  1. More so than they would be if you're an idiot (like me) just bashing stuff together in the ission editor. The update introducing packages instead of single flights is mostly what I'm referring to
  2. DCS Liberation is great for generating a more realistic flight plan with packages, flights, time on target etc. There's some interesting examples of gulf war flight plans in a channel in the tactical dcs discord if you want to see what the real thing looked like for the RAF
  3. Wasn't there an issue where carriers need a single waypoint in order for certain systems to work? TACAN and ILS I think
  4. DCS doesn't handle multi-threading all that well (might change, but who knows). If you had the option for fewer cores, but higher single core performance (this combo is noramlly cheaper too IIRC), you would likely benefit. LooseSeal has it right though, PC Specialist are great, and more RAM is a must
  5. Persian gulf is probably the most popular atm, although I wouldn't be surprised if it starts to shift towards Syria
  6. That's a weirdly hostile response @kotor633
  7. I meant the old eclair box, but if it's been removed it would explain why I never see it
  8. That's a great effect, can't wait to see what people do with it
  9. I'm also curious about this, and whether the ECM(?) box that I've seen on the left on the HUD is part of the eclair pod
  10. Do you have rudder pedals? I often have to invert the axis on them
  11. I also get this a lot, it drives me nuts
  12. I used it to play DCS
  13. I got this one, seems to work just fine https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0879DGZ5W/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  14. In mission 10 of the ossetia campaign, one of the waypoints is at 26000ft (but shows at ground level in INS). I always go through the waypoints and set proper height as the INS alignment happens. This is fine for all the other waypoints, but not the one at angels 26. Is there a max height? My other thought was that that waypoint is also bulls.
  15. eh, it's easy to forget what the learning curve is like once you're past it
  16. I agree with Rudel_chw, I find the non-clickable cockpits (like the Su-25t) much harder to control. Another thing to think about is that it's really hard to control a plane well, if you don't have at least a joystick. Headtracking is the next most important in my opinion, followed by throttle and then rudder pedals. If you don't have at least the first three, it will be harder than it is for other players. DCS is a difficult game, and for most people part of the fun is learning it, so don't be put off if that's what you want; having said that, the game isn't for everyone, and there's nothing wrong with ARMA (600hours in for me, though I can't stand the planes). Since it's difficult to learn, most people find it useful to have someone to fly with who can answer questions and help them out. I'm part of the Tactical DCS community, and we have loads of great people who will be able to helpo you out (for free, unlike some *cough cough*). There's other great communities out there too, so don't be shy, we've all been noobs at this game
  17. It does look more like that in VR, I imagine it's a limitation of the 2D rendering
  18. Here's my settings, F16 MFD test & CMS panels are still blurry as an example
  19. Still blurry text unfortunately, I don't know why mine seems to be so different from everyone elses
  20. Soo.... Set it to 1.0?
  21. I've had my quest 2 for a few days, I seem to have tried every combination of settings and tools I can find online. No matter what I do, I can't make out text on MFDs properly, and it has a bit of a stutter. This kind of tech problem is awkward to sort over text imo, so I'm after someone who wouldn't mind taking half an hour to go through this with me in discord or something. I'm running a i5-9600k 5.0GHz, RTX 3090, 32Gb RAM, so I'm not lacking in power. I never seem to get notifications here, but I'm Caster#0992 on discord. Cheers in advance Various things I've tried, doing my best to reset to default between different approaches: https://uploadvr.com/oculus-link-resolution-increase-odt/
  22. What are your VR settings in DCS? 1.0 pixel density?
  23. Appears there's a workaround, turn on ground power first, then battery and radios
  24. Sounds to me like the axis for the scroll wheel has bound itself to something that is conflicting with your mouse input. Might be worth checking if it even can be bound in the axis as I'm not actually sure
  25. I know you get this one all the time but... starting up on mission one, I can't hear the instructor on radio. Easy comms disabled, game volume is fine. Battery on, Red to Marche, Green to FF, both channel one. Radio volume dials are turned up, freq panel displays 139.90 and 249.00. I'm 90% sure I've not been an idiot, am I missing something?
