  1. hello just something to consider. i bought a high end PC in 2021. it has a 3090 and and 11th gen i9. still playing with the following settings with no issues. ['volumetricLights'] = 1; ['AA'] = 'DLAA'; ['forestDetailsFactor'] = 1; ['rainDroplets'] = true; ['LensEffects'] = 2; ['box_mouse_cursor'] = false; ['anisotropy'] = 4; ['water'] = 2; ['motionBlurAmount'] = 1; ['BlurFlatShadows'] = 0; ['outputGamma'] = 1.9; ['aspect'] = 2.3888888888889; ['lights'] = 2; ['LODmult'] = 1; ['MSAA'] = 1; ['statsColor'] = { [1] = 250; [2] = 250; [3] = 250; }; ['messagesFontScale'] = 2; ['canopyReflections'] = 1; ['width'] = 3440; ['visibRange'] = 'Extreme'; ['DLSS_PerfQuality'] = 1; ['useDeferredShading'] = 1; ['clutterMaxDistance'] = 0; ['textures'] = 2; ['cockpitGI'] = 0; ['terrainTextures'] = 'max'; ['height'] = 1440; ['multiMonitorSetup'] = '1camera'; ['shadows'] = 1; ['defaultFOV'] = 78; ['shadowTree'] = false; ['chimneySmokeDensity'] = 1; ['secondaryShadows'] = 0; ['SSS'] = 0; ['fullScreen'] = true; ['preloadRadius'] = 50000; ['scaleGui'] = 1; ['Scaling'] = 0.66; ['DOF'] = 0; ['clouds'] = 3; ['sceneryDetailsFactor'] = 1; ['Upscaling'] = 'OFF'; ['Sharpening'] = 0; ['motionBlur'] = 0; ['ColorGradingLUT'] = 0; ['SSLR'] = 0; ['effects'] = 3; ['SSAO'] = 0; ['maxFPS'] = 180; ['sync'] = false; ['heatBlr'] = 0; ['forestDistanceFactor'] = 0.5; ['flatTerrainShadows'] = 0; ['civTraffic'] = ''; ['ScreenshotExt'] = 'jpg'; i am quite happy with the views and performance. i do not experience any of the BS that others with better systems report.
  2. are you able to take the two DIMs out and get clear pictures of the labels. i agree with @draconus. possibly the two DIMMs are not compatible with each other together.
  3. i was stationed in Wildflecken near the Fulda Gap. i am familiar with these two places. i like flying around CWG for sure.
  4. what!? i did not hear this. LOL. that sucks.
  5. hello symbolic links is the way but you do not want to do it. or clone the smaller NVME to the new NVME. i personally cloned a 2 TB to a 4 TB in under an hour. no problems. to do this you need to have an NVME cradle. preferably USB C. https://www.acasis.com/collections/acasis-hub/products/acasis-nvme-m-2-drive-duplicator-offline-clone-docking-station?variant=45871957967077 i used acronis that i also use for backup. there is a cloning utility bundled with the software. there are some free ones out there too.
  6. ah. i see you have the VTOL MOD installed.
  7. hello, sounds like the pagefile is still windows managed. ensure your settings look like this
  8. welcome back my labels are always changing. likely because some missions i download have them forced disabled or forced enabled. not really sure. although i have not made changes to my system, there are some other options in DCS nowadays that are meant to improve the spotting. Options > Gameplay null
  9. this is what real carriers do. if there is a 10 knot wind, that means the landing or take off speed is reduced. the carrier is also quite fast it can make more than 30 knots. so in this equation the take off speed is reduced by 40 knots. this is to maximize airflow across the deck. land aircraft will use the best runway to head into the wind too. many large airports have multi directional runways to allow this.
  10. my system has that service enabled. i do however use the default windows ultimate power plan. the power plan has to be specially enabled. i do not have or ever had stutters. my system is an i9 11 series cpu and a 3090 gfx card.
  11. hello i found a post with a reference to the "dcs render time exceeded allowed slice" error. the post also states an f14 livery may be the cause. your log 2025-11-20 16:13:43.154 ERROR EDCORE (11576): Drivers errors while mounting coremods/aircraft/f14/liveries/f-14a-135-gr-early/.gitkeep: 2025-11-20 16:13:43.154 ERROR EDCORE (11576): ZipDriver: Failed to open zip archive coremods/aircraft/f14/liveries/f-14a-135-gr-early/.gitkeep. 2025-11-20 16:13:43.154 ERROR EDCORE (11576): Drivers errors while mounting coremods/aircraft/f14/liveries/f-14a-95-gr/.gitkeep: 2025-11-20 16:13:43.154 ERROR EDCORE (11576): ZipDriver: Failed to open zip archive coremods/aircraft/f14/liveries/f-14a-95-gr/.gitkeep. also this post just a quick test for you would be to change out that livery. i can also try it on my system. when does the mission hang? do you ever get the mission start?
  12. as @AndyJWest stated, this issue has been around for a long time. here is one topic from years ago that i jokingly posted in.
  13. i have some limited flight background. i have never seen a UH-1 preflight checklist. but i would guess, just like AC i am familiar with, there has to be something making one check controls are centered or whatever. imagine if the throttle for any AC was full on and the engine starts. or even minimally. an enthusiast remote control vehicle. don't turn on power prior to centering controls. you piqued my interest and found this https://www.facebook.com/groups/61123668011/posts/10163451232143012/ 17. Test Cyclic then center 18. Test Collective then lower 19. Test anti-torque pedals then center (they spelled pedals "petals"; stupid AI)
  14. @Reflected and @Slippa - do you have hotplug in options disabled? please share your DCS.log. these disconnects will be recorded in there. also i found that setting my windows power profile to ultimate will nip the sleepy devices in the bud. kind of like a dog and sheep
