  1. This has been annoying me for quite a while now... Is it something I do wrong or is there something not working properly? This has been happening a lot in the fast mission generator, then it did happen to me in a campaing mission and finally, I did a test tonight, just simple in the mission Editor... Here is my problem : When I start hearing Bullseye calls (usually way too many for the same group of vehicles..) I hook myself on the TAD and put the TAD in mode BUL-CURS, then I can move around the cursor and have a rough idea where are the targets... Very often, the calls point to a location that is totally out of the way, far from the battle… Still, when I wasnt sure, I thought, OK… perhaps there is something I dont see... But tonight in Georgian Hammer (mission 2-3), the Bullseye call was pointing somewhere in Turkey, way south of Batumi, when we all know that the battle in Georgian Hammer is north of Batumi… I decided to make an experimentation : I set-up a small mission where I fly towards a bunch of vehicles and there is one F-16 that is flying towards it too (assigned CAS). I did again the hooking of myself and the BUL-CURS setting on the TAD and I see the F-16 (because of EPLRS) on my TAD. At one point, he says : ‘tally utility at bulls such and such’ and a minute later ‘engaging utility’ at bulls such and such And I think finally ‘kill utility at bulls such and such’ I can see the purple beam of his SPI on my TAD and I put my cursor on it and… it is not at all the Bullseye coordinates that he is calling. Further more, the 3 different ‘such and such’ that he called were very different (and I had put the bullseye far enough that it is not because it was in the middle…) Now, what is wrong with this? thanks JF
  2. Hey! Mizzy Nice to see you around the forums! Hope you are well! Just read your post and I must say that A-10C is a fantastic simulator. There is such an immersion from all those parameters that one has to take into consideration.. perhaps all those switches are a lot of details, but I guess that is one of the reasons a lot of guys love it. But the mission editor and the beauty of the sim world are two great assets that will definitely benefit LOFC 3 and I am looking forward to it too! Anyways, just wanted to say hello! to the queen of lockon!:) Jean-Francois
  3. Thanks Loz. My other question is : wth the system that I have now in my SIG, (and I can run the SIM at pretty much everything maxed out in 3840x1280 and have a decent frame rates in the twenties in cockpit at airbases) do you think that if I use the other slot of my graphics card for another 1920x1080 of screen estate, it will slow down the performance of the SIM a lot? thanks JEFX
  4. Wow Loz, that looks great! Can you say what is the best size of touchscreen in order to get the best out of this? I am very interested in setting one up! Also, I heard that some touchscreens work better than others (brands, models?) with Windows 7/64, do you have any suggestions or precisions on this? thanks JEFX (Hi! Ratcatcher, this can be a great addition to the TripleHead, no?):)
  5. One negative point: it is said in the release notes that : Train Tunnel entrances are correctly textured now It is not true, many are missing and even worse than in LOMAC... I use to love one particular tunnel north of SOCHI, west of HOSTA where trucks would drive out of the tunnel and engage on this great long bridge (great targets...) well, the tunnel entrance is gone on both sides of the mountain... what is wrong???
  6. Also : did anyone notice the nice concentric marks that rain leaves on water now?
  7. add some math homeworks to do on it or dishwasher to empty:smilewink:
  8. Yes the PAPI lights finally work!
  9. One of the best way to explore the map for future mission making is to start the game with nothing in it and when the game starts it will default to the map (F10) view. From there one can scroll anywhere on the map and hit LCTL-F11 to be directly in the 3D world at that exact spot (and be able to explore with mouse and zoom functions (NUM/ and NUM*). It can be better, when in F10 view, to zoom all the way to the ground (where the NEW buildings are seen from up close) and then hit LCTL-F11 to be at ground level, for example. The advantage of this technique, is that one doesnt have to restart the whole game to look at the terrain, it is instantaneous from F10 to F11. hope this helps... JEFX
  10. It says in the release notes of patch 1110 that there is a new model of ticonderoga class cruiser but when one tries to put a ship in the ME (with USA as being the country) it is not in the dropdown menu ???
