    MIP Restock

That’s strange. I ordered mine on the 20th, it shipped on the 21st, and I received it on the 23rd. (SE Asian location, hence the shorter shipping time). WW have said numerous times that they process orders in the sequence they received them, did you place your order later in the day? Maybe they did oversell some of the individual components.
  2. Great looking app. I’m interested in using my phone to display the Hornet’s IFEI, but it doesn’t look like nozzle position is displayed. Is there any chance this could be included at some time?
  3. Stored HDG isn’t modelled realistically. Currently it’s just “quick align”, so to speak. You can even start the engines, taxi somewhere else, park, and then complete a stored HDG alignment.
  4. @Minsky I just want to day thanks for the work you've put into these charts. They're absolutely fantastic. I do have 2 questions. First, what software do you use to produce these charts? I'm interested in putting some things together for my own use, (though I doubt I'll achieve your standards), and I'm curious what you use. Second, have you thought about creating a "Smart Pack" for the NTTR too? I know there's a lot of information to sift through so, I understand if it's more work than you're prepared to take on.
  5. I have this problem too. Regardless of my graphics settings, I can't make out the landing area until half way down the grove. Combined with the IFLOS disappearing with any overshoot, it's really frustrating doing carrier trals at the moment. I don't recall having either of these issues 12 months ago.
  6. @BIGNEWY not to hound you guys, but do you have any update on this issue? It’s been 5 months since the first report, and remains as frustrating as ever.
  7. SLAM/ER is also perfect. The man-in-the-loop final targeting control can be beneficial in a dense shipping environment, to ensure the correct target is hit. That’s something that can’t be done with a Harpoon.
  8. I posted this in the Win Wing forum, but it may be more applicable here I've finished setting up my MIP, and whilst everything works, the AMPCD & the HUD are now noticeably less clear, almost like they are being displayed at the wrong resolution. You can compare this in the screenshot below, with the HSI on the left DDI and on the AMPCD. My screen setup is also displayed below. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
  9. Not clear. If you compare the two HSI's in the first image above, you can see there is a problem with the image quality being exported from DCS for the 3rd MFD. It also affects the HUD & the HMD quality
  10. Hi, I've finished setting up my MIP, and whilst everything works, the AMPCD & the HUD are now noticeably less clear, almost like they are being displayed at the wrong resolution. 11. Depending on the individual ship’s spacing, it can be difficult. Whilst using the SEA radar mode will give you precise weapon release information, it doesn’t transfer specific, individual target information to the Harpoon. All you can do is set the Harpoon seek size to small and hope the accurate release cue’s mean the ship you intend to hit is right in front of the missile when it becomes active. If that’s not good enough, then MAVs or LGBs would be your other options.
  12. Firstly, don't be late! But, if you are, you go to the top of the stack and wait your turn, following everyone else down. You should already have a good idea of who is recovering on your event, and therefore know who is supposed to be where. Using the radar/datalink/hmd/visual lookout, you can determine where the current top of the stack is.
  13. Wow, thanks for the diagnosis. I'm actually on a laptop, with DCS on a relatively new Samsung 970 Evo+, so hopefully that's not faulty. Strangely, I've never experienced any symptoms of drive failure or connection problems, but regardless, I'll have a deeper look and see if I can find anything. Again, thanks for the help.
  14. Might change your mind when we get the F15E.
  15. Other sims aren't necessarily better at modeling turbulence/buffet etc either. They're just different. For instance, I find MSFS turbulence very unrealistic, with an almost pre-programmed like pitch and roll oscillation around the aircraft CG, rather than any actual vertical displacement of the aircraft. Getting realistic turbulence effects is just really hard to do, especially in consumer software with no physical feedback.
  16. Well, I haven't seen this before. Some of my AI aircraft are defying physics and almost hovering vertically, one even continued rotating to fly inverted. Track file was larger than 5Mb, so is linked here instead.
  17. Ok, I've changed my page file as suggested, but it has made the problem significantly worse. Now, DCS crashes within minutes of joining a MP server. Also no longer just limited to cycling views, even just zooming on the F10 map can trigger a crash. My last log file is below. dcs.log
  18. Fair enough. Whilst I haven’t experienced these issues personally, I can understand how frustrating they may be.
  19. How is this any different to Discord? In our squadron we keep Discord on in the background, with each flight in its own voice channel, then simply mute the Discord mic on spawn. If someone dies or DCS crashes, they can still talk to the rest of the flight immediately by unmuting their Discord input. Seems to work pretty seamlessly for us, so maybe I’m not understanding the issues correctly.
  20. Yes. This is a known issue. But, as with everything SuperCarrier related, don’t hold your breath for a fix anytime soon.
  21. I’d agree, it’s very good footage, but I have no idea how it “has all the answers we need”?

Yeah, I think it only lasted for 24 hours or so. When looking at the individual units, it seems only the MFD is actually out of stock, so hopefully, it doesn't take too long to replenish.
  23. My squad's arming SOP is to leave it SAFE at FENCE-in. We simulate navy ops however, and whilst we have access to both current & past RL Hornet guys, I guess it may still vary depending where you are. For A/G, after getting the last picture call and confirming the target is clear, typically at or just approaching the IP, we switch to ARM. This is done when the strike leader calls "Attack". For A/A, after taking a commit on the current A/A picture, the flight lead will call "check tapes, master ARM", and that's when we switch it to ARM. I'd be lying if I said in the heat of the moment, I've never forgotten to switch to ARM.....
  24. No overclock. I haven't touched my page file yet, but I'll see if that helps. Cheers.
  25. As stated above. Cycling through aircraft with the F2 key, causes DCS to freeze up. Install cleaned and repaired, with all mods removed except TacView, SRS & VAICOM. Log file included below. dcs.log
