Forum meet Mr Blackjack , or the beast as i like to call him :-0 TU 160 Blackjack my latest creation weighs in at 58044 polys , the highest poly aircraft i have ever made , i was aiming for below 60000 and achieved it - i have spent an insane amount of hours building this , but man am i proud of it , and very pleased with the end result :-) the model is finished , un animated , un uvwed and unskinned , but complete to the best of my abilities - the colours applied are 3dmax primitives - nothing more ) The model can be made available to Lock ON , my standard terms and conditions apply ) The model has a refuel probe , 8 x kh55 cruise missiles - 6 on board in bomb bays on rotary launcher , and 2 missiles in flight Bomb bays and gear recesses are cut , with doors , all flaps are cut in correction positions as per drawings . Cockpit glass is cut and transparent Just need to add in some LO pilot dude figurines , which i don't have ! Anyway i am off to bed - enjoy the picture links below , which are all renders from 3dmax of the completed aircraft scene .   5. You are wrong. I have had many, many locks broken because the target went music on. And this may have turned into one of the most pointless threads ever. Maybe PMs would be a better option.

  6. Do not use Grebs explosion pack. It actually removes files, the stutter you are seeing is because the game is writing to the error log. If you pull up the error log you will see all the enties of it trying to pull up a file that isnt there.

  7. Alpha radiation is very damagable... but the particle has very short range in air... its only about few cm..10cm the most I think. The reason why DU is so dangerous is not because it might hit you straight.. all the rounds need to do is hit the tank... the round explodes... it creates dust smoke... which contains DU particles... you enhale it and you're history. Alpha radiation is very short ranged because of its mass (2 protons and 2 neutrons) but if you enhale particle radiating it you're a gonner... because it has very high tissue damaging effect. Going through the skin will take lots of its kinetic energy but once inside a body it's very very bad. So people are fighting against use of DU because of this... and because of its half life rate it's pretty much dangerous forever. By most radio active I mean overall most partcles released/time and duration of half life. There are radioactive particles used to inject into patients bloodstreem so it travels through whole your body... but it's half life is only few minutes so it's not that dangerous. It's the accumulated radioactivity that becomes dangerous but in a case where radioactive particle with long half life enters your system it's permanently damaging to internal tissue, well how should I say... for a long time... untill you die... from it

  9. А вот в Ка-50, например, Шквал используют в том числе и для поиска - есть режим автоматического сканирования местности с разной скоростью. Думаю, и в Су-25Т такое есть, просто тогда у ED информации не было - комплексы-то одинаковые. Касаемо того, с какого расстояния что можно увидеть - коллега (по понятным причинам фамилий, ников и прочего не будет) интересовался у тех, кто "кушает эти устрицы". Так вот, ситуация гораздо печальнее - цель класса танка, которая слегка замаскирована и заранее неизвестно где находится, можно и вообще не увидеть :( Если знаешь примерно где - то при известной доле везения с нескольких километров, не более. Вот разве что цель "привязана" к хорошему ориентиру и пилот это знает - тогда да, вроде (если я правильно помню) около десятка км. Про бородачей уже и не спрашивали. Это все, естественно, про поиск глазами, без оптики.

  10. Okay, no probs. Just open the Layers window, you'll see a tab called "channels". You'll see "Alpha" and it'll show the transparent areas as white. Select the Alpha layer, find the 9, and use a black colored brush to "erase" it out (White is the "active" portion of the alpha layer). Back it up first of course then save. Go in the sim and it should work.