  11. Some of the novelties in this great patch are deep with immersion signification. I am quite amazed at the quality of this patch! I think that visual impression, for example, is a question of balance between several elements and some of them are finally working together to make the impression so realistic and immersive ! Lighting coherence: For example, the airport lights are finally fixed! Before, they looked like round blue balloons (and even sometime they did look like two dimensional drawings on paper..) and one could see them from way too far. Now they look great and realistic, you don’t see them from so far away and the white lights, the blue taxi lights, the red and white landing lights, etc, they all make a whole that is fantastic, especially added to the fact that the nights are now darker and more realistic! When you put together the better airport lights, the darker nights, the beautiful and varied aircraft lights and the now very convincing town and city lights, the whole visuals at night is great and much more balanced! Weather coherence: The same thing goes with the now fantastic balance between the new changing cirrus clouds, the normal clouds and the fog. Seen from Angels 20, with the cirrus above (and they can be very different from one part of the map to another, and sometime disappear completely…), the nice clouds below and the ground that disappear in the distance because of fog, the landscape is fantastic! Waves, ships and shadows: More immersive eye candy: the recently introduced pitching and rolling ships that can now have helos take off and land on, make for a very beautiful sea landscape with waves (especially with a bit of fog). Of course, one of the most beautiful innovations of this patch is the new Tree shadows, which makes the whole map and landscape much more realistic looking! (together with the cockpit shadows introduced a bit earlier…) Working ATC indications: Finally, the ATC indications make sense and the QFE is right, which makes the landing altimeter procedure correct. For me that is great (despite the fact that ATC is still very limited, not very talkative…). Little details that count: Have you noticed the new data/info box in the F10 map (I don’t recall that it was announced in the release notes?). It is very well done. And the propellers of the E-2 finally work! And this is just my impressions of some eye candy of the first flight I did with the patch! THANKS ED, this is a great patch, with solid performance (almost increase) and installed totally hassle free on top of my 1009. JEFX
  12. If you set one waypoint and the next pretty far apart, the route around (just in order to get from WP1 to 2) can be pretty long! You only need to add more waypoints at crossroads if you want to control where they go, but I never thought that this was a difficulty? :)
  13. Thanks Nom de Plume, you are a great pedagogue! Very clear explanation! I take for granted that FLAG #2 IS (value of course) EQUAL TO is a condition that is not yet implemented but coming in the next patch, that is why Weta was talking about MORE THAN and SMALLER THAN, as a workaround to do EQUALS TO... ?? merci Jean-Francois
  14. but now, I really dont understand how Weta's idea can work in this context ???
  15. I see... I had not gotten that at all... Thanks for the clarification.
  16. Hey, may I ask the advice of our experts^ I am not sure what I am doing wrong but I am trying to make this SET FLAG RANDOM to work and I cannot... I made a very very simple experiment to see if it worked, please tell me what I am doing wrong: I have put 4 groups (#001-004) with a big delay in their activation (in order for them to spawn upon a trigger only). I have made 4 triggers to activate them ONCE ... FLAG 2 IS TRUE ... ACTIVATE GROUP (groupe 001) ONCE ... FLAG 3 IS TRUE ... ACTIVATE GROUP (groupe 002) ETC.. UP TO FLAG 5 AND GROUP 004 I made a trigger to activate the SET RANDOM FLAG process : ONCE ... RANDOM 100% ... FLAG TRUE (1) and finally I made the SET RANDOM like this : ONCE ... FLAG IS TRUE (1) ... SET RANDOM FLAG (1, MIN: 2 and MAX : 5) In my logics, that means that FLAG 1 is going to be activated (100% probability!) and therefore, when it is activated, it will be turned into # 2-3-4 or 5 randomly... which in turn will activate one of the groups (001-2-3-or 4)... But it just doesnt work and nothing spawns... :( any hint?? thanks! Jean-Francois
