  1. Hello flashben, do you still have the lower part of the stick? The part that would have screwed into the base? I know you said it wasn't included. But I'm looking for the connector if you have it for sale as well.
  2. Thanks for the update! Watching it now.
  3. Hello polecat. If you cannot find a replacement board. I am in the market for a cougar or warthog flight stick. I wish you best of luck in your search.
  4. Whats that F5 doing there? 2:52 Mark. Cant wait!
  5. Did the p47 have a BMEP indicator?
  6. I have the privilege of being a flight mechanic flying around the North America. That said I spend hours sitting jump seat bored out of my mind. I made my hobby to try and spot planes as best as I can using the TCAS. It's harder that most people think. Let's start with at night. I can spot most everything in the 20-25 mile range with lights on. If dcs could make sure that you light up like a Christmas tree at night when lights are on. That would be great. I feel that stupidity should be punished. Daytime is a different story. 5-6 miles at best. I would think that spotting an airliner when I know its altitude, distance, and direction would be easy. Its just not. When the airliner had contrails, (chemtrails lol) I could spot them 30miles. We were cruising Anywhere from 32-38k feet. The TCAS was only set to show +- 2500 feet at 40miles. I spotted other planes.
  7. I own both. They are both very high quality and function well. The only thing I do not like on the fighter stick was the lack of a 2 stage trigger. I perfer to use it for helicopter flying over the warthog as it is lighter on the controls. The fighter stick is made of lightweight plastics. It is very strong and I have never been careful with it. It has been dropped and knocked off my desk and works just fine. I bought it second hand and it it close to 10 years old and functions fine. I had to clean up the pots once but nothing major. It has an extra axis for used as a throttle or zoom. Also it has adjustment so you can "trim" the stick instead of using the ingame trim. That said. I only use the warthog stick for flying everything else. It is made of a lot of metal. It's very heavy and could be used as a home defence weapon. I have always been more careful with it. It cost more for me at the time. The only time it has ever been dropped, it broke a keyboard it landed on. I have pulled it apart to add grease to make it smoother. It only helped a little. There are more buttons on the warthog. It has a 2stage trigger, the CMS switch can be pressed, and it has a paddle on the bottom. I found the paddle to be an excellent brake Pedro until I purchased pedels. You won't be upset with either purchase. I used the warthog because I simply have to have a 2 stage trigger.
  8. I feel leatherneck has proven through the load out menu, the DCS engine can change cockpit textures and models. See Mig21 jamming pods. By this logic, it is feasible that changing fuel types could be added to the P-47 and future WW2 Fighters. Again controlled by the mission editor loadouts. If the ground work can be laid with the p47. All future mods will have the framework to build on. Truly a wish list item for the p47. And why stop with just 100/130 and 100/150? Let's put a 100LL option in for people wishing to fly on modern low octane fuel? Will this same discussion come about for the spitfire? ( Rhetorical) To mods: I had a similar post to Aurora's earlier, it was removed for reasons unknown to me. I do not feel it broke any forum rules. And it was quite on topic to the p47 when in contexts. I feel Aurora's post is important to the conversation as it shows a best of both worlds approach.
  9. And a side note. Let try to limit the straight engine talk. I love p38s and p51s. But fancy liquid cooled wimpy inline engines cannot be discussed in the same context as round engines.
  10. I think we can expect 100/130 octane fuel. The last document echo linked, it calls for the used of 150 kits to no longer be supplied to p47s as it was no longer needed. WEP at 65 with 150 gas looks to be possible. I have worked on later dash number 2800s. Putting that much MP into a 2800 will break things. You will go from a healthy engine to one that will have only hours of useful life remaining. Cracked heads, scorched pistons, ring lan failures, dropped valves, blown heads. Funny, I have seen an engine will all of the above and the crew complained it was a little rough. (Over boosted event) We are talking major maintence after an event at this pressure. However, if it means the plane comes home, then it was worth it.
  11. Just wondering. What level of MP are we talking? Factory vs wartime mods? Octane fuel? Prop rpm, and 2800 dash number?
  12. Just tried. Logged it just fine with the last IP you listed.
  13. Red Eagles is a great book. Would recommend to anyone who likes Mig-17, 19, 21, or 23. Some great incite on what the US airforce really thought of the Russian aircraft.
  14. ${1} I found a short bit of it. Looking for for the whole thing. Look at all the fuel on the ground around the aircraft!!!
  15. And the second link is exactly what I want to see a video of. 3 foot flaming exhaust on v8s to start the Blackbird. It must of been awesome!
  16. I am looking for the the old school start cart. Not the newer air start. Thanks for the video though. It was still nice to watch.
  17. I have been trying to find a video of a sr71 startup. I have read that it used to use 2 v8 engines as a start cart. I would love to see how that worked. I have tried a few google searches but no luck. Anyone know a vid, prefer no music.
  18. Please leatherneck, make it a checkbox or option to use the steering the right way!
  19. I would like to see the braking fully modeled along with the nose wheel being correct. This is DCS!
  20. Get a wingman. Sounds easy. But 2 average pilots on coms can take down a good pilot evertime with tactics. But of course your enemy is also on comms. Solo flying can get you only so far.
  21. I'm trying to figure out what server hosts are doing mainly Mig21 missions? Servers with Mig, Sabre, 25t?
  22. My current fix is on the Mig21/Ka50/SU25A. I would love more airframes on that's level of tech. That's my personally opinion. I am hostage like everyone else here to what airframes I can fly in DCS. I have no say on what gets made or what doesn't. I would never ask for a company not to build an airframe. When the F18 is out my feelings on this will change as it's going to need an escort.
  23. A fighter like the f15c would be so far ahead of anything else in DCS that the only Opfor would be more F15Cs. It would be boring. At least to me.
  24. As someone who works maintenance on aircraft. You removed the problem and extra weight needed for landing. AKA the pilot! JK, ride it out next time. The plane shouldn't just explode because it's landing in grass. Aircraft in general are way tougher than people give them credit for.
  25. It makes me want a DCS level F15 again.
