I've tried different techniques to achieve a more advanced terminal maneuver. For the RBS 15 I implemented a combination of very low altitude on half and jump on half, to make is harder for the CIWS to counter. I've also tried things like setting the GPS error to a high setting which will make the missile turn hard when turning on its seeker. They are all better than nothing, but they're still workarounds. -

My incremental download for the US pack is around 5% of the complete pack. I've used GitHub a lot for development, so I'm familiar with its pros and cons. The main issues in this use case is the fact that my DCS asset packs contains 99% textures and model data. I would run into size issues requiring Git LFS, storage space issues and of course usability issues. I get a lot of questions about installing the asset packs as of now, imagine if all users had to sync a repository. -

I don't allow redistribution of my assets or files from within them. But you can always use my models by linking to them from other mods. As long as you have my asset packs installed DCS will find the linked model. -

The gatling/rotary gun based CIWS can be pretty effective, at single targets. They fire an enormous amount of projectiles in a very short amount of time. A subsonic antiship missile will have to rely on simultaneous attacks, evasive maneuvers and low visibility to avoid being defeated. As I said before, it's a shame we can't implement more types of evasive maneuvers, like snaking. In your example, I assume the NSMs arrived one at a time since the CIWS wouldn't be able to engage multiple targets at once. -

What do you mean? I just tested a mission with two of my M2A3 against a Ka-52 with Vikhrs. The Ka-52 stayed outside of the M2A3 range and fired one Vikhr on each and they were destroyed. -

Strange, I've had AI aircraft engage them many times during testing. It's a shame we can't add snake maneuvers. I've made the NSM with smaller RCS to emulate its stealth capabilities, but it's not enough against the modern ships with high end AESA radars. I might add a final maneuver as it would be more realistic. Maybe, I didn't think it was important as the launcher is mobile only. You are completely correct, most of my assets emulate the latest and greatest in military hardware. It would be rather strange if they didn't outclass the older stuff in DCS core. Make sure to set their skill level to low, and don't believe a single flight would take out a modern SAM system. You need good tactics, decoys and numbers. Well, a lot of DCS users run single player missions only. Besides that, it's not much we can do about it. It's either this or we don't have the assets at all. I sure do have a lot of fun running different scenarios with a lot of my assets involved. -

I did some testing and I agree. The flight profile of the HHQ-9 doesn't work very well against the PrSM. I will make a note of it for the next update. -

Thanks, I was sure I had fixed the wheel issue. But it seems I only fixed one side. The LAV-AD is already available in desert. The HIMARS also comes with desert liveries. But there seem to be an issue with it on the GLSDB and PrSM AShM versions. All the others have working desert liveries. -

Thanks! I see the issue, it's the target type. In order to make my DF-21 reasonable accurate in regards to precision I had to be inventive. It uses radar homing, and your target ship doesn't have a radar. If I had used the standard GPS tracking it would be 0 millimeter accurate, which wouldn't be very realistic. -

Agree. I did a lot of testing in regards to this a while ago. But unfortunately I couldn't find a way to make a helicopter with AWACS attributes in DCS. -

I mostly make one version of my assets, but in the rare cases I make exceptions. For example when an asset have very different weapons, like the HIMARS, and there is no way of controlling it efficiently without having multiple different assets. Or in the case of the Arleigh Burke, where the ship in itself is such a centerpiece of the US Navy, and has been for such a long time (unlike other ships like the Chinese Type 055 which is very new). In this case I wanted to make both an older and a newer versions for users to be able to play out different era scenarios. Only having the Flight III with every new and shiny weapon would easily become very anachronistic in scenarios taking place before yesterday. Continuing with the Arleigh Burke example, there is something in there for everyone. If you just want to play with the new toys, use the Flight III with the radar seeker missiles and new TLAM with antiship capability. But if your scenario takes place 5-10 years ago (or earlier), use the IIA with the semi-active missiles guided by the fire control radars and its limitations with the number of simultaneous targets etc. -

Nice! Don't forget that you can add a PAC-3 launcher to the THAAD system also. It'll use the TPY-2 radar. Haha, everything is a competition.
