Hey Community, Finally I managed to upload my movie as a HD-Version on Youtube: BE SURE TO CLICK ON HD! And here's the story: It was a nice but cold winter evening, when suddenly the alarm jolted me out of my arousing daydreams. Intelligence reported, that the Georgian Army sent several speedboats and cruisers to board our not half-manned aircraft-carrier to get hold of highly classified material. Now it was on me, Ivan Smirnoff, to jump into my KA-50 and interfere with the Georgian plans. While I powered up my Blackshark the enemy ships already launched a couple of missiles to destroy our cruiser. But defense was strong enough. One ship-to-ship missile was even able to sink one of the enemy speedboats. I flew to the location where our intelligence suspected their position. A single speedboat was left and I was able to destroy it. Returning to our territory, I had a short stop on one of our cruisers. During this refueling stop, I visited the commando centre, observing our fleet’s confrontation with the rest of the Georgian ships. Our ambush finally led them to give up and retreat behind their border. It was time to return to our base and get back to this wonderful daydream. Ivan Smirnoff3 points

What's this topic about again? DCS vs hawx, or arcade vs simulation? Aren't they all just "games" in the end? Though DCS tries to simulate something. Arcade games are like Action movies, they can be over the top and at the same time give you "something" realistic. If you dont like Action movies, dont watch them, same applies for games. For me, i like anything that gives ME entertainment! And if you look at my movies, do you think i lean heavily towards the realism side? :D2 points

Development of a given vehicle doesn't need to follow common sense - common sense is not necessarily applicable to these things anyway :) I don't know if helis were ever even tested with AGM-122 ... I know they were tested with AIM-9, and I think Ka-50 was tested with R-73, although those were never deployed operationally and in fact the capability may not exist in production helis.1 point

He Finally does it!!! He took off, followed waypoints (for the most part, zig-zags can be nice to study later), hovered the 'copter, shot many, many evil bad vehicles and bunkers infesting the nice field with their vile rottenness, destroying most of the ones he shot at, got a 'Watch EKRAN' warning which he thinks was saying "Gas is low, dude, go home!", struggled with the route auto-pilot function but finally made course and destination line up with the airport; he even radioed in saying, "I'm on my way, be there in five!" and "May I land now?", he even ALMOST landed from where he took off. SO WHAT IF THE COMPANY COMMANDER FLIPPED FROM ONE SILLY LITTLE BLOWN TIRE on the landing, and the THREE OUTER-ROTOR BLADES SMACKED OFF WHILE HITTING THE GROUND from a tiny, little, accidental, or course, tipping while trying to account for the popped-tire. Geesh, they have to make such a big deal out of every little detail! THEY SHOULD'VE GIVEN ME BETTER RUBBER THAT WOULDN'T BLOW SO EASILY! Anyway, I took off, flew my route (well, I got there and pretty much touched all the waypoints at some point during flight-time), shot many targets (did well with VIKHR and Guns, but rockets I don't have yet!), and returned home without crashing & dying on the landing. IT'S A FIRST!!! I think my engines were just about to fumes when I was about 30 feet (9-10 meters, or there about), and I could not get a hover without some kind of 1, 2 or 3 mph skew in one-direction-or-another. I had planned to just hover and sink, but I just can't seem to hover over the landing field. Ugh! How long, generally speaking, should you be in the air with a full tank of gas (both)? My mission was 1:45 hours long, and almost all was airborne. Lot of hovering over the target field, but is that about right? To be out of gas at only 1:45 minutes? Hey, flat-tire and rotor blades vs. death? I think I won, this time! Ps- Skypat...I forgive you1 point

I believe you have 600 W power supply. If it`s power consumption for just a video card - your PU`s definitely not enough for new card cause power is spreading between all computer components. Though, system still may run without "gaming" load. Upgrade to 800 W. About memory. You can use any supported DDR2 memory. But take into consideration that all memory banks would work on same frequency. There is no point to add 1066 DDR2 if you already have 800 DDR2 installed. But! Using DDR of same characteristics (and vendor) is HIGHLY recommended.1 point

Уже сделано!) Виндовс звукозапись решает! Однако звук получился немножко пресным и тихим, но думаю исправить можно. Итак, все герцы и килохрени учтены, можно вставлять: зы-свист турбины спереди откровенно портит всю картину.. зыы-на самом деле лично по мне уже совсем неплохо. to make the hat look like an axis... maybe it would be possible using ppjoy to create a fake joystick and then map the hat buttons to it's fake axes using glovepie expressions. just an idea, maybe it would be possible.1 point

