Nice! I'll be downgrading my big desk to something like this but with room for a wheel. Don't need the 5 monitor setup anymore. Maybe just a couple of toggle switches for quick access to important stuff. Vive chaperone on hotas and flip the switches.
-
With a HMD and accurate tracked VR gloves you would really only need dummy switches. Pit building can get a whole lot cheaper for those who wants the best experience with their loved aircraft.

Changed my mind. After lots and of research I'll be waiting for Amd to release their next and might even wait for Vega, it's not that far off and seem more future proof. If the midrange polaris can at least run Vr I'll be good for a while. Big changes seems to be coming and I play far more than just Dcs

Will be grabbing the 1070, maybe the 1080 once the Europe price is known.i can return it withing 30 days if I'm not happy with it too. With vr out and stuck on 270x it's a massive upgrade. That said I hope Amd will come out with something that can at least tickle the 1070 at a good price. We need competition is this market, monopoly is never a good thing.

Good to know, got my comp in another room with cables thought a hole in the wall and I plan to hang the cable from the roof. Will most likely need an extension

This or magic leap when it's good and ready will need it's own gaming room with just a chair in it, no doubt! The next 10 years in gaming and sims will be fantastic

I got my vive on pre order but I really curious about the performance of the vive at lower framerates. Occulus is using Async time warp that helps a lot at lower fps and frame drops from what I read. Any experience with the vive on this? Since its using a different method, is it still fluid at lower fps, not to much judder and nauseating?

Will DCS support the VR optimization of the 10xx series?
trigen replied to Kirin's topic in Virtual Reality
One thing about the viewport support though, they talk about World of warcraft in all its glory on the press conference so i can only assume there will be no stretching in any game where you use a triple monitor with 1 screen setup. Would then the same apply to DCS? Im assuming yes. Can you also use this capability for a 3 screen from the options with no loss in performance? Or is that the DX12 part? Sorry if this isnt completely related to VR but its in the ballpark :) And it remains to be seen i guess but to buy, then AMD would have to have this capability also. -

Amd got until the 27th of May to beat Nvidia then. Always been with AMD for the graphics but their drivers keeps going backwards in terms of design and usability (multi mon)so im not very tempted to get another product. Thats another discussion though. It really depends if their feature and tech can give me a advantage good enough to ignore the driver issues. -

This card is basically all our dreams come true for its multimonitor and VR capabilities (16 viewports at hardware level), not to mention its impressive speed, obliterating the Titan X for $599. Im really looking forward to seeing developers taking advantage of it. Hope my Vive will be shipping early next month Edit, DX12 Assuming you are talking about the hardware viewport capability then right? Havent had the time to check all the details on this. -
No complaints, actually had me wondering about getting the s6 as it's on sale with the gear vr included hah. But that would be the cost of the HTC vive when you include the phone plan so I'll wait a bit. I just used my opentrack/clip as the gyros tend to drift a bit on my old phone. Worked great too. Sadly my tab s is to big for this. WiFi was running at 600ish

Preorders starting 29th of feb or so. Should see a lot of news before then i hope! there huge potential! For those of us that play lots of games i can only imagine what fighting games will be like with the room tracking. While id like to go on vacation this year i suspect using the money on this will remove all need to get out for a year or two!

Ive owned TIR5 so i can tell you right away that opentrack/freetrack and the like are just as good and will cost you virtually nothing to make (if you have some basic tools) Think i payed about 100ish nkr for mine, if that. If your not very handy you can grab it for about 300kr with the Ps3 eye (its a must to have, ive tried 30fps cams to and the difference is huge) on Ebay so its a bargain either way compared to the outragous price TIR charges, 1800kr for the cam and a trackclip pro... I got no issues with light unless i put the sun directly in front of my cam and im just using 3 red blue filters in front of my cam for the visible light filter. I had to use another lens with mine as its not possible to get the IR filter out (on this one), just grabbed from an old webcam. Believe you can get lenses without the IR filter on ebay though. Note you can also use the cam with just the leds but there is a big difference in tracking angles and lighting. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OpenTrack-FreeTrack-Camera-IR-LED-Track-Clip-Pro-is-compatible-to-TrackIR-5-BK-/161773673750?hash=item25aa765d16:g:AccAAOSwl9BWLi1z

Happen to have a Netgear AC1200 dual band and you will still get some slight lag. It really isnt that much however. For me its totally playable and feels somewhat as my TV at 15-20ish MS lag. Cant say im getting any motion sickness either but i might be immune as ive worked as a fisherman spending months at sea.

