  1. Another example of why the combat flight sim community is its own worst enemy. Come on, you guys ALL need to lighten the hell up. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, and when it comes to polls, should you choose to participate then you are limited to the answer provided that best meets your opinion. As for sim developers and designers being critical of one another's products in public: it has always been and will continue to be bad form. We all need to support one another in a friendly spirit of competition. I believe this is the case with the individuals here but the communications limits of text and a forum often do not bring out the best in all of us. I've played Blackshark. It is awesome. I have inside info on FighterOps, it is exciting and I look forward to it. Now, everyone, take hold and raise their pint glasses and start acting like a unified community! :icon_jook That is all.

  2. Have you a good dictionary? Are you well enough with a military phraseology? According to your attitude you are. So... it might be not a problem for you to understand easily what I will say now. How do you think what is the better source, an apropriate T.O. (as well as any GD/LM or NASA doc) or a some description of assumptions wich were made by (no doubt very talented) enthusiasts? I'll bet for the first option. Nothing to say about dyn. campain though. It is great! But please do not say the same about the flight model. There are many compromises in the flight model we have now in the Falcon. Also many systems still simply unmodelled yet. P.S. I hope you will forgive me for this practice in English. Enjoy.

  3. If you have patched to 1.12a and it worked before Go into lock on folder delete the "track ir" files in "input" & "config" close & re start the sim.

  4. Your sig seems appropriate for this topic. Every vote for one feature is by necessity a vote AGAINST another feature, that could be done instead. That's why I voted no. AFMs are very nice, but not even in the "top three" of what I'm most missing in this sim. -SK

  5. I think u hit(man) the nail on the head. Whats wrong with the Maddox approach, which has continued to release titles, based on the same engine, with significant improvements as they go along. That way they loose very little of the improvement they make, and patches in PF dont need to address issues which were fixed in IL2 (by and large). We could see 'new' theatres,, 'new' flyables (with AFM), maybe a 'new' campaign engine (dynamic). What i would not like to see is a brand new sim, which boasts '64 bit' multi processor support, and a new fancy graphics engine, but we have to wait another couple of years (on top of the release date, to make it as bug free as we've got lomac to now. If you think about it, the issue is less to do with what ED is working on, as I believe they are working on 'improving' what the have currently completed, and building on their knowledge and expertise. Whats more important to what they or we 'call' what they are doing, new or addon, is how this is marketed, and sold to the publisher. Take a look at how Maddox have approached this, and their resulting success.

  7. Area 51 is a choice. You don't have to join. It is also a way to make revenue for a team that has never had revenue and is trying to make a benchmark sim. It replaces the revenue from a publisher. These days you have to get money where you can to pay for the tools of the trade that you need to accomplish your goal. Without that revenue (and investors) then you wouldn't be able to set such lofty goals and put up a high quality, "Hard Core" sim.

  9. Hummm, Why does this happen in such wonderful threads? Buckshot, thank you for your honest opinion and all the professional input you offer. Your head has always been level as you fully explain your position with tact. Good work. Shepski, Wether he likes Helos or not, has he not been nice when at the forum? I expected more from you than to dig up his opinion and throw it in his face as a charactor flaw. He likes jets. I like both, You like both. Are the other 3 gentlemen that voted in that category tainted? Thank you, Monnie Dual Core Poll Please Vote