I read this in the saitek support forum before.... When you are programing your profiles it does record all the presses and the pauses in between etc, you just don't see them as you do in a macro. Try holding the keys a bit longer when you program. Also another tip was to add an additional "release" keystroke to the ones giving you problems. This should take care of it for you.1 point

never run in to the trgt area unless u want a bloody nose...use the hills and the terr..to mask your flight and learn to pop up....and keep your eyes outside the chopper..1 point

RUN!!! Don't walk to your nearest dealer and buy one. It greatly increases the immersion factor, once you have it tweaked to match your head movement. Rich1 point

Very short track (less than 5 minutes) with this issue is still needed. Please use mission with no aircrafts or ground units. I see that laser switch positions became inverted for some reason and we're making investigation now.1 point

Well the problem is that sims might be very accurate they are still not the same as reallife. And things like an anticoll for example aren't only used for making you visible in the air for other a/c, they are also used to warn everybody arround the a/c that you are starting up your engine. And no sim will simulate a ramp handler not paying attention and walking into the rotorblade while it spins up. So it intentionally is turned on right before the engines spool up. Landing/taxi/search lights are very bright so when they are turned on while still starting up you might blind other a/c taxiing in or out. This won't be simulated in sims. One other problem is they turn very hot so when you have them on while standing still they get easy overheated, they need the air cooling it. And going take-off while on the appron will damage and even might tip over other a/c or cars parked close to you. So it is fun to do but there is a reason for everything in aviation. And I would like to keep it as close to reallife as it gets. As I said if you want to play it like arcade fine with me.1 point

Kelt лично я считаю, что на классиках - Ми-8, Ми-24, качество автопилота оставляет желать лучшего. Висит 24-ка, к примеру, относительно хорошо - главное чтобы не над бетоном и не над морем, чтобы ДИСС могла зацепиться за местность. В принципе, если отбросить гуляния в стороны до пары метров и по высоте - 0,4 м погрешности, можно сосредоточиться на прицеливании или работе с арматурой кабины. По маршруту 24-ка ходит неплохо, у нее правда, нет ППМ-ов, заранее заложенных в память - летчик сам кремальерой ЗК задает курс следующего этапа, вертолет плавно доворачивается на него и идет.. ночью, когда нет восходящих и нисходящих потоков от полей, лесов (во, кстати - не стоит сбрасывать со счетов воздушные потоки, они составляют большую часть всех возмущающих воздействий на установившийся процесс управления), можно даже бросить управление на некоторое время. Что касается Ка-50.. сам я не летал на нем, но по отзывам летчиков, висит он так, как не каждый высококлассный пилот сможет - как гвоздь, в общем. ДИСС по сравнению с 24-кой намного лучше обрабатывает все малейшие возмущения и ей позволено вмешиваться в управление, с углами крена и тангажа до 5 градусов отрабатывая возврат к месту висения. Этого вполне достаточно для внезапных порывов ветра и т.п. Соответственно и маршрутные полеты на Ка-50 получаются почти как в старых аркадных симах - включил автопилот, он сам идет по маршруту, а ты бежишь чайник ставить. И вот еще момент: автопилот как общепринятое понятие на вертолете делится на систему автоматического управления и на пилотажный блок. Это я своими словами. Сейчас поясню. Каналы К,Т,Н,В включены на стабилизацию постоянно, еще до взлета. Это позволяет уменьшить ошибку летчика, т.к. гидроусилители на автомате перекоса могут забирать на себя до 20% от общих усилий управления. Если выключить АП, то пилотирование превратится в балансирование тарелкой на конце длинного шеста, как в цирке. Малейшее отклонение РУ приведет к разбалансировке вертолета, поэтому движения превращаются в короткие, резкие и двойные. С автопилотом - плавные и одинарные. Но это стабилизация общего управления. Есть еще директорное управление - висение и маршрут, на Ка-50 они реализованы с замечательной точностью. Используются в основном, в боевых режимах - при пусках ПТУР, стрельбе из пушки, для автоматического доворота вертолета вслед за подвижной маркой. На висении (кнопка под мизинцем на РУ) машина может снижаться и подниматься нажатиями переключателя на РШГ (вверх-вниз), без привлечения непосредственно ручки ШАГ-ГАЗ в работу. Для следования по маршруту автопилот может переключаться по желанию летчика - если необходимо следование на ППМВ с огибанием рельефа местности, - ручное управление. Если возможен выход к цели на высоте 200 м, то можно пользоваться автоматом - сам пройдет все запрограммированные ППМ-ы.1 point
