  1. Thanks, will try now (which param exactly did you adjust for lateral FOV?).
  2. Hi all, Just got this magnificent plane and I cannot enjoy it yet because my FOV is not proper?? When I fire up the first M2000C instant action mission this is what I get (first screenshot). Compared to what I get when I launch the first instant action mission of the F-15C (second Screenshot). I dont know how to adjust the basic FOV of my aircraft (seems to be too narrow?). I know that I am using an unusually wide screen (3840X1024) but the FOV is OK with all other DCS aircraft... thanks for your help!
  3. Merci! I will give it a try, but I have absolutely no clue how to use scripts... never have... Thanks, I will try! Jean-Francois
  4. Hi all, I have been away from DCS for a long time and I am really happy to be back with 2.0! and Nevada! I am building myself a Nellis base template with hundreds of well placed static objects (to make the base look realistic). This mission will be a starting point for building missions. My question is : with the trigger system, how can I randomize the static objects spawning? (I would like it to occur at mission start so that the base looks different every time I start the mission).. I looked through all the triggers and there seems to be none regarding static objects???? thanks a lot for your help! JEFX
  5. MAC, try getting rid of DOF (Depth of field). It did a big change for me!
  6. Hi all! After several hours fiddling with the graphical options, with my system I found an immense difference in FPS with or without : DEPTH OF FIELD... (both kinds) Especially outside the aircraft... with DoF I was aroud 15-17 FPS and without, I came back up to the 50-70 that is more logical with my system. (inside the aircraft it didnt change that much). Just interesting to note! JEFX
  7. Hello everyone First of all, hello Mizzy, it is nice to see you here again! I have been away from Lockon/FC/DCS in the last couple of years (learning the 777, the 330 and 757 in X-Plane:))... Like Captain Spears just put it, I have myself also been flying combat simulators since the first days of Falcon 4... Perhaps 20 years... I remember reading avidly the reports about the progress of Lockon on the forums, before it was released... There was a story (perhaps by BeechAVR???) about a lonely morning patrol... It made everyone of us dream... Then it was finally released (I was one of the first purchaser, and also my Nic Cole Lockon Manual of 2003 bears number 26 !!!) then... the progress was regular, fantastic, well communicated by the devs and truly ground breaking! Lockon 2, Flaming cliffs, 1-2-3, the Shark, and most of all the A-10C with its most complex and realistic systems... But I must say, the only shadow in all this glory was the confinement to a single (beautiful) map... Remember the Crimea Tour by Mark "Shepski" Shepheard and expanded by BritRadarDude? a Great mission just to discover the different corners of the map... The harbour at Sebastopol... the summit of Mount Elbrus... the hidden valley of Arkhyz, Lake Ritsa... All places where we all designed fantastic missions... it is all about imagination... But now, for the first time in a decade, we are allowed to MOVE to a new area!! What a christmas present (of course, I bought the A-10C when it was Beta...) and I have never seen anything like this! Like Captain Spears just said, 'The sense of distance and perception of horizon is like nothing I've seen. ' and I would add, the sense of speed! And, like Mizzy said at the beginning of this thread, it is even much better than the videos and pictures!! Thanks!!!! JEFX
  8. Kayos Can you spell out exactly how to type the command, it is not working for me but I am sure it is a syntax problem... my installation location is O:\DCS World 2 OpenAlpha thanks
  9. Thanks great!!
  10. Thanks, I had read about that, but I cannot move back, I want to gain more FOV, any hint as to where to set this param as before?
  11. I dont know if I have become crazy, but I have always adjusted FOV in View.lua (per aircraft) Now in 1.2.8 beta the relevant lines seem to have disappeared? (I always need to readjust FOV at every patch since I have Th2Go and I need to set every AC's FOV to much more than default.) Anyone know where did it go? thanks a lot!!
  12. good! Always feel free to ask, there are great people here that have helped me and many of us in the last 10 years! cheers JEFX
  13. oh! and happy POST NUMBER 1!!! welcome with us! You will see, this is a great community!:)
  14. Hi Coolpoint I posted a detailed way to do it here : http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=122521 As stated by the devs, there can be some potential bugs in doing it so (some key mappings dont transfer so well, some controllers end up with doubled mappings, etc.) and it invalidate your right to post official BUGS... But if you just want to fly for yourself and you want your key mappings and controller assignements quickly transferred and mostly well, this is for you, it worked quite well for me. enjoy JEFX
  15. Yes, msalama is right, it requires a bit of cleanup...
  16. Sobek, a question : how about this : if one copies the old input lua files, loads the SIM and opens up the options and loads a favorite aircraft and then shuts down 1.2.8 and then DELETES the old files, just keeping the new .diff.lua generated, is that OK?
