Did you try (and complete) this campaign a few weeks back http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=14516&highlight=short+A-10+campaign Well, the RNLI had their day today. Here's our very own Carol presenting crewman Bob McTavish with a cheque this afternoon. And here's a pic of their boat.2 points

hi all, I don't know if you ever saw Autohotkey before, but I love it. It lets you program endless macros with your keyboard, mouse and joysticks, and it's very dynamic. So, Diveplane, Ruggbutt and a few others mentioned it would be nice to have the Strobe Lights mod working, and I made this Autohotkey script months back, just to test, so I thought I would share my findings. First you will need to download and install: http://www.autohotkey.com/download/AutoHotkeyInstall.exe and check out http://www.autohotkey.com/ if you're interested. No I don't have anything to do with the development of Autohotkey, but I have to say I've been looking for software like this for years and I think it's frickin awesome!!! ;) Second, you will need to make a file called Lights.ahk and place this code inside: blockKeyEntry = 0 ; DON'T TOUCH, used to block so we only have 1 thread at a time ; HERE IS WHERE YOU MAKE CHANGES lightsKey = F6 ; <-- the key that turns on the external lights in LO key = 0 ; <-- the key that will toggle strobe lights $0:: ; <-- change 0 if you changed key to something besides 0 ; HERE IS WHERE YOU ARE DONE MAKING CHANGES ToggleStrobeLights( blockKeyEntry, key, lightsKey ) return ;========================================================================= ; DON'T GO ANY FURTHER UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING ;========================================================================= #SingleInstance force Menu, Tray, Tip, LockOn Strobe Lights DetectHiddenWindows, On return ;========================================================================= PressLightsKey( lightsKey ) { Send, {%lightsKey% down} Sleep, 50 Send, {%lightsKey% up} } ;========================================================================= LightsOn( key, lightsKey ) { ; wait for the key to come up state = 0 Loop { GetKeyState, keyState, %key%, P if keyState = U Break } Loop { GetKeyState, keyState, %key%, P if keyState = D Break if state < 4 PressLightsKey( lightsKey ) if state = 11 state = 0 else state += 1 Sleep, 50 } if ( state = 1 || state = 3 ) PressLightsKey( lightsKey ) } ToggleStrobeLights( ByRef blockKeyEntry, key, lightsKey ) { if ( blockKeyEntry = 0 && WinExist( "LOCK ON" ) ) { blockKeyEntry = 1 LightsOn( key, lightsKey ) blockKeyEntry = 0 } } OR download the file: http://www.fileshack.us/files/591/lights.zip. After you make the lights.ahk file, double click on the lights.ahk file and you should get an H icon in your system try indicating the script is active. Start Lock On, change your Onboard Lights key to F6, then start a mission. The 0 key (zero) will toggle the strobes off or on. To turn off the script, right click on the H icon in the system tray in windows, and click Exit. Also, check out some of the documentation on Autohotkey if you like or would like to make macros for your keyboard, mouse, joystick or joystick axes. It's great!1 point

Post some simple things you'd like to see included in 1.12. I'd like to see the meinit edited to include the realistic loadout mod for the hog and 33. The network config should have higher default timeout settings. I don't see how lower ones help anybody, even with dial-up. Any others?1 point

link below its a tribute video made using LOMAC FC makes me wish someone would do a mod [with cockpit, accurate flight characteristics, and weapon] that would allow flying the 14 http://www.patricksaviation.com/sim_videos.php?action=view&id=66 BTW props to the maker1 point

More precisely, even that range might be wrong. What it's best used for (IMHO) is comparisons. If miniZAP says missile A flies 10 km and missile B flies 20 km, but in the real world, missile A flies 15 km, then it's a fair bet that in the real world, missile B flies 30 km (not the 20 km that miniZAP quoted). It can estimate roughly how much better one missile's aerodynamics should be than another's, because unlike our sims, all missiles in miniZAP at least follow the same physical rules (regardless of the correctness of those rules). Most missiles in our sims mainly follow individually-tailored scripts, AFAIK. So, we can make observations like - "wow, AIM-120 has longer range that AIM-7 AND R-77!" - without even knowing for sure, what that range should be. Very useful IMHO for capturing the correct "combat balance" and developing realistic tactics. -SK1 point

