  1. When making AI planes flyable, catapult will not work, it is that simple. By the way, the efA MoD doesn't alter engine or aerodynamics caracteristics of any airplane except the Harrier (for which it was required to make it al little bit more believable - try the original one !). I didn't know the VNAO simulated cat shot. I have been searching ways of doing it myself, though I only came up with an unsatisfactory solution). I wonder how did you do, through .lua scripts or otherwise ? If it isn't "for VNAO eyes only", I'd really like to know more about it, be it just a hint (by PM if you don't want to tell it in public). If you'd rather keep it a secret, I'd understand.

    I don't know about the VNAO mod, but if they won't give it easily, you can always try efA Mod in the meantime; makes almost all planes flyable - only A and C variants of the F/A-18, though ;) http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=52783&highlight=efA
  3. Do you mean, as flyable planes ? If so: From what I know, the MiG-29K can refuel allright. As for other planes, if you find some way to make it work, it would be incredible ;) (a related problem seems to be the adding arresting hook capability - which works for AI but not player-controlled airplanes as far as my tests showed) If you're talking about AI planes: I know F/A-18 won't refuel because they won't recognize the S-3 Viking as tanker. Don't know if this is fixable. For other planes, whereas adding carrier-capability to AI planes is easy and works fine, I have no idea where refueling capability is defined. I suspect all of this is hardcoded. I wish to be disproved, though
  4. Empire Total War requires Steam even when bought in a boxed version, also. There must be a few games like that, but I'm absolutely confident that IF ED choose to work with Steam, they won't do that, and we will always have the choice (boxed version - normal download version - Steam download version)
  5. What if you modify the .cmd with to replace, say, "...nomera.tga..." with "...nomera_A10.tga..." and have a specific nomera file for the A-10 (or for each plane for that matters) ? Not sure at all it would work, but could be worth a try
  6. If it's the same as Blackshark, you'll get at least menus, editor and such in English. Mission descriptions, encyclopedia, etc... will still be in russian. But that's a giant leap already ;)
  7. As for Bullseye: just chose a point and make a "BRAA" from this point. You can display friendlies waypoint to pinpoint the location of the Bullseye. Alternatively, you could ask for a friendly location in Bullseye format, and draw a marker (a drawing feature is included) there
  8. I personnally don't like Steam, but I don't mind Steam releases at all, as long as there are other ways besides. What I dislike is games that are only available through Steam
  9. Yes, I suppose these days they would have better ways of doing it. But, are survival radios equipped with HAVEQUICK ?
  10. I'm wondering about that last thing also. I don't know about recent flight ops, but back in Vietnam, they used Direction Finder + mike keying a lot to locate each other (esp. downed airmen). Sounds cool to use :)
  11. Up :) I didn't find what modifications to do. Also, another question: what about the EA-6B ? I wonder if it would be possible to add it. It would need a new .lua file from scratch, at the very least. Any idea what more is missing for it (apart from 3D model, of course) ?
  12. Hopefully refuelings won't be auto-pilot driven in A-10C. :thumbup: Fed up with lazy US pilots in FC2 when Russians fly the drogue all the way (though it also is a bit less demanding than IRL) :D
  13. The fences are looking very good ! I find the watchtower kinda strange with this metal support. Maybe a new wooden support and gates would look good ? If wooden gates don't look too funny

This sim will be incredible :) I, too, wonder about how the cut-off detent will be dealed with on a non- TM Warthog throttle (you can't expect everyone to buy this expensive piece of equipment, even though the combination sim-joystick will be an unprecedented extasy). Is cut-off part of the throttle range, or separate ? If it is, is it adjustable so that it fits one's liking ? These are questions that come to my mind when I see Matt start the engines (no start button ? what a lazy way to start them :D) :)
  15. Okay, so it works, could any of you tell me what should be modified to make it happen ? Last time I tried, I couldn't get inside the cockpit, couldn't cycle the view to it, and it was invisible (it was there and did make sounds, though !)
  16. Iwonder, has anybody managed to make the F-111 work in FC2 ? I know it has been done for the MiG-29K and the Harrier, but I don't remember seeing the same for the F-111. I know it has no 3D model, but that's not what I'm interested in right now, I wonder if it can be made to work whatever the 3D model. Anyone tried ?

Not sure it is possible to change the type of a bomb (because they are listed in WsTypeTree under specific bomb types), but you might want to take a look at Config\Weapons\bombs_table.lua, that's where the cluster containers are defined (ex: number and type of bomblets - bomblets themselves are defined in cluster_data.lua)
  18. F-15C cockpit ? Yes it does. Rockets and dumb bombs only, though, but I use the capability on a regular basis ;)

Hey guys, I remember seeing a video in which a fighter plane (maybe F/A-18 ), HUD view, maybe at a Red Flag, was trying to lock a Sidewinder onto a big bastard like a B-52 or such, which would keep on flaring like crazy, and the fighter jock wouldn't get a decent lock. All the seeker would do was locking alternatively here and there on flares. I can't seem to find it now - must have tried almost every possible search I could think of, here and on Google. Any clues ? Please tell me I'm not insane and I haven't dreamed this video :helpsmilie:
  21. Yes, you must be careful uninstalling this mod, because Modman isn't used to deal with new folders ;) Best way is to put the mod on a separate install. As for the F/A-18, you should be able to drop bombs, and rockets allright
  22. And ? Of course they must pay, it's an upgrade. Not like Israelis sold the exact same thing again. They improve something (and apparently, they are very good at upgrades, since they do quite a few of them recently), and sell something which is much better than the original product. Probably, those who buy it estimate it would cost them more to improve the system themselves, or it wouldn't be up to par.
  23. Wow, cool, Moa about the AoA indexer and other things. But will it need a 2nd screen like LEAVU ? Same for MFDs, I guess ?
  24. AFAIK, this seems to be the same thing as with tailhooks and such, and unfortunately I don't know a way to add it to an aircraft. If it is possible and someone finds out, I'd be happy !

I don't know if it has been changed at all in FC2, but I remember that the Big Dipper, Polaris and all indeed present, but I felt it rather difficult to find them due to all stars having the same brightness (vs. for exemple ArmA II, where it is easier due to brightness being dependant on the particular star)
