Military and Aviation News Thread (NO DISCUSSION)
Silver_Dragon replied to topol-m's topic in Military and Aviation
The Ocean Sky 2025 exercise is a large-scale, international air combat exercise hosted by the Spanish Air Force at Gando Air Base in the Canary Islands from October 20–31, 2025. It involves training with multiple air forces, including the U.S. and India, to practice advanced air-to-air combat and improve interoperability. Notable participants will include Spain (F/A-18C/M, Eurofighter), U.S. (F-15E), India (Su-30MKI), Germany (Eurofighter), Portugal (F-16), and Greece (F-16). -
It does not need aileron trime 'constantly during flight.' It needs it only when at high power/low speed situations (like taking off). As you pick up speed, the effect of torque becomes weaker.

Exactly, first rule in trouble shooting DCS is to remove all mods, even in Saved Games. Perform a full repair for good measure, and a clean Saved Games. But I assume he did that all that before adding the mods back to the Saved Games folder. If not, that would completely defeat the purpose of renaming. Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk

Лично я 40Mil вниз, а в целом баллистика что пушки, что наров такова, что я делаю короткий залп, смотрю куда летит, быстренько пытаюсь сообразить и даю длинный. Ну нет у него дальномера, что поделать.

Haven't thought on the different weight! Much fun to learn how to fly it!

Doesn't matter. Exclude folders in AV, if one wants it to load faster. It won't run faster, probably. BUT! Absolutely do not open for DCS in the Firewall, unless you are running a server. uPnP will take care of the outbound traffic anyway. Cheers! Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk

Have you tried removing the Super Hornet mod? It has been known to cause issues with various things before. C-130 should be OK since I know I have it and no problems.

Oh ye, this was something I was just quietly feeling stupid about all by myself.

Have tied to disable power management at the USB hub level (under the USB controller) rather than disabling the entire power service?

Hi @Nix Mills, may I ask you about scoring system in mission 10? I've just flew it and scoring was 95, see below. Do you know, where could be the last 5 points? P.S. When I'm returning after convoy is destroyed to Broadway, in kneeboard is written altitude 28, but in dialogue by Player is 26. Which altitude is correct? Thank you in advance, Flying KENNY null

constantly 1-3 second freezes

After more experimentation, I have ruled out the E-cores as the primary issue. I am now getting consistent fps in VR with the E-cores enabled. I'm not sure what actually solved the problem. Some of the things I changed: Uninstalled Process Lasso (used to disable the E-cores) Uninstalled ReShade Running DCS in Administrator mode. Bypassing the DCS folder in Defender. Recently, there were updates to both SteamVR and the PSVR2 apps. Maybe that addressed something I was encountering before. I also made various tweaks to the DCS settings, like capping the FPS at 90. The combination of all of that seems to have really improved the performance. I'm now getting fairly consistent 45 fps in VR with all modules, with occasional brief dips down to 30fps. I'm not seeing the 3-5 fps I was seeing before in the CH-47F. -
I've noticed that on the instant missions where the Corsair is airborne , the aileron trim is already set to the right. This makes me think that the Corsair must have needed right aileron trim constantly during a flight to counter powerful torque to left. During my flights though , this trim setting makes me want to set it back to the center because the plane always rolls to the right. I'm wondering what's right, was constant right aileron trim really needed? So far, I haven't really noticed a huge amount of pull to the left, even on take off.

Just ran into this thread yesterday, as I also been having some years of stutter myself, with and without my Track IR. Followed @Plon's step of disabling power service in Windows settings. It worked a charm. Thank you for saving my life! I will have an eye on it to see if it holds.

You can write a ticket in Google Translate about this))) I had previously played on the i7 11700 on the 4YA servers and everything was ok. so I guess it's not about the server. not helped(

What a coincidence. I visited the Montelimar museum last summer holiday when we were in the neighborhood. Very nice and extensive museum with friendly personnel. They even gave me a private tour to their airworthy Bronco A few pictures: -
Request for a legacy SPO-15 realism option

You're mixing everything together. Authenticity and casualness are different concepts. You need to understand this. Again, don't ask for additional improvements in a game that's not about that. There are other games for simple "three-button" modules. -
Thanks! No need to change that.

Stutters on 9800X3D 96 RAM in MP

Thanks for the correction ... -
Yup, I saw when I reread. Log looks good except for tons of errors with the Hercules and Super Hornet, while I think they can be safely ignored. You're still running the exe from bin-mt, shouldn't have anything to do with this, but I highly recommend to start running from the bin folder as bin = bin-mt, and bin-mt will be removed in a future update, so you're better off changing now. Could you post a screenshot of your screen setup. Your screen rendering is 7K+x1444, maybe it can be optimised. (Btw. Helios doesn't export anything if you don't export instrument data, while Helios is superb for making the monitor file easy). Cheers!

Airfield and air traffic
Raven (Elysian Angel) replied to rokomah's topic in Static/AI Mods for DCS World
If you have the F-16 by ED, you could have a look at the mission editor and see how the triggers work in the instant action missions that are included: they make the airfield feel more alive too, without a need for mods. -
How to lower the .1% Frametime?
The_Nephilim replied to The_Nephilim's topic in Game Performance Bugs
I am done with messing with FSOS. it seems after a while it starts acting funny or maybe it was just me.. I am now trying to keep my .1% lows lower then 11.1ms as I had switched to 90hz and it is still keeping up altho I am at 80% Rez in the G2.. Which does not look too bad but I am able to keep my Frametimes under 11.1ms 99.9% of the time.. I do believe the .1% lows are the cause of most people stutter.. I would say if you have stutter, judder or whatever you want to call it check your .1% frametimes ms.. -

Nice to see Normandy 2.0 soon out of EA. My favourite "green" map before CWG was released. Hopefully full steam ahead with the Cold War Germany now
