  1. The SM-3 weren't affected by the DCS update issue.
  2. Correct. The US asset pack was updated the 15th. And as mentioned above, besides the announcement I make here in the thread, always check my website. You have the release log on the landing page as well as a detailed changelog per country (if you click on a country at the top).
  3. I haven't released the fix update for the China pack yet.
  4. The fix updates are incremental updates. Just unzip them and overwrite the files in your complete asset pack.
  5. I should clarify for everyone. I've been working on replacing all the broken missiles for the last three weeks. I had to use all the tricks in the book to get them to basically work again. Core DCS doesn't have accessible weapon schemes made for these kind of weapons (like the GMLRS, ATACMS, PrSM, GLSDB, 9M723, YJ-21, DF-21D etc). It's not due to my lack of understanding these weapons, it's because I haven't found another way to implement them. The alternative would be to remove them. I have tested numerous different solutions, and this is the least worst one. I've experimented a lot with the SCUD code, but we need to understand the aim_data parameters for it to be useful.
  6. Because I had to be really creative to get all the missiles working again. To be honest, I'm glad I actually found a way to implement them again. The fins are folded during the "boost" phase and will then unfold.

  8. Do you mean you can't fire them if you take control of the assets? If so, that's correct. DCS doesn't allow me to implement more advanced radars (with separate channels etc) and still retain the feature to manually fire them. And since I primarily make AI assets I chose to have the more advanced radars.
  9. Could you be more specific, which asset and weapon?

  11. It's got nothing to do with ED. It's just an incorrect setting of the train. I always start out my configurations by setting the hardware limitations. In this case the Mark 45 can actually rotate +170/-170 degrees. I then set hard limits to protect the ship. In this case I had forgot to set the hard limits. It'll be fixed in the next update.
  12. It doesn't really seem to matter how many status updates I write. Scroll back in the thread and look for the headline "Status update", where I describe what's going on.
  13. No, the intention of the update is to fix the missile related issues.

  16. Nope, I have probably spent more than 100 hours trying to get the current assets working again since the May 22th update. I'd rather be developing new stuff to be honest.
  17. There are no issues making a copy of the SCUD. And just like the core SCUD it won’t hit a carrier placed in the middle of a field. The secret sauce lies in the pre-programmed table I mentioned. Not until we have decoded it may we have a true ballistic missile.
  18. If only it were that simple. In most cases it's not possible to fully emulate a weapon system in DCS, there are always restriction. But I try my best. In this case, for comparison, the ATACMS travel at around Mach 3 with an apogee altitude of 50-60 km. The DF-21D travels at around Mach 8-15 with an apogee estimated at 400 km. Since they have very different characteristics I want that to show, but as a last resort I might have to implement a stopgap solution like you mention. I would really like to be able to make ballistic trajectories in DCS, but it doesn't seem to be a way to auto-calculate them. The SCUD is pre-programmed with a table of data with coordinates, altitude etc for its trajectory.
  19. Status update Weapon issues with DCS 2.9.5.55300 There are currently three main issues at hand. Issue #1 - Affecting all SAMs using TVC - making them go haywire and flying everywhere All affected missiles in all the affected country packs have been fixed. Tests are finished and everything seem to work as intended. Issue #2 - Affecting all missiles using the old DCS missile parameter set - making them fall short of the intended target As I mentioned before, this issue is a bit more tricky as it can't be reproduced with DCS core units (as ED has migrated all their weapons to newer parameter sets), and therefore we can't submit a proper error report to ED. I'm working weapon for weapon to see what I can come up with. I've redone the artillery guided shells again, wasn't happy with the last solution since it wasn't accurate enough. I'm feeling pretty happy with the new solution, testing is ongoing. This version will also have separate artillery assets for unguided and guided shells. Here's the preliminary list of assets affected by issue #2 (green means the issue has been solved): HIMARS ATACMS HIMARS PrSM HIMARS PrSM antiship HIMARS GLSDB HIMARS GMLRS M270 GLSDB M270 GMLRS M270 ATACMS M777 Excalibur B-21 AGM-88G DF-21D PCL-181 GP155 Type 055 YJ-21 Iskander 9M723 Grigorovich Frigate RBU-6000 Artillerisystem 08 Excalibur PzH 2000 Excalibur Issue #3 - Affecting ATGMs I have fixed the ATGMs, but unfortunately I had to remove the top attack mode, since I haven't found a good enough solution, that's consistent. So we'll have to live with direct attack mode until further notice, but they work against both ground vehicles and slow helicopters. Here's the preliminary list of assets affected by issue #3 (green means fixed): AFT-10 HJ-10 CV9050 Spike LR2 RBS 58 FGM-148 Testing is ongoing for the green assets, while I'm working on finding suitable solutions for the non fixed assets. I plan to continuously release fix updates for the country packs where all assets are working.
  20. As I mentioned earlier, I had to pause all development on the German pack update since there are so many broken assets. And it stays paused until I have figured out solutions for the 13 assets that still doesn't work.
  21. Status update Weapon issues with DCS 2.9.5.55300 As you remember, there are currently two issues at hand. The solution for guided artillery shells seem to work as intended. With the added benefit that guided shell will now also have the firing effect (this was a known limitation in my current version). There will also be separate artillery assets for unguided and guided shells. There is unfortunately no solutions for the other assets (beyond the guided artillery shells) yet. Here's the preliminary list of assets affected by issue #3 (green means fixed): AFT-10 HJ-10 CV9050 Spike LR2 RBS 58 FGM-148 I'm currently cleaning up the packages and creating incremental updates that will fix the ones in green above. That will give me time to develop solutions for the remaining issues, while at least all SAMs, artillery and ATGMs work as intended.
  22. Thanks! Yep, that would be great! Or some kind of documentation.
  23. Status update Weapon issues with DCS 2.9.5.55300 As you remember, there are currently two issues at hand. I've been working on a solution for the guided artillery shells which seem to work, we're about to start testing. No solutions for the other assets yet. Here's the preliminary list of assets affected by issue #2: HIMARS ATACMS HIMARS PrSM HIMARS PrSM antiship HIMARS GLSDB HIMARS GMLRS M270 GLSDB M270 GMLRS M270 ATACMS M777 Excalibur B-21 AGM-88G DF-21D PCL-181 GP155 Type 055 YJ-21 Iskander 9M723 Grigorovich Frigate RBU-6000 Artillerisystem 08 Excalibur PzH 2000 Excalibur Issue #3 - Affecting ATGMs Work has begun to find solutions for these, I've tested a lot of different solutions, but DCS doesn't seem to work as before and everything I try is inconsistent. For example, I can get a missile to guide perfectly to a target two times in a row, but the next missile just go haywire and doesn't track at all. These kind of issues are very hard to pinpoint. Here's the preliminary list of assets affected by issue #3: AFT-10 HJ-10 CV9050 Spike LR2 RBS 58 FGM-148 On top of that, I've been out of action for a couple days, caught some bug. But I intend to return to troubleshooting by tomorrow.
  24. I have already sorted out all the SAM issues, just hold your horses and I will release them as incremental updates. I was hoping to be able to fix the two other types of issues at the same time, but it doesn't look good at the moment.
  25. Haha, yep, the SAM issue looks pretty hilarious.
