic but alway about FPS: After this big discovery I was entusiast and I made some more test with some common settings and features of LockOn. HAZE ADVANCED OR BASIC makes 11 FPS of difference !!!! When HAZE is ADVANCED and I'm on the runway: LANDING LIGHT sucks me 2 FPS in the cockpit view, 8 FPS in outside view. NAVLIGHTS sucks 2 FPS from cockpit view (3 with HAZE to BASIC), 4 FPS from outside. GEAR OUT from inside sucks 2 FPS, no difference from outside (who knows why?). SMOKE PODS' SMOKE makes no difference at 450KMH. A HUGE difference when doing a Hammerhead or hovering my beloved Flanker-D. Standart field of VIEW to WIDE Field of view in the cockpit sucks 7 FPS !!!! I think this is important to know when we care about FPS. Ciao! Robbie.
Frazer Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 I'm reacting to several posts in this forum. The first thing I want to say is that I received this tweak with the message only to share it with fellow aerobatic pilots. This is written like "secret" and not like secret with the reason that it isn't really a secret but something you shouldn't publish. That because it is something for the founder of this tweak ,=RvE=--AS--, to decide. I feel sorry for =RvE=--AS-- that zaGURUinzaSKY doesn't respect that. About "ruggbutt" and "Kevlon", guys, read first before blaming someone. zaGURUinzaSKY, you should not talk about "getting rude and offensive" because if you repeat what names you've been calling me you would have been banned like a 100 times."I didn't realized "=RvE=--AS--" it's a nickname" is a lie because I consider you can read and understand this "=RvE=--AS-- let me know the following thing" "Rhen" you should thank =RvE=--AS-- for this. I'm sure that =RvE=--AS-- would have published this tweak with pround after it is fully tested. I'm sorry for him that zaGURUinzaSKY ruined that. Respect for =RvE=--AS-- Thank You! zaGURUinzaSKY Posted January 10, 2006 Author Posted January 10, 2006 because if you repeat what names you've been calling me you would have been banned like a 100 times. You're right but I did it privately and not in a public forum, and I'm free to do it. I think is clear to many people what you are now. No need to say names. Happy 2006 to you too ! I'll not keep this stupid thing alive in this forum for readers' respect, I guess they have better ways to waste time. Robbie.
zaGURUinzaSKY Posted January 10, 2006 Author Posted January 10, 2006 I'd like to add something to my list of FPS suckers.. clouds on (Density 10, 5000mt, 2000mt thick) = 43FPS clouds off (clear sky) = 33FPS Should be the opposite no? Anyway we like to fly with full clouds so good for us.. Robbie.
Kevlon Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 do this... and then this.. :wc-smoker, with this tread [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

zaGURUinzaSKY Posted January 10, 2006 Author Posted January 10, 2006 another thing about smoke, in external view when we fly formation, I have more FPS if I zoom out enought to see the flat smoke (when you zoom out with CTRL + / , at a certain point you see the smoke shape changing, that's the moment you have more FPS, usefull also in rear view F4). Robbie.
Rhen Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 Try the 3000 setting flying the F-15. There's a noticeable difference in handling characteristics. In the MiG, the change is more subtle, but nevertheless there. I'm still glad this tip was posted regardless of the originator. Thanks to the person who figured it out AND the person who posted it.
Nomad Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 o.0 it makes quite a nice difference in gunzo. Hitting planes that are far away is a breeze now... The hero is the zaGURUinzaSKY guy tho. Doesn't matter who found the tweak, if he didn't tell about it... Ohnoes I just added some fuel to the flame :S. [brag]European dogfight champion 2006[/brag]
Prophet_169th Posted January 11, 2006 Posted January 11, 2006 I started using this mod. I notice a very big difference, especially at stick center. I am not very good with the stick, I stay away from close formations. And I also suck at gunzo (but thats because everyone manages to turn better than I). I havent tried a gunzo match yet, but refueling is much easier to me. And it seems with the Su-25T, I need to add more curve now with this, she is much more reactive.
