LotATC Lot of bugfix for this release: display, network and TeamSpeak. There is some enhancement and new features too: Lockon FC 1.2.x support (except mission loading for waypoints and weather) map database unit airports [*]New SVG map, larger than before [*]Network has been optimised (decrease by 80%), should be more efficient with lot of pilot/controller [*]Add taxiways and ILS approach on airports. Double click on airports to show them. It is a young module but I release it due to the lot of people who asking me about it! It will be enhanced with SVG and zoom in next releases. [*]Add datalink module for LoPlug connexion. With it, controller and pilots can exchange data (controller can send BRAA to LoPlug and pilot can send screenshot to controller). ~S~ Greetings and salutations, This post is to announce the release of a new Flash cockpit trainer for DCS:Blackshark. If you ever flew Falcon 4, then you are probably familiar with the cockpit trainer for that sim. This is very similar, but much more detailed. When you mouse over buttons, switches, and guages, a pop-up window will give a brief description of that item. Some items are clickable giving you an even more detailed description. This Cockpit Trainer was developed by a fellow War Hawks member, WH_Snacko, for our squadron Training Module. But once we saw the level of detail Snacko had put into this, we knew we could not keep it for ourselves. War Hawks Training Module Full War Hawk members have access to all training courses, but some are open to the public. The cockpit trainer can be accessed by clicking on the above link. You can then scroll down to find the KA-50 Cockpit Trainer in the Blackshark specific area of our training module. You will be prompted to log in or view as a guest. Guest access will allow you to view this trainer as well as a few other courses. If you have any questions or would like to join us for full member access to other courses, feel free to contact us from the War Hawks Website. Thanks to WH_Snacko we now have a stand-alone version available as well. Currently hosted on a mediafire account here: Stand-alone DCS:Blackshark Cockpit Trainer Respectfully submitted,1 point

:book:1 point

Mainly what we are talking about in this thread are the sound.cockpit_world_volume = 2.5 sound.cockpit_world_lowpass = 2000 lines of the autoexec.cfg. As far as the CPU cores are concerned FC2 will only ever use 2 cores and even then only in a limited way. The simulation engine is a single core application and nothing short of a complete rewrite will change this. However with FC2 the sound engine was re-written from scratch and this made it possible to run the sound engine on a separate core. So FC2 can use 2 cores but only in a limited way. Any more cores would be left unused. Also the new sound engine is completely run in software (effectively the CPU is now the sound processor), so your sound card does no processing at all. This was done to maintain compatibly for all sound cards. Nate1 point

Sorry, I have been away and busy. 1) materials.lma.lua can be downloaded from here: http://en.wiki.eagle.ru/w/images/0/04/FilesHelpLand.rar 2) .rn files are things that you can not see (Splines to designate runway location, splines to designate taxi paths, dummy placeholders for models, splines for taxiway/ runway lights. .sup file is for things that you can see (runway texture, taxiway texture, taxilines, etc) Send me a link to the file if you want me to try to split it up. I am quite busy though but will try to help :) 3) Second part is true. As long as the pivot point of the model matches up with the pivot point of the square plane, you will be ok. To be more technical, the pivot point of the model will ALWAYS align to the pivot point of the placeholder plane. 4a) FC2 scenes file was probably created using a newer version of plugins that the public ones cannot import. You will need to import FC1 scene files for reference. 4b) Assemble scenes does not work? Does it specify what files are not found? 5) Not sure 6a) Not sure about spawn locations 6b) You must compile all files into a .scn file using assemblescenes.exe before it will work. Try this: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=12567786&linkID=92411771 point

Put AA to 2x...if you game at 1920x1080 or above then the reso is pretty high...i dont see a whole lotta difference above 2x, put AA mode to performance (alot of games have issues with the 2 higher settings and sometimes they look close to the same but have a HUGE performance hit) , put AF to 16x, AI OFF, MipMap quality, and I leave triple buffering checked (dont even think i have any open gl games actually). my FC2 looks absolutly gorgeous and i get the high frame rates. BTW i play on a 56" DLP so i see any jaggies much more pronounced without any AA 1920 is a big difference from a 20 to 56" screen!1 point

The AP takes time to get used to. You could always just turn on all the channels and the FD channel (flight directer). This way you get the stability of having AP without ever having to fight the damn thing. I remember my first real manual flight. I was strafing a convoy and took one right in the AP. Quick lesson to learn lol. Still managed to fly back and land, even got a few trucks on the pass back home.1 point

I would love a Sepecat Jaguar in DCS. The info must be out in the wild since most airforces have now abandoned their Jag's Single Seat aswell, so none of this DCS Apache 2 seat malarky, I think the jaguar would be the perfect aircraft for ED to model. But what I REALLY would like is for their next model after the A10 to have an A2G radar, I dont care what plane or helo they put in, aslong as we get a A2G radar to play with as that is sadly missing from the Lockon and DCS series. Tell me that this doesnt look lovely, its basically the British and French version of a SU25t For a really cool pic of one, they dont allow hotlinking so this link will have to suffice as I am too lazy to host it myself :) http://www.airfighters.com/photo/46932/L/UK-Air-Force/Sepecat-Jaguar-GR1A/XZ363/1 point

Very cool Aliboy! Looks like a photo. The effects are nice and subtle. Here's my hot new ride for a VFA-106 F/A-18C TACDEMO! :smilewink: Nearly complete, but still WIP.1 point

But the Jag is thankfully no longer in service, and it was bloody awful when it was. As we always used to say, Jag's rate of climb was zero, the earth just curved away from them as they travelled along. But being realistic we're not going to get any aircraft that have been out of service for any length of time given that ED can't get a military contract for something no longer used by the military. And hopefully it'll be a fair few modules before ED do run out of contracts. Now obviously I'd love a Viper and I'd happily give up a kidney to get DCS:F-16C, but I'll be happy with any aircraft modelled to current DCS standards and beyond. But you can't do SEAD without the A/G avionics and radar modelled. Well you could launch AGM-88s using HTS but that's it, and that's only one of the possible HARM employment methods available to the Viper. As said above, a LOMAC level aircraft simply isn't going to happen in DCS, and personally I'm truly thankful of that fact. Lets keep it a proper study sim as it should be, those of you wanting a lo-fi air quake sim have LOMAC, it's high time us checklist, realistic procedures & tactics loving study sim lovers had something new1 point
