Hello gentl. this my new thread is about unbelievable strange and non acceptable flight caracteristics of this two jets. In dogfight where su27 is a king(in reality), f15 get`s win so easy in close visual guns DOGFIGHT, of course if player with f15 knows all the tricks. So how is that possible?! In last tournament on TCL 1 vs 1 gunsonly, f15 has taken the won and in finals both were flying with f15 which make things even more sad. In LOFC su27 vs f15, in tight turns su27 need to be more agile, but f15 is so strong and when we fly circle with 500kmh speed, f15 get`s on 6 to su27, this is so funny, i mean wtf??? So many airshows where su27 showing all his dogfight power, and in this, how you like to call it "flight simulator" he is so slow versus f15. So why are you guy`s doing this, is it cos of Americans and there jet, and there BUCKS???...this is not realistic, f15 can only go for energy menagment and nothing else...mig29 very good on airshows, and in game in dogfight that jet sucks, you need to be real ACE like PIRKE:) from Serbia to fly this thing in dogfight... Soo at the end of my short thread, i would like to say "don`t go for FC 2.0" if this things stay as they are right now, or i will give you money for nothing, same sh*** all over again. Good project, but make it more realistic in flight. I am bad english spokeman so cheers!3 points

Ролик не новый. Летали на штурмовку на РАФе кажется, хотя могу ошибаться, времени уже порядочно утекло... вот, скомпоновал :)1 point

You should definitely try 'Condor', the soaring simulator. Since obviously you don't even have an engine in a glider, and thermals/ridge lifts are not always so easy to find, I think that lack of explosions'n'bloodshed would be your last concern there ;) Try it, complete 5 hour track and then we'll talk about "feeling" of flight :thumbup:1 point

Great video Frazer. You have made the DCS community proud! When the aliens come and we have to all be there as extra pilots for a F-18 or KA-50, we are all here ready to kick some ass :)1 point

Divide and conquer .... When Yugoslavia was one country there was a real airforce. MiG-29's were purchased soon after they were introduced in Russia. Now, we have many small kingdoms and "independent" countries whose skys lands and seas are "protected" by foreign military's. But all is not lost .... Maybe we will buy some used tires for our MiG's and fly them again. :)1 point

It's hard to describe Vex (to be accurate). But my fast calculations says if we have about 44 airframes (8 two-seaters) and few of them are exhibitions now (schools, museum, etc.) so I think there are nearly 40 active planes and flyble about 33-35 of them :)1 point

GG, any source on the lack of flight hours by Russian pilots? Just curiosity :)1 point

There are many features that could have been added to the Russian planes to make them more "realistic" as well. Yet, those changes are ignored and not taken into account. For example, count down to missile impact that is displayed on the HUD when firing a missile on the SU-27 is not there. Has been there and is documented in the manual for the SU-27SK (export version!) not even talking about the Serial version used in the VVS. Another example is MiG-29S being able to fire on two targets simultaneously. Another example is SU-25 not being able to properly bomb a target due to the way the HUD is static and can not be adjusted at an angle, so the only way to bomb is to dive bomb... What is disheartening is not the attempt to make F-15 more realistic but ignoring the improvements that could have been brought but chosen to be ignored to the other planes in the game. -Sov13t.1 point

A rumor has it that they first called it FC 1.5 but because it was too obvious we know it now under 2.01 point

FC2.0 = F-15 Strike Eagle simulator... Looking more and more like that... 380+ pages on the Russian speaking forums arguing with ED about numerous changes that are completely biased. So, just get used to it... or don't buy FC2.0. its sad.1 point

Did you think that airshows = air combat? You're talking as if an F-15 wasn't capable of dogfighting. Ideally you don't want to get into a close fight with a MiG or Su, but guess what - the performance is close enough that even though the flanker and mig should have an advantage, it isn't going to be a 'zomg I just pull into your tail and lolz' ... if you make a mistake - not even a very big one, an F-15 can come around and shoot you down as long as he doesn't make the same mistake. Relative performance at slow speed is being looked at, but you really don't know what you're talking about. The Su-27 is not the king nor god of dogfighting - an F-18 will out-turn it so long as it doesn't have to do too many turns ;) An F-15 on the other hand can do a -lot- more turns thanks to that insane TWR ... ie. it can sustain its turns much better (...than an F-18, and even a Su-27). The reason for what you are seeing is nothing else than the F-15 having significantly greater TWR when in a similar confiuration as the flanker. But again - the slow speed performance is being looked into. Just in case ;)1 point

There's a decent list of bomb racks and launchers for U.S. aircraft at FAS: http://www.fas.org/programs/ssp/man/uswpns/usaircraftequipment.html1 point

Try descending fast (~200-250km/h / -20 m/s) in spiral. If you don't switch to low RPM, you will overspeed the rotors.1 point

thats why you should never fly it. !! really dont !! :music_whistling:1 point

I've just recently picked up LOMAC again after playing DCS: Black Shark for the longest time (Going Mach 2 with my hair on fire was something I missed :P), and I have come to realize that I am terrible at Beyond Visual Range Air to Air combat. Now, before anybody says anything, I've been searching through various forums (This forum, The LOMAC forum on ubi.com, Lockonfiles, etc.) on the topic of BVR fighting. So don't blame me for not trying to figure it out, or don't blame me for spamming. With that being said, a tactic I've been seeing people recommending is "notching." Can somebody tell me what notching is? From what I've gathered, it seems like I'm supposed to fly away from an incoming missile, keeping it between my 3 and 9 o' clock positions. That's all? The thread I've been reading in particular to help me is this one. In the thread I've linked, the words "notch" and "notching" are thrown around quite a bit. I still know nothing about it. What is the "F-pole?" I've watched some of Ironhand's tutorials, and he "F-poles" in one of them. It looks to me like Ironhand just dived. I'm going to assume that there is more to "F-poling" than just diving. Somebody please explain to me this tactic. EDIT/ADDITION: Also, what exactly is "beaming?" Also, I fly v1.02, I'm not sure if that has an effect on tactics, but I'm quite sure some of the aircraft systems are different between v1.02 and FC v1.12 Help! :P1 point

Hi guys, brand spanking new to this game, although not brand spanking new to helis! Seems I have great timing though, just about to go off to somewhere where there is no wireless connection for four months! Anyway, I have to say that I am incredibly impressed with Blackshark. Being a helicopter pilot and having flown full level D simulators (i.e. you never have to fly the real thing cos the sim will qualify you to fly it!) BS is a step above the rest. I absolutely love the switchable cockpit, because it relates to exactly what I am used to. The systems management is realistic and even the NVG is pretty good. I have only been playing it for a little while (three days) and it's like I've just done a crash course in the KA-50 and Ihave to admit, I'm still using the quick startup keys, cos it would take me more time than I have available at the moment to come up with a functional startup checklist. Having said that, I know that there are a lot of young (and not so young) guys out there who would love to fly helicopters who have bought this game. Rest assured, that it is pretty damn close to the real thing. The one grip I have is that the trim system is too slow to react. It must be immediate. I don't know if a force feedback joystick would help me to see if the flight model is correct or if it is a limitation of my equipment, but it doesn't spoil an excellent sim. Well done DCS. I look forward to meeting a blackshark pilot and discussing the sim with him!1 point

Which excludes TrackIR 1 and 2. You guys have got balls, I give you that much. You fight against developers, third parties and even your own users then you act all innocent. :wassat:1 point
