  1. I can HIGHLY recommend Tactical DCS, we're a pretty big group (mostly EU), and it's all focused around being welcoming helping people out. We've also got a dedicated F18 squadron and mentors, so there's some really knowledgable people about

  3. Huh guess I was being blind. Trust a programmer to overcomplicated things :P
  4. If you're like me and keep DCS on a different drive to your saved games (where the mission editor file explorer opens) you might not be able to navigate to where the campaign missions are kept. You can create a symlink to work around this. (also worth making a copy of the original if you're going to be editing built in missions so you don't break anything)
  5. Having popped off the base plate, it all looks fine (I'm not electrician) and the connection to the connector seems secure, not hopeful on avoiding the RMA

Posting this while waiting on virpil support to see if there's a DIY fix so I can avoid an RMA :D Got a new MongoosT-50CM2 a few weeks back, and have been having issues with a very tempermental connection to the the base. A replacement USB cable hasn't fixed the issue, so I'm assuming it's the USB port on the base itself. Sometimes it works fine, but if the cable is moved it can lose connection. Anyone had experience with this?
  7. Conveniences?! In MY flight simulator?! No thanks, ban everyone who uses a keyboard, or has modifier keys on their HOTAS. Only real-life qualified fighter pilots allowed! I better not catch anyone having FUN D:< Seriously that's how they sound, who cares if someone else uses a feature you don't want to
  8. I've been having these issues, but I'm pretty bad at carrier landings so it's possible I was doing it wrong. I've had cases where my AoA and ball were looking pretty good, I've cut power just before I reach the deck, and I'll still float right over the wires

  10. During mission two, after the bandit turns north you are asked what your fuel state is. The two options are Low or Ladder, but the included guide doesn't define what each of these mean, and I can't find information about "fuel state Ladder" anywhere on google. So two things, can you please add this to the glossary, and what does it actually mean (I'm currently paused in the mission :D )
  11. Don't suppose anyone has a breakdown of what's required for each mission? I don't want to spoil myself, but I need to brush up on a LOT, and would rather do it on a per mission basis

  14. The reason so many people find AG radar relevant is because we don't have the kind of surveillance or ground controller options available to us that would preclude the need for AG radar. There's another similar thread with a comment (https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4455518&postcount=25) stating the difference in experience between trying to blindly find ground targets in the viper and the jeff. It SUCKS trying to do it in the viper, ground radar makes it way smoother. So yeah, you're going to come across as unpleasant when you moan about "the number of nits whinging about it. Those who realised its more limited utility weren't making the fuss." Not only is it rude, but not helpful, and subjectively wrong

  16. Now that the hornet is getting it's EXP modes ( ), does this mean the JF-17 will be getting similar functionality / able to use whatever underlying API. I'm not familiar whether the real-life version AG radar has this functionality, and if it does, whether it's planned on being included
  17. I've noticed that, unlike other jets I've seen, the wingtip hardpoints tend to have Fox-3s and the Fox-2s will be on outer wing pylons. Is there a doctrine / practical reason for this?
  18. It seems like ED have been doing a decent amount of community surveying for the F16, was wondering if they have or will be doing the same for the game in general. They seem to be doing work on improving the A2A experience in terms of missile performance, but A2G is hamstrung with the current behaviour of indirect explosive damage (maybe I'm completely misunderstanding and it actually is realistic as-is, but it feels off to me).