Not only that, but Opterons have up to 3 hypertransport links (more bandwidth), while FX's and base 64's have one. Opterons also have certain capabilities, which make them more suited for server applications. FX's are basically beefed up 64's (well depends on a core), if we concider San Diego core. They do have more bandwidth, and are somewhat more optimised, and can run on lower frequency, providing same preformance. Sorry can't remember all the details. Also I'm not certain tht FX has obly one hypertransport link, it might have 2...1 point

Depends on if you are talking dual core or single core Opterons. The dual core have 2M L2 cache (1 meg per core). Some of the dual core X2 Athlons have 2M L2 cache as well (4400X2 and 4800X2). As for baseline Athlon 64's, some have 512M L2 cache and some have 1M L2 cache.1 point

I been using it for a number of years (since gc1 came out) Here's how it works for me, 1. Always use an activate button, so it ignores other speech, eg TS. 2. I use 2 separate bottons on my hotas, 1 4 ts, and 1 4 GC 3. It works phonetically so sometimes spelling tight as 'tite' is better. So your command is spelled Tight, but the 'Sounds like' is spelled 'tite' 4. Long complex words are better broken down eg emergency to 'e merg ency' or awax to 'a wax' 5. it theres not enough difference betwen phrases, make a diference, ge smoke on, smoke off. Make 'Smoke' and No smoke'. 'Vector to.......' seems to trip it up so i use '............Vector' eg 'Home plate vector'. This makes it easier for gc. 6. Make the phrases longer, too many short ones have not enough diffreences, eg 'Tower permission to talk off', or 2 return 2 formation' (in place of 2 close up) 7. Avoid teaching unless absolutely necessary. 8. Adjust the max silence between words, so it always waits until the phrase end to interpret. mine is 250ms. 9. Use only the commands you absolutely need. I use it for comms only. The ore thats there, the easier it is to get it wrong, both you and GC. 10. To check all is working, print out commands, test each command, marking ones which appear to give a problem. For the problem ones, go back, modify the text, or try to teach the phrase, then repeat the testing process for all commands. Here's my profile if you wanna try it . I grew up with a grass field "aerodrome" basically in my backyard. I would hop my fence and walk the path through the woods to watch airplanes take off and land. When i was about 13, i had odd jobs to save money to take lessons (you can take lessons at any age). I was ready to solo before i was of age to solo. I had 87 hours total time when i finally was of age to solo. I'll never forget it. I got my Private at age 18, my instrument at age 19, took a break from flying cause the industry was going to crap while trying to figure out what i wanted to do (always wanted to be a pilot, but in those days, pilots were paying upwards of 15k just to get hired.. also known as Pay For Training - PFT). There was no way i could swing that and college at the same time. So... i sold cars/landscaped/worked FBO ramps for a few years while taking college courses in Aerospace. A few years later, the industry started to turn around and i got my Commercial, Multi, CFI II and MEI. I worked the ramps at the local FBO pumping gas and towing airplanes while going through college to make connections. I took most of my rides with the Feds since they dont charge for the check ride. Once i got my CFI, i was the senior Flight Instructor at that same grass field i used to watch airplanes. In the mid 90's i tried to join the Marines and go to Quantico for OCS and become a Marine Aviator. I already had all my ratings and about 800 hours total time. But, with Clinton cutbacks at the time, you had to basically be a 4.0 out of MIT to get an Aviation Contract. I was no where near that and there was no way i was going to take the recruiters suggestions of "Green to Gold... Seaman to Admiral" pitches. So i went the civilian route and ended up an airline pilot. I've owned sims since the first MSFS, Pro Pilot, MS98 (used to train instrument students on FS98 with CH Products.. .awesome company imo). I really got into CFS1 near the turn of the century. I've built many RC planes and warbirds including a Great Planes J3 Cub covered in silk (have about 30 hours in the real deal), a Top Flite F4U, a Sig Bonanza (have about 500 hours in a gorgeous A36 i used to fly charter) and various ARF's. I've been flying total for about 20 years and professionally for about 10 years. My airline recently went out of business (in case some of you are wondering why i have so much time on my hands...lol). So.., if any of you know anyone looking for a good pilot with a strong resume.. or perhaps a software/joystick company looking for technical consultant pilots with a knack for building pc's and a strong learning curve...dont hesistate to PM me. I actually prefer to work for a software/joystick company at this point considering how the airline industry is today. I have some very creative ideas/plans for a variety of cost effective, portable, home cockpit designs affordable to the everyday end user combat sim pilot and virtual airline pilot alike. :-) Other than that... im certainly enjoying Lock-On during my down time. I enjoy Shooters of any kind, yet i've never been into guns... figure that one out..lol Put guns on an airplane and its hard to pull me away. I've owned many games from Pong to current X360 and LOMAC. I'll be a gamer till the day i die. :icon_supe edit for typos...1 point