  17. Thanks Weta very clever!
  18. Could you please explain step by step ??? Thanks
  19. Thanks Boarder Thanks Advice Puppy (what a name!!!)
  20. Hi! Boarder2 I just bought an iPad2 and downloaded your app (iControl DCS) right away! Looks great and thank you. I have a few issues in order to be able to setup properly, can you help me please? I have Windows 7/64 PC, ipad2 bought recently and DCS A-10C 1.0.0.9. I also have 3 monitors and tripleHeadtoGo. I cannot set it up to work the way I want... Yes, I set it up correctly that I still see my normal F1 view on my 3 screens panned normally. Yes, everything works fine on the server-client thing because, I can see the MFDs and I can use the UFC no problem on my iPad. My concern is : can I do this without seeing a replica of the MFCDs and UFC data on my computer screen? because this is a real drawback... I bought your application so that I can look at the Hud and landscape and have MFCDs and UFC on my iPad2, not sitting stupidly on top of my view (this is very unrealistic...). When i do your view configuration function: if I dont tick show right (or left) MFCD then, I dont get the annoying MFCD on my main screen, but I dont see it anymore on my iPad (despite the fact that I can control it view OSB buttons on the ipad, but that is pretty useless... If i tick show right or left MFCD then it is great on the iPad, I can see it and control it with its own OSBs but I get those unnecessary MFCDs screens anywhere on my display. What is the way to go about this, please? thanks Jean-Francois
  21. Thanks for the quick answer! Definitely will be looking forward to any revision you have time to do! Let us know! JF
  22. I dont understand why, but everytime I try it says : cannot give reputation to this post, how is that??? This guy deserves it, great work, lots of work, free for the whole community, please?
  23. In the same line of ideas, this is a great idea! I concur. I would say that, to the least, could you make a way to have a notepad page attached to encycopedia pages so at least one could jot down the missing data (engagement envelopes, max and min firing ranges, etc of many many units, which we gather with time?) thanks and REP inboud, bravo! JF
  24. Hi! Adam, I just got an iPad2 a few days ago (just gave in...) and one of the first thing that I downloaded was your iWarthog : Congrats!!! it is a fine app, very well done, useful and beautiful!!! If you dont mind, I would have just a couple of suggestions (since you might have to upgrade it, since some airbases names will change in the next patch): first and foremost, I agree with those who spoke about it earlier in this thread : it would be fantastic to have a way to view the flight plan (mission data card) as a whole page (once it is edited, there could be another view perhaps in which one cannot edit but just view? just the data and relevant things, so we dont have to flip back and forth ...). 2) do you think it would be faisible to add to the mission data card another tab in which one could do a hand drawing (or stylus), therefore making one's sketch of a target area or flight plan, location of ennemies, etc? I always have love to make myself that kind of sketches, even when in flight, ex.: when one can see this river is here, the target is to the North, this mountain in the east is this high, our guys are here, etc...) I am thinking a drawing board like in apps like pennultimate or NotetakerHD, is that possible? 3) It would be nice also in the mission card to have a tab to enter the loadout in details (although we have our DSMS onboard...) 4) Would there be a way to validate with ED what are the REAL coded threat distances values for all SAMs and various threat units platforms so that you could incorporate a table of those? I know that we have had a few debates on the subject on this forum (actually since the very beginning of LOMAC 1) and it always seems that we have to experiment each unit to check its threat reaction enveloppe (whcih is either not given in the encyclopedia or not accurate to the game, because the encyclopedia is generic and gives general info) Anyways, I love so much your app that these are just suggestions for the future, but I want to say a big Thank you! Jean-Francois
  25. This is very true and as a matter of fact, it is usually advisable to add things incrementally or gradually and not everything at the same exact moment at the start of a mission. (especially to take into consideration those who have older machines...)
