Hello guys, I answered a lot of poeple but without a result yet. The problem is following: I builded a new carrier ( the CVN-77, USS George Bush) some time before and was able to export it into DCS. But everytime when I will land with the KA50 on the top of the flight deck the helicopter will "diving" trough the deck and fall into the water. So the question is: What to hell I have to do to make the flight deck "hard" for the BS2 KA50? Help me guys please - I spend a lot of time into the carrier and won`t loose this project. Thanks a lot, Tom1 point

Hey guys. As i'm lazy right now, im just gonna copy/paste what i wrote on youtube: Eagle Dynamics asked me if I could do a small movie, with a demonstration of landing on ships in rough seas. I thought to myself "oh ok, how can I make that look interesting?". Well after some hours of work, it came down to this. It's nothing fancy or "over the top" as I'm used to, but it gets the point across (though yeah, you never actually see me *landing* :P). And obviously, this movie won't make any sense unless you have read this text. And the music is called "Enigmatic Soul (No Vocals)" by Two Steps From Hell. Oh and the intro is actually a hint at the real movie i'm working on... :) Link: - This movie sorta came in-between my plans with the promo im planning for FC 3 - Superior Fighters 2. But it was fun trying to land in such bad weather though! Wind was something over 10m/second as well. :)1 point

Yeah guys!!!! I found a solution for my problem: I wrote a SKIN-File and wrote into it: models { lod = {"VINSON.lom", 50000}; collision = "VINSON.cmd"; } And now it works and I can land on the carrier and chrash against him- Juhuuu. So thank you guys to bring me on the right way and giving me ideas. Yea, sure I will animate some things and install some lovely lights on the decks. And add some more details- Specially the textures BTW: I think E.D. already had their own carrier model. (V will C, maybe with DCS:Hornet) Seriously I really hope that it will be a F16 but on the other hand: If the next module is a Navy fighter, two carriers are better them one ... Is there anybody out there who have a argument table for ships argumentations?1 point

Do you have access to US military inventory data to present that assertion as a "fact"?1 point

Usually a model will have collision model associated with it, I'm not sure what's required for the collision model though. Try saving the geometry of your model without materials as the collision model? I'm sure somebody more knowledgeable will be along soon to explain properly. The Kuz for example has 2 models kuznecow.edm and kuznecow-collision.edm Nate1 point

Download my four missions for refueling, they are exactly what you want. They are in the missions forum, not on the DCS mainsite though.1 point

EDIT: THIS PROBLEM IS FIXED IN PATCH 1.1.1.1 There is a very small error in NATO.lua that prevents folks from hearing the JTAC remarks when it's cloudy: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=82127 Line 673 of NATO.lua in C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS A-10C\Sounds\Speech needs to be changed from: self.sub.Number:make(u.adv_round(_9_line_brief_remarks.weather.clouds.min_height * u.units.feet.coefs, 1)) + ' ' + to self.sub.Number:make(u.adv_round(_9_line_brief_remarks.weather.clouds.min_height * u.units.feet.coeff, 1)) + ' ' + Note that all that had to be done was change "u.units.feet.coefs" to "u.units.feet.coeff" So to fix this, you can either a) make this change yourself using Notepad++, b) just download the NATO.lua file I uploaded below and then replace your current C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS A-10C\Sounds\Speech\NATO.lua with this one, or c) Use the Modman pack I uploaded below (the .zip file). Old warriors... Good evening, VFAT is over, as MiGgressor said earlier. Let's then show some more 'operational' planes, so below are some pictures of two "old warriors", the first having retired some time ago, the second currently living through the end of her career. They were trustworthy, these "planes for real men", and they hold rich records. Rustic and modern at the same time, they have retained through some endemic issues (including being underpowered, fairly typical of french products, at the time at least), while being upgraded when required: Indeed, the last exemplaries of the first one shouted "We launch everything" (*) in the last days of the pre-Rafale era 1/7 squadron, at a time when more "modern" french planes were still at their early blocks. (*) in french : "Nous, on tire tout". Kind of a joke, but not translatable. The still alive exemplaries of the latter have yet been able to fire in anger a few weeks / months ago over Libya, and hold their rank without hesitation among the "youngsters" of the NATO coalition. Mesdames, Mesdemoiselles, Messieurs : Le SEPECAT Jaguar et le Super Etendard Modernisé. Screenshots credits: WoodMan & Necron for AdA team We know it's december, but we're still not able to provide a more precise release date :P Some last minutes bugs fixes/improvments are under way, rest assured that 'Chief' BarbsMan do well under pressure. Thank you for your encouragement, it's good to have your support for the (zig-zaging a bit) home stretch :) Cheers The AdA Mod team.1 point

Hi, If you're looking to gain a visual effect of turbulence. I suggest you use the camera jiggle feature (lshift + j) while in cockpit view (F1). I find it gives a good sense of turbulence while inside the Hawg.1 point

1 point

I would imagine the canopy actuator would be hot off the batt bus? You walk out to a cold jet, open the boarding ladder panel, extend the ladder, there must be a switch to open the canopy so you can climb in and turn on external or APU power... Just checked the a-10a manual... TO 1A-10A-1 says: "Normal raising or lowering of the canopy is accomplished by control switches, from inside or outside the aircraft (figure 1-24). The canopy is opened and closed by an actuator that operates on battery bus power." Pg 1-48 and 1-49 Now who wants to try draining EDs virtual Hawg battery by opening and closing the canopy repeatedly with no power turned on... ;)1 point
-
Two things... 1) Our pilots taxi all the time real world with the canopy open. 2) The canopy in the A-10 isn't hydraulicly actuated it's an electrical actuator. The canopy actuator on the A-10 is actually very large compared to say an F-15 which yes, an F-15 you don't taxi with the canopy opened.1 point

The learning curve is steep, but with a combination of the flight manual and a great community, all of your questions will be answered. Take the time to read the manual, you won't be dissappointed. Even after you master the weapons systems, you'll find that the joy of flying the hog isn't dimenished. I was flying a mission not long ago; JTAC had just given me my 9line for a bombing run on a tank element. I was coming over a mountain aligning my TGP to the target and saw a great cloud formation next to me. I forgot all about the target and played in the cloud for a while. I guess that's the good thing about flying it in a sim.. my commanding officer didn't walk up to me as I exited the plane to tear my wings off for being a goofball heheh. Welcome to the best sim and community available!1 point