Hello :) 1. The AIM-120 will fail his target has other Air-To-Air missiles . 2. In Kosovo Air War NONE of the Mig-29 will be shoot down using only one AIM-120. 3. In Iraq about 1996 ; 4 x AIM-120 and ; 2 x AIM-54 fail to destroy 5 x Iraqui Mig-25 in the No-Fly Zone... The AIM-120 is not invincible ;) Not sure that situation in the game is a bug but it will be very bad to be shot down in this situation LaRata1 point

I think the ASE is key here. IN hard manuevering at close quarters- I'd prefer an active missile anytime I had one. Even a sidewinder -which seems a bit weak in this sim.1 point

Don't wanna spoil the party and mutual 169th drooling over these 'revolutionary' stats, but, u could have at least found some time to mention 504th and Zorlac who were the first who introduced this to Lockon community before lomac-stats and you for that matter. To someone new to LO community would seem you invented this because you 'failed' to mention this important peace of information. But instead of you, who in an organized "Let's go and promote ourselves" groupie COOP, forgot to mention this, one of us have to come here and correct this little unjustice. S!1 point

Let's see if I can summarize it without the benefit of reading it from the beginning. These missles suck! No, you suck! I do not! GG: there are many difficulties involved in a missle hitting its target and I know all of them What are the ways missle developers overcome these difficulties, GG? GG: It's secret. Oh. Pilotasso: I am NOT obsessed with the (504) stats! There are servers filled with jet fighters all flying below 1000 feet! No, you suck! GO STEELERS! It doesn't matter, it's all going to change with AWM in 2009. OK then I am happy No, you suck! D-Scythe: you must launch from lower altitude than your target But he's at 50 feet! D-Scythe: Then fly at 10 feet just like in real life So, how did I do? My apologies for any caricatures that might be percieved as malicious. It is not my intent. :)1 point

Add in the existing MEInit tweak to allow wider range of helo's on naval platforms. At least the Marine CH53 and AH-1..... Add in existing MEInit tweak to allow helo's on Neustrashimy.1 point

He said "simple" ;) The edits suggested so far have been very simple text edits to .xml files - a lot of your suggestions involve code changes. Some, like adding the advanced flight model, are a looooong way from simple. Not that we wouldn't love to see every one of them (I would, for sure . . . ), but most of that list isn't realistically going to happen even for Black Shark. (edit - damn, beaten by a minute ;) )1 point

Fix air refueling with F-15 to default to 315 with "begin loop"/"end loop" points and 220 for drogue/A-10. Limit tanker bank angles to 30 degrees. Turn off "autopilot assisted" air refuelings with F-15 - or make it an "easy refueling" option. Oh yeah, get rid of the range cue in the upper left corner of the HUD as well. When within 2NM or so of another aircraft, it appears that aircraft textures change so that aircraft become LESS visible when getting closer (around 2NM). Increase range/accuracy of AMRAAM. Increase ECCM and decrease spoofing of F-15 radar with jamming and notching. HFFM for all flyables. 6DOF for 1.12 as opposed to waiting for Black Shark Data link and map display for F-15 Ability to put client and player in same flight besides making a separate flight for client Ability to change player aircraft when editing a multiplay mission without having to nearly redesign the mission Oh yeah, release the patch! Last I heard it was in BETA6. So, it should be released soon, yes?1 point
