Rongor Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 You paid for BS2 to enter the DCS World and for improvements "under the skin". Now all the work is down the drain, because it doesn't make sense anymore flying mission with wingmen that reply in Russian! Sorry, I absolutely don't understand this point of view. Does it make sense to have russian wingmen NOT replying in russian? I don't think so and I assume the majority around here doesn't.

Dr_Arrow Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 I hope that it stays how it is, Russian coalition speaks Russian, as it should. It was really awkward having to mod the sim to have Russian communications when flying for them.

Erforce Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 From my bug thread : - Radio comms (pilot voice) in English on the Red Side (+ installed RU files) - Resolved 6288 with 1.2.1 corresponding files. If you want, i can provide you installers of DCS A10+BS2 1.2.1 v6288. ;) I must admit this is the first post i see here where someone wants something that everyone else does not want, me included. In fact, it's dependent from nationalities. I've just tried Russian Ka in blue side, => talking Russian. While a Red sided USA still talks English From my personal opinion, i litteraly hated the english voice of Ka-50 in 1.2.1. If i could i would just remove it from west side too, especially Betty. Anyway, seems you found a local solution, good for you ! chardly38 Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 (edited) Remember this is a GAME. The consumer should have the option to have what ever language he or she wants in there cockpit with out having to mod the game every time there is an update. If the game is to be sooooo realistic than any one that does not live in the USA Should not be able to buy the A10c or A10 or F16 Or F18. Or anyone living in the USA should not be sold any Russian aircraft modules. When the the game ask what language to use during installation and there is an option of what language to use in the cockpit. That option should work. Edited November 1, 2013 by chardly38 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] =&arrFilter_pf[gameversion]=&arrFilter_pf[filelang]=&arrFilter_pf[aircraft]=&arrFilter_CREATED_USER_NAME=chardly38&set_filter=Filter&set_filter=Y"]MY SKINS And Helios i7 2600k 3.4 quad w/ Hyper N520 cpu fan_, Asus Sabertooth z77_, RX 580_, Corsair Vengeance 1800 8Gb ram_, 112 OCZ Vertex 3_, Corsair HX 1000, 3 screens res 5292x1050_,and 1 1680x1050 Helios Ir Tracker 5 with Pro Clip_,Hotas Warthog#12167 ...
WildBillKelsoe Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 I think both coalitions have educated people :D AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.

In that case DCS should offer for Users who buy the BS2 English version a Mission package with BLUE PLAYER, where the audio communications is in English! Second: if I knew DCS will reverse the language back to Russian again, I would have had exchanged the PLAYER to BLUE in all Ka-50 missions from the beginning, where I invested weeks of lost work in Mission Editor. So I do have a damn good reason here to get angry as compensation for the lost mod time in ME! OK now I've exchanged the sound files, but if my Russian friend want to fly on my computer, I must re-exchange those files again! This DCS back and forth policy was the main reason for my frustration. So for the DCS Admin, the Tenet written on the tombstone of this thread: Juggle decisions have consequences that the consumer must pay for. DieHard Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 (edited) I hope they don't "fix" this, as this is how it should be. Since one would expect russians speaking russian, I also don't exactly understand what is so frustrating about this nice feature. I want to see DCS to work with TS3 so when I fly the Red side Ka-50, my English gets translated to Russian for my TS3 buddies to enjoy. :megalol: Would be nice if DCS had an in-house radio for communication. I kind of know what my Russian Betty is saying... When I am headed towards a mountain collision, I am pretty sure she is saying, "PULL UP!" I have had the Shark since BS1. I am very grateful that DCS did change the in-cockpit instruments labels' lettering to English with one of the later revisions, as learning the Shark with Russian lettering only, was a real pain. My 2009 Flight Manual book I purchased has both the English manual format with the Russian language instruments labels. Edited November 7, 2013 by DieHard [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
MadDog-IC Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 ...And Spanish coalition speaking Spanish German speaking etc, papalapapp... The MAIN problem lies in the Ka-50 mission package you get when you purchase BS2, it's all packed with missions where the Player is RED coalition. If they want to set it back to RED Ka speaking russian, then at least I want a new Ka mission package modified where player is Blue coalition, so that I can fly DCS missions with wingmen and communicate in English! +1 I am with you, I have been fighting this russian voices since Blackshark1, and now Blackshark 2, yes I can fix easily via a mod, but think it would be an easy option as the game seems to be setup with folders for both english and russian versions of voices, campaigns, missions, etc. The game should follow the language options, if you choose English then all radio communications should be in English. If you Select Russian, then all radio communications should be in Russian. Choice is a beautiful thing and I can't see why it is such a big deal really, As for voice overs in the missions themselves, that is a bit more difficult. This is nothing personal but the russian voices grates on my nerves so much that I can't play any of the missions that have them in it, this is such a personal problem that I have actually rerecorded in mission prompts with my own voice over. The other issue is that if I am issuing commands to my wing man I would like to actually be able to understand his replies via the voice response, as at higher resolutions the subtitles are so small I can't read them, and I shouldn't have to anyway as voice response is much easy to understand and act on without taking your eyes of the situation your in. Each user has their preferences, I understand that, there is no right or wrong way of doing it, but let each user choose what is best for them (Realism or Not so real but more pleasing for the individual). cheers, Ian. Comrade Vodka Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 OK, just returning to, and enjoying BS2 again in 1.5...... ...so whats the latest mod people are using in BS2 to get the VOICES in English. I'd appreciate being pointed in the right direction with this. Thanks. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] :pilotfly:
Irregular programming Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 Read previously in the thread how to do this, it should still work as far as I know.
Sabre-TLA Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 (edited) I use this mod and JSGME to easily turn it on or off. I think a DCS Repair or Update resets the files but with JSGME it's easy to re-enable it. Edited January 20, 2016 by Sabre-TLA MapleFlagMissions - Read Our Blog for Updates
