  1. I think you should bind AA/NAV/AG mode selector in some handy spot, as well as SOI selector and TDC movement/lock for sure - I use an old joystick for that. Stock jammer bind is good, as well as drag shute (those you will be doing frequently, but those are ok to not have on HOTAS). Rest isn't really that much of a priority. Keybinds or MFCD's will do. Also, in MP, my SRS is set up with PTT on COMM1 and next station cycle on COMM2.
  2. More realistic damage model is on progress - warbirds got it first, and now it will be adapted for jets. Perhaps what we got in F-5 is somewhat stop-gap solution, and problem will be solved with an introduction of new DM?
  3. Actually it is pretty easy for JF-17 to map basics. I will add JOY_BTN(X) for reference. I made those binds trying to keep it somewhat close to original. Stick: gun (1), weapon release (2), change weapons (4), change/unselect station (3) + trim Throttle: COMM1 (5), COMM2 (6), IFF interrogate (7), speed brake toggle (8), countermeasure dispense (9), AG manual mode (10) Base: flaps toggle (11), gear toggle (12)
  4. 1. 27.01.2022 - still present. (I figured I will post it here for now, instead of creating new topic for now, but if needed, I will create post in Bug Report )
  5. If you want to add some extra safety feature to your touchdown, just above runway, when you are flaring, quickly add throttle and go back to idle, That little burst of thrust will make your sync rate with the runway slower and will put less strain on gear. If you overdo it, prepare for a bit of gliding.
  6. Yeah, I was dodging a bullet there. I have to say, I can already pheel Phantom Pains in my wallet...
  7. MiG-19's pilot suffers from hypoxia as well. Only problem being, from what I was able to gather, that oxygen valve is in the open position at cold start (contrary to manual/start up procedure). So it is possible to leave it out and don't spot the difference. I got blur, tunnel vision and started to black out because of that.
  8. Well, AvioDev did show a lot of care and attention to details in the past, regarding C-101. I doubt they will leave out such issues behind, but since they are working on F-1 right now, probably we will have to wait a bit. And about fixing more popular modules, @darkman222, I would agree, but partly. F-5 still has some problems, that can be really annoying, like randomly switching X to Y TACAN band, G-limit introduced only now (and to mixed responce, to say the least) not to mention RWR and radar performance. And it is out of EA for years. So yes, problems will remain sometimes, sadly. And I agree, that trainers are not so flashy as dedicated combat planes. My guess is after F-1 will be out, devs can turn their attention to polishing 101. Perhaps they will develop some solutions wile working on Flechette, so they can port them back on CASA? I don't know, I can't code for one bit, but it doesn't seem unreasonable.
  9. Ah, I see now - yes, it seems like switch is upside down. Mode 2 is low altitude tracking and 1 is above 2000 m search and track, and should be the other way around. Yes, you are right. I got so used to that in 19, I really stopped paying attention.
  10. I know guys, I would also want to see some more essential changes. Sadly, there is nothing mentioned about them. Maybe they will be implemented, since keeping older modules on par with the new ones would include some changes that are not just updated visuals. That isn't a fact, though, it is just opinion, and I can be in the wrong, so keep that in mind. About AI FM, I know that more realistic AI behaviour and FM actually is something that is worked on, so the changes most likely will include F-5 as well. But that is not F-5 specific, just all AI in general.
  11. Lamp is there to tell you, that radar is operating, when you switch to the tracking antenna only, as far as I remember. Scope is connected to search antenna, and shuts down when that antenna is off.
  12. Here, F-5 (external model and PBR textures) are stated as "on progress". And here - model showcase, F-5 in the works among them.
  13. Hey, Are you sure you warmed up the radar properly and/or it didn't ran out of coolant? I remember I managed to break it without proper warming up...
  14. As far as I am aware, ED is doing F-5 overhaul, regarding textures, PBR and probably some 3D improvements. I am not sure, however, when it will be released, since they have a lot of modules to both release/finish EA stage and to upgrade to current standards. I am not sure about anything regarding re-working radar or adding features to F-5. I don't think that was mentioned, but I can be wrong. I remember F-5 update was reported "on progress" last year though, so maybe this year we will see it released, or at least some info about current state.
  15. Well, Mitsubishi F-1 was pretty important jet, and not many countries had introduced fully domestic design. Looks sweet, too! It would be nice to have it in DCS, actually.
  16. You are tough as nails, overcoming broken back and beating cancer into submission. Stay safe and strong, I hope your next year will be all but better to you! I wish you that. Fairey
  17. I also noticed, that usually bulk of videos (regarding jets) is focused on 4th gen US stuff. Yes, you will have few seconds of say, Mirage 2000C, there will be some shots of FC3 red jets, but Vipers, 'Cats and Hornets are all over the place. Mudhen is probably fitting, because it is going to be next big US 4th gen module.
  18. Yeah, just got the results. Afghanistan it is!
  19. Thank you for latest C-101 updates. They are great.
  20. There are some ideas about F-5 keybinds. I tried to keep them somewhat close to original layout, but some concessions had to be made. I hope it will be of some use to you!
  21. Like Sarge55 said, Tricker has very nice set of tutorials on F-5. I will also add Crash Laobi (you want F-5 overview and 1 minute DCS series) as well as Tactical Pascale - there is also nice tutorial series there.
  22. World map would be an interesting feature. And I am not against that idea. However, in DCS we would benefit marginally from it. We still are bound by operational range of our planes and ground assets. And to the theater of operations. Personally I think that high-fidelity, well optimised maps of current size are not bad choice, but maybe I am too easy to please. Speaking of pleasing.... Please, swap those LOMAC-era buildings. It hurts so much when you see those popping out of the blue and screaming: "Why you don't love me, player?!" I will be pleased, if they won't haunt me anymore.
  23. Indeed, my accuracy was so abysmal, I started to use the sight caged only. Part of misses is my fault, because I am rubbish shot, but strangely I hit more consistently just eyeballing it.
