IIRC, just lock with the TGP and coordinates should be automatically passed to the JDAM, I think.

We are not flying commercial airliners, and AFAIK, US military jets operating at a military airbase do not need to ask permission for start-up. I have always read of pre-briefed angine start times. So you just start you're engines when the clock tells you to.

Great news :) I hava a question. Right now it seems to me that you can't monitor guard while on an other frequency (in FC3). Does this works with the A-10C and UH-1H on UHF (A-10C have a "BOTH" setting, and UH-1H a "TR + G" setting) ? If not, would it be possible to implement ? If it is already implemented in A-10C and UH-1H, would it be possible to make it available to Airborne radio (ie. FC3 aircraft) ?

The F/A-18C has definitely been announced in the DCS Newletter March 2013.

I agree, it would be great to be able to hop into a door gunner position without the module activated. It may give some people the desire to buy the module to show their pilot how much better they would be :D This wish, though, might as well go to the Belsimtek forum. Also, I am not sure it would be easy to achieve.

I had the same thing, it's a graphics setting issue. Not 100% sure which, but try increasing Textures quality and Res. of cockpit display (my bet would be on that one). I recently increased both and the kneeboard is not blurry anymore

It would probably be nice to have the door-mounted variant at some point, cause those door guns are not very efficient IMO (though they're real fun to use)
-
It's nice to be able to close them though, if just for the noise. I'll tell you, though, if you think it's loud with the doors open, try it with 4 other Hueys and 2 Ka-50s around you. Now that gets you in the mood

Do you start out playing in Sim and Game mode?
Robin_Hood replied to EvilBivol-1's topic in DCS: UH-1H
I start in Sim mode. And I begin with a ramp start. Always have (Ka-50, A-10C, P-51D, UH-1H). -
Should we keep the autopilot and weapons hint display?
Robin_Hood replied to EvilBivol-1's topic in DCS: UH-1H
I'd chime in with a point of view that seems mostly shared. - remove the weapons hint ; it is rather distracting, and not useful (as in, there are indicators in the cockpit for this) - keep the autopilot hints (because of lack of in-cockpit indicators) - renaming in "co-pilot" is not a bad idea either, as is inavailability when said co-pilot is dead (ie. turning the "cheat" into a more realistic option) - maybe defaulting to off (or an option to choose the default setting) I already caught my co-pilot sleeping (screenshot), so I guess it would be funny to hear him talk :D Useful as an indicator that "autopilot" is now on/off. -
I think the point to remember is, even when using TrackIR you can still zoom (* and /) and have the HUD get bigger.

Ejected pilots now visible in MP! Thank you ED!
Robin_Hood replied to BaD CrC's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Well, seeing the pilot where he landed is a start. It shows things are moving forward, and I'm sure ED will try and improve upon that in future patches -
Sounds just like the F/A-18 :music_whistling: But sure, an F-16 further down the road would be a nice addition. However, the F-15C will come first, as Matt announced

Really ? It works now ? I hadn't noticed. If so, this is a long-awaited fix ! I will test that. Search And Rescues, here we come:) -
Actually, multiple player positions are featured right now. Press 1, 2, 3 or 4 (not NUMPAD) to switch to pilot, co-pilot, right gunner or left gunner. Now, multiplayer crew coop is for later.

Couldn't the F10 map in Fog of war mode do that ? Ennemy in range = appearing on the map = you can click and have info on it. Or does it only work with airborne radars ?
-
I suppose it should be possible, at least head turning. I don't know how much things have changed, but in previous versions there was mods to do the opposite (extend the view limits), so the reverse would have worked. I think that was server.lua (should be in $USER$\Saved Games\DCS\Config\ or so), maybe view.lua also.
-
A heading hold slaved to the heading cursor would make the aircraft turn when you move said cursor around. As it is, it only holds current heading.
-
Well, I will test it again, and see if others have the same issue. Thing is, the correct radio was selected and the panel responded correctly, and showed the preset changing. In Teamspeak infos, though, the frequency didn't change. I will come back to you after further tests. Also, I have no idea why the freeze is so long on my computer. I was playing with someone who hadn't noticed anything. Does being the server changes anything ? Else I don't know, maybe my video card is getting overloaded (thinking of that since you said D3D). Anyway it is not terribly annoying, especially since it seems to be a rather isolated issue.

Quoted from the manual:
-
Actually, the throttle is less important than I figured it would be. From reading Chickenhawk, I was under the impression that the RPM setting was entirely manual, requiring constant adjustments (to every change in collective or rudder). But the GOV seems to take care of it in our bird (maybe it is an improvement upon the version of the helo used in the book ?).
-
I think the manual states 40 RPM or 40 seconds, whichever comes first. As for the Low RPM alarm, it is annoying but normal behaviour. Just turn it off (actually, it might even be worth turning it off before turning on the battery). And it indeed snaps back to normal when your RPM get in the normal operation parameters.
-
I still got those heavy freezes at the Unpausing of the game. I wonder if that could be because Teamspeak and DCS World are on different hard drives ? Sounds weird but who knows. I should make some tests (reinstall, try on same drive, things like that). Oh, another thing. It looks like the keyboard inputs are not able to switch presets. With manual frequencies it works, but with presets, although the number changes, frequencies in Teamspeak do not change.

So in the options, it is called "throttle" in Keys and "corrector" in Axis. Well, good to know (too bad I don't really have an axis that would work for that)
