  1. Oh yes....:megalol: The laser also gets pretty hot when it is in use. I don't know how good the cooling equipment inside the pod is, but generally, shorter firing time=cooler laser=longer lasting hardware=cheaper.
  2. :megalol:
  3. There's got to be a large cutout in the pilot's seat to allow room for this pilot's much larger than normal reproductive organs.:music_whistling::D
  4. In this post, I link to a list of documents I have assembled: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1172809&postcount=107 There are also some documents from this post onwards: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1194953&postcount=112
  5. Ding!Ding!Ding!Ding!Ding! You are correct!
  6. :surprise::worthy:I think I might die of envy. Is it at all possible to post the dimensions of the control stick without the grip? Also, do you know how much travel there is when its installed in the cockpit? Some more pics of the ADI would be cool too, if that's not to much to ask.:smilewink: @Olgerd: I'm swimming in specs! Thanks.
  7. I am just a little ashamed that I am of the same species that would do something like this. But it's still kinda funny.
  8. Cool stuff you have there, looks good. It inspires me to speed up my own work. :worthy: Just what I needed to work on the CAD for my recreations of these instruments! Thanks.
  9. The entire place is really cool. The guy in charge is just a big 10 year old:D
  10.
  11. One of the articles did mention thermite grenades.
  12. You could take lessons in whatever you wanted, but you would need at least a 3rd class medical to solo, as it has been stated. Also, the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association has pilot's hotline that you can call for information. I'm unsure if you have to be a member or not, but you first six months of membership are free. TONS of information on anything you want to know about flying and directions to places with information if they don't have it directly. EDIT: I just thought of the Sport Pilot's licence. You can use a driver's licence to establish medical fitness, and demonstrate safe operation of the aircraft. It's a fairly restricted licence (daytime, good weather, 1 passenger max, also limits on aircraft power and weight), but you're still flying an airplane.
  13. Probably not. The AoA sensors would signal the slats to deploy, which help turn the flow into the engines. Only if the aircraft were in a very deep stall, maybe with AoA > 30 degrees would the engines cease to get smooth air.
  14. *DROOOOOOOOOL* Nice.
  15. Dude, Awesome! Melikes the engineering state of mind.
  16. I can't imagine how bad the stall behavior was. :joystick:
  17. Such bad photoshopping!:D
  18. That's why they use test stands. I read about an incident where an airliner was taking off, it ingested a bird, and the engine stopped spinning within one revolution:shocking: The breakaway bolts failed as well, so the force mangled the wing.
  19. It most certainly does...NOT! I love that show.
  20. Nicely done. Is the light bleed I see a function of the camera?
  21. Sure does, mate. Join the club.
  22. :megalol::megalol:
  23. Actually, no it doesn't, because the cascades are still covered when the plane touches the ground.
  24. I'm not sure of the the C-17, but I am positive that there are aircraft that can reverse in flight, like the Twin Otter and other DeHavilland designs. I would guess that most of the aircraft that can do this are propller driven. @ErichVon: What you describe here is a forward slip, and is not recommended for slowing down quickly, but rather assisting in keeping speed in check when descinding over obstacles. In the A-10, you have a pair of massive speed brakes. Make use of them. Try flying the approach with them set at 30% ~ 40%, and carrying some power to maintan a reasonable glidepath. The engines will be spooled up to a point where they are more responsive, and you have almost instant drag when you idle the throttle over the threshold of the runway.
  25. :D Gotta love Gordon Shumway.