  17. OUPs, ok sorry, I should have titled : for those who dont want to file bug reports but want to have their old key/HOTAS bindings quickly into 1.2.8... Sorry about the confusion. It was not my intention. I was only trying to clarify something that I had read in another thread (http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=122479) in the 1.2.8 report area... I read that this could be done but it was not all clarified and I just wanted to help... Sorry (but for those who dont want to file bug reports, it works quickly) JEFX
  18. First of all, BRAVO!!!! this update is most significant and as a faithful LOMAC-LOCKON-DCS user since the very first days, 2004, I can only applaud to what is happening to our marvelous world of simulation!!!! YOU WANT TO KEEP ALL THOSE KEY BINDINGS AND HOTAS MAPPINGS THAT WERE SO LONG TO MAKE? For those who own DCS (and some modules) under a RELEASE form (the last was 1.2.7.23803) and want to download the new OPEN BETA 1.2.8 with all the new bells etc...) (And do this before playing around with the options and the controls and key mappings in the new 1.2.8, let it virgin before you do this, and use no mods) 1) you should make sure your current DCS is the last version (run the updater) and it should be 1.2.7.23803. 2) download the DCS 1.2.8 Open Beta installer on the DCS website (which will ask you for a destination on your HD that will be DIFFERENT from you current DCS 1.2.7, it is a separate instal. Here again is the link : http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/world/dcs_world_open_beta/ (and you need to sign unto the DCS web site). 3) once you have downloaded and INSTALLED the 1.2.8 build (open beta) it should have copied a bunch of files from your other 1.2.7 folder and some new files and that makes it a SEPARATE BUILD with its own shorcuts, etc... (DCS WORLD open beta single and multiplayer versions). YOU NEED ALSO TO OPEN THE MODULE MANAGER, SIGN IN AND DOWNLOAD ALL YOUR PAID MODULES, it is very easy and it does propose it to you right when you open it. 4) in order to get your options, key mappings and joystick bindings back, you need to copy them from your old saved games folder... -go to your ...users/username/saved games/DCS/config FOLDER -select : option.lua modifiers.lua (if you have made some) input FOLDER (whole) view FOLDER (whole) 5) copy all of these files directly into users/username/saved games/DCS.openbeta/Config FOLDER 6) launch the game in its new form (1.2.8 or DCS Open Beta) and go to the options. First of all you will notice that your old system options are transfered (screen resolution, HDR settings, etc.) But the most important for most of us is the HOTAS profile (or keyboard mappings) since they take long so make and are independant for each plane... 7) in the Options screen, clic the CONTROLS tab, in the leftmost choice (LAYERS) select the aircraft or vehicle for which you want to retain your old settings (ex.: F-15C OR SU-33). Once it is selected (and you might see a little lag or time to load some info...) just close the whole OPTIONS window by clicking OK at the botton (that will create the new controler files). 8) I am not sure, but I think you have to do it again for every one of your controlled vehicle or aircraft (because it is when you click OK that the files are created) : select another bought airplane or controlled vehicle and click OK, and open again the options window and controls tab, etc... 9) once you are finished, in each specific aircraft FOLDER inside Saved Games/DCS.open beta/Config/Input/ there will be a new file saved with all your old settings with the same name as before but with the suffix .diff.lua (instead of just .lua as before) 10) these are the new files and all should be OK (I am not an expert but it worked very well for me):) hope this will help a few like me who tried to understand how to... 19. It is true that Crimea was fun, back in LOMAC's time! But perhaps the situation is a bit too sensitive right now, no? Just a question of timing...
  20. sorry.... This is not a game anymore!!! We should never forget, in the comfort of our HOTASed armchairs, that there is real people involved now, and all this is becoming quite scary. Not a simulator. There is no pain simulator!
  21. Hey Worther I have been hesitating a few hours before answering this but I HAVE to tell you this : no matter what solution you choose (Free headtracking, TIR, etc), head tracking device for views is, for me, THE ONE THING that revolutionned the whole immersion and experience of flight sims!!! I think that it is way more a priority than buying aircrafts! Take the step and go for it, you will never want to go back!!! (a friendly advice) :smilewink:
  22. Hey! Superkungfu Nice to hear from you! I found this : In the OPTIONS of the simulator, if one selects the CONTROLS tab, and then just below, an aircraft (say the new F-15C, and directly on the right of it a category of controls, say ALL, then, at the bottom of the window, there is a new? button labeled HTML which I clicked and ''LO'' in the SAVED GAMES directory, in the right aircraft folder inside of a new INPUTLAYOUTS.TXT folder, here is a KEYBOARD.HTML list of all keyboard commands! Then you can print it. You have to do it one aircraft at a time. Good luck JEFX
  23. Thanks TonyZ I had come to the same conclusion but I found also that there is a conflict between axises... I have to cancel some zoom axis, either TrackIR Z axis, or mouse zoom, etc... JEFX
  24. Hello everyone, I have been away from DCS in the last few weeks and I am back and happy! I am trying to adjust the horizontal view angle for my triplehead2go setup and cannot find the param anymore? Usually it was in the config folder, in the view file (I think view.lua if I remember well) and there was a series of view angles parameters that could be changed per aircraft. I always needed to do it after each update in the main DCS folder view folder, otherwise I have a very narrow FOV in the 3840X1024 setup... and cannot zoom out. Anybody knows where this parmameter has migrated????? disapeared??? thanks JEFX