On the hunt for a cougar handle pcb

Only found CD 4021 BC BA and such would that be fine or does it need to be the CD 4021 CM exactly? -
On the hunt for a cougar handle pcb
trigen replied to trigen's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thanks for the help! Suppose that would be the most likely culprit yeah. Got an iron but it runs a bit hot so i guess this is a good a time as any to invest in a proper soldering station, been thinking about it for ages. Any repair bills in this country would amount to half a cougar even for this small fix haha but as you say, its not that difficult and mostly just needs a steady hand. Might have a look on my dead Buttkicker Amp at the same time -
On the hunt for a cougar handle pcb
trigen replied to trigen's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Everything is tested and currently isolated to the pcb as button 5 gets pressed as soon as you connect the board without any buttons connected. Can't rule out the fault being on the main pcb but there is no indication of that. Tried to inspect the board as best I can visually with magnifying glass but can't see anything. I'm not much of a electronic wizard so I can't say for sure. I've tried connecting the pcb solders to get the buttons to fire but no luck getting b5 to shut off. Not 100% sure on this though as it's connected trough these switches but can get most to fire. Got some static from the stick before the fault so might be the switch itself that's fried? For just one button? If I connect the handle before inserting to computer it will skip that button but it makes everything switch position so second trigger becomes b5 and so on -
On the hunt for a cougar handle pcb
trigen replied to trigen's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Waiting for a reply on the board from Tm but I'm not that hopeful as they stated they had no parts for the cougar in the first mail. But as far as I know it's pretty much the same board in the warthog. If not making one would be the way to go. My micro soldering skills ain't the best though. Perhaps this board can be fixed too as button five keeps pressed so it must be a fused con somewhere but I'm not entirely sure how to find it, have a multimeter and such. If it can be fabricated for a reasonable price it would be easier to just switch off. IL sort å pic later -
Like the title says if anyone got a spare PCB or the whole handle for the cougar i'd be interesting in grabbing it

do I still need to install the first BS ?
trigen replied to a1adin's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Got the upgrade mod at the bottom of the modules page in DCS world 1.5 so it should be there -
Hello Thought id ask here and see if anyone has had any experience with this. Thing is, ive been a bit unlucky and cut a wire on my cougar when closing the handle after a mod. Now after reconnecting it the NWS button no longer works and secondary trigger shows up as number 5. There's also some issue with hats that triggers 2 buttons at once and 7-9 has become 10-8. Seems the matrix or something has been screwed up. Ive check all wires for short and tested the NWS button and it works fine. I cant find anything and the pcb looks perfectly fine. Tried wiping the firmware and updated it again but it dont help. So im really at a loss on what to do. Solved, eventually found a short hidden deep within.. Turns out it wasn't that easy. Same issue came back and the strange thing is that everything works fine if I disconnect the brown wire that connect the stick to the Base. I would think that's a ground or a minus but I really have no idea. It shouldn't work at all as I see it. Any ideas? Most likely it's the pcb as I've removed every cable except the Base connection, triple checked for any short, apart from stripping the whole wire

Having an issue where the patch download was interupted. it was a 1 gig update and now it will no longer update/download using the auto update, it just goes straight into the game. Any solution to this? Hope i wont have to download the whole thing to update to 1.2.15 Current version is 1.2.14.36041 Thank you.

Selling my cougar It has some damage, the throttle has been sawed off and glued back on due to it being in a pit, no effects on performance, the cable could use replacement but is in working order. Comes with custom mount if requested. Want to sell this in scandinavia due to freight costs and the fact the the FSSB alone cost me 4000 NKR due to VAT. I would prefer 3000 NKR for the Cougar setup http://postimage.org/image/6ng2l8ck3/ http://postimage.org/image/sb50vocyb/ http://postimage.org/image/rmw6cqe8j/ http://postimage.org/image/7tonxrq8j/ PS i have the lid for the throttle Will add some more stuff later as i get it unpacked from boxes in my apartment. Includes, Bodnar stick controller. MS FFB2, Saitek rudder pedals. and pit stuff, cables

Yup it works quite well, been doing it for ages now, you can also hide your taskbar (works for the most part) or have it on a different monitor. Highly recommended
