After many, many hours, I produced a non-official brochure for DCS WWII. Spread the word!

Enjoy!

Great work. And do I see a nod at Star Citizen in the end? "See you in the skies" tehehe

Indeed, the Kickstarter presentation leaves much to be desired in terms of clarity. Obviously these guys aren't a marketing team. But then again: they are a small team, and as much man power as possible should be dedicated to the development. For a small customer niche like the hardcore flight community, word of mouth within a year will do wonders.

And this thread and Charly's presentation is an awesome example of what a community can do to spread the word in a clear and positive fashion.

DCS A10C Warthog, DCS Black Shark 2, DCS P51D Mustang, DCS UH-1H Huey, DCS Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight, Flaming Cliffs 3, Combined Arms

Am I blind or are pages 8/9 (pledge options) missing the 200 USD option?

It was a basic pledge option before the "addition" of the new pledges by Luthier. I chose not to include these in the brochure because at the time I did it, you could not buy it because it was "limited" and had no more slots available. You can still buy these pledges if slots are remaining. For example... For the 200 $ pledge (which is "standard" because you don't see "ALPHA tier" or "DCS WORLD tier" in the description), you just need to read the lower "standard edition" tier (the 150 $ one in the green table) and then add on top of it "Special Thanks in In-game Credits" and "backer T-Shirt".

Now you'll be asking: "But why do I have two T-shirts now? It doesn't make sense!".

Indeed, it does not make sense. This is one of the tiers that were done BEFORE the new tier and edition addition. But for some reason, Luthier cannot delete or modify existing pledge options. That's why they seem a bit strange. Don't get me wrong: they are still valid. But they're maybe not the best "bang-for-your-buck" option. This is why I "omitted" them in the brochure in order to avoid confusion.

See how it turned out, in the end ;)

Thanks - the many different pledge options can be a bit confusing...

So in order to get both alpha access and all printed (strategy / plane) manuals I have to get (at least) the 250 USD standard package...

Damn, how I struggled to figure out how much should I pledge to get the FW 190 D9! 85$ as it turned out. Do you think the 190 A5 is feasible?

Feasible how? As in making the goals or it being developed at all, I think all the stretch goal aircraft are planned whether they make these goals or not, just if they dont make these goals you don get them free.

Yes.

What's the incentive for backers then? The brochure, p.8 says it's: a backer medal & beta access. It also says paid flyables which is the most confusing bull% I've read in a while. This being the worst part of it Crosscompatibility of modules? And I know perfectly well already what DCS is and what is its structure. The Kickstarter description (neither of the first two tabs) contain a word: "paid"! The brochure even, it also doesn't. Only in the tables with the overwhelming portion of information: ALL. I'm not having a go with the author of the brochure, just presenting what a mess it all is.

OK, let's continue. Let's say I dug up the info:

  • Focke-Wulf FW.190D-9 (from DCS: World);
  • North-American P-51D Mustang (from DCS: World).

are the paid flyables

Now... from DCS: World. What do you mean? Do I have to buy them from ED? Are they ripped from ED by RRG and I get (to play) them with the DCS WWII or not?! I must be slow not knowing the difference between P-51D Mustang (from DCS: World) (the kickstarter list of flyables) and DCS World P-51D (the pledge matrix/table).

You get a digital copy pledging $40 A what?! So I get (to play) them or not? Or maybe I get them without the digital copy for lower pledging? Why don't we go with the lawyer-flow and use some other words for "you get"... V

We are also adding DCS World licenses to kickstarter rewards. You will receive the P-51D and the FW.190D with DCS WWII; but if you select the appropriate reward, you will also receive those licenses for DCS World.

 'Be careful what you wish for' I guess.

As in making the goals.

I'll back off with my 5 bucks for now until this mess is sorted out.

I think that all aircraft listed will get done regardless of making the stretch goals, of course if they dont make those stretch goals, development time could be longer and those aircraft will become paid modules even for pledgers if I understand it correctly.

No that's incorrect...if the 100,000. is met and your money is taken, then you will receive the agreed to rewards as described. Failure to reach any of the stretch goals will have no affect on the rewards.

I am talking about the aircraft that are part of the stretch goals, if we dont reach them we dont receive those aircraft for free. Doesnt mean those aircraft will never be made though...

Yea they still could be built someday, sooner, especially if the game is a big huge success.
