Hi all, Since I wanted an app with checklists based on Paulrkiii's checklists I created a new iPad app. This community has been more than helpful in providing guides, checklists and other downloads, so I thought I'd share mine. The app has been approved by Apple today and it's available for free on this link: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/yawc/id495914525?mt=8 For now the app has these features: - Checklists for normal operation. You can choose between Paulrkiii checklists and WariorX checklists (with a few additions from Paulrkiii's) Selecting which checklist to use can be done by going into your iPad settings and choosing yawc settings. - Emergency checklists. based on Paulrkiii Emergency ops checklist - Caution panel, also based on Paulrkiii emergency procedures. - Airfield maps by shu77 - RWR Threats by Toby23 - Ordnance overview by Toby23 Thanks to all above for creating this content and allowing me to use it in this app. It's been quite a copy/paste/edit fest so feel free to point out any errors and/or typos I've made. Also, all other suggestions and comments are welcome. I hope you enjoy this app. :pilotfly: Update v1.1.0 - Replaced cockpit layout panels with better resolution - Moved RWR Threats and ordnance tabs to Reference tab - Added JTAC 9 Line UTM coordinate entry procedure to reference - Added HOTAS function layout to reference - Added Notepad tab1 point

Добрый день. Записал видео посадки в сложных метео условиях с использованием радионавигации и инструментальной системы посадки. Ролик не преследует обучающих целей, но, возможно, кому-нибудь пригодится.1 point

Hi all, I'm new to the DCS universe but have been glued to this forum since the P-51D announcement was made. Being more interested in WWII warbirds I only know DCS for it's reputation for producing very high quality modern day aircraft simulations, and have watched some instructional videos which seem to confirm the validity of that reputation for me. Seeing such a divided response throughout this community on the announcement of the P-51 (really seems like it's 50/50), I'd like to offer an 'outsider's' point of view on ED's move and what this may mean. I believe it's a very smart move on ED's part to develop the P-51D. It allows ED to put 'their toe in the water' of the large WWII simulations market without having to commit to more than faithfully producing this aircraft. The P-51 is such a legacy of an aircraft that a lot of people will want to fly it even outside of a WWII combat context. I've read a lot of messages from community members here saying that while they wish ED had not put resources into a non-modern day aircraft, they'd still get it just to fly it. There's people who presently fly on other platforms not so interested in the combat aspects (AoA, X-Plane) who'll want to fly it due to the high fidelity it promises and come to this platform. And then there's the WWII aviation enthusiasts like myself who likes his WWII combat flying but would definitely move to this platform just to experience 'the real deal' in terms of systems and flight model, even if it was just a one off airplane from that genre that ED had produced and no WWII combat scenarios would follow. However, I do not see why (successfully) putting the toe in the water should not be followed by firmly putting a foot on the ground. All seems to be in place. A combat simulation platform. A highly qualified team. The resources of the Fighter Collection. And a market that is eager for something authentic, high quality and working. There are many ways to heaven. In the future, the dividing lines between the various aviation game developers will not be so much the time periods they are focused on, but the level of depth and autenticity versus broadness they will offer. Excellent times for people who love flight simulations! MAC1 point

Unless you're bound by "pc restrictions", i'd turn up the graphics and resolution a little bit. Either that, or you're using some bad compression methods. :P I noticed that your video is somewhat pixelated, and the bit-rate seems kinda low. Oh and the name of the movie reminds me somewhat of another movie made by another Amraam on these forums. :)1 point

Sorry! Didn't want to hurt ye feelings! You are a bad cop as well... say bad cop lieutenant? :D1 point

What's with the misguided sense of entitlement? You have the manual - why not print it yourself? Too expensive? Well then there's your answer ;) As for what the A-10 manual has to do with a Flying Legends module, well I'm tickled clueless. Each however to their own.1 point

Фанатизм к продукции ED застилает вам взор. Моя позиция не должна совпадать с позицией ED.:) P.S. Какая блин корона? Это вы про ту пудовую гирю на шее? :megalol:1 point

You're intentionally being anal now. I can't fly an armed to the teeth P-51D into fictitious battles because of the dress code? Remember, the Navy didn't have real Su-27s so it was Hornets vs Hornets at Top Gun. ED modeled this P-51D after 'the' P-51D. It was built to be a fighter first not airshow plane. I'm positive if FAA and ATF allow, most of these owners would mount .50 cals in a heartbeat.1 point

Here is a simple method. Get the hagstrom keyboard card or the Leo bodhar's Bu0836X. The hagstrom card is treated like a keyboard. Then you assign keystrokes to each input in the card. The Leo card is treated like a joystick controller in windows. You then use the wonderful Helios and bind the inputs to the game. No programming like PIC in both cases. It doesn't get simpler than that.1 point

Yep, but you have to change it within the mission file itself. Simply open each mission up in the editor, find your aircraft, and select "Start from ramp"1 point

Well, the guys you have to trust about DCS fidelity are on ED's payroll (mostly), so it applies equally on both sides. :) I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what people who have both the A2A Pony and the DCS one think about whatever differences there are. I'm still not sure I'll purchase the A2A one (a bit dodgy economics to purchase it just to give it a test run), so we'll see what those that do say. :)1 point

Maybe we should ban old Geezers who want to ban teenagers and think WWII was great. You guys should realize that the majority of people who buy sims are young adults. And they want MODERN JETS and HELI's. WWII had its day, last two decades or so. Not only that, theres a litteral TON of sims for WWII out there (none of which I own). Now people want Vietnam, maybe Korea, and up. Which means they want jets and heli's, and the one or two props that were in Korea. Its good to know now that this was just a technology demonstration that's probably a one off. Eases my mind a little. With a little 1950's tech put in it, COIN loadout, etc., it might even be interesting. Now we just need a 1950's Korean / Vietnam setting. But if you really want to make this forum happy, please, TELL US ALREADY WHAT JET YOU GUYS ARE WORKING ON! These little surprises are driving the MAJORITY OF US CRAZY!. As you can see from the polls, most want the F-18 and carrier ops, but we would gladly settle for F16, F15, F14, any decent mig, even Alpha Jet. Were not THAT picky. Just a decent modern jet simulation done by DCS. Whatever jet your working on, then 99% of us are going to be happy. Hell, I'll even go for a F-104. Even a jet bomber like the F-111 would be interesting. Just please, for the love of GOD, tell us what it is so everyone can relax! One more "surprise" and we may just riot!1 point

Hahaha, now I can't stop imagining all sorts of weird JTAC mods like "Gilbert Gottfried" or "really stoned guy." Actually, in all seriousness it would be neat if the voices were kind of like skins, and chosen randomly for each unit of that type, so for example your wingman would have any of a number of voices you had downloaded and placed in the appropriate directory. Recording all the little lines might be a pain but it'd be a simple way to add more variety. I'd be weird to listen to yourself, but you could have a friend with a cool voice over for an afternoon in exchange for a case of beer or something, then edit the timings so it flows and upload it for everyone to use. (Maybe this is already possible and I'm just ig'nant.)1 point

I'm watching your suffering now a week and it really makes me also very sorry that you have to go trough this... But I have a Idea and this is also very vague but it might work. .... My idea is to try a different render-path by using SoftTH. SoftTH also works when you use only one monitor. I'm curious what will happen. Just give it a try: http://www.kegetys.net/forum/index.php?topic=2123.0 when you have problems to configure - give me your exact monitor-layout and I could write a working file for you within minutes. Just a guess to bring you back into the cockpit until you have working drivers for your card.1 point
